About this house rental
Nestled in Wimberley, this charming house for R 4,396 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Little House on the Blanco @ Shade Ranch is a one bedroom one bath stone house on 40 acres nestled along the Blanco River among the mighty oaks of the TX Hill Country. The house is fully stocked with kitchen supplies, linens and paper products and soap. The house is set up for a couple or a small family of no more than 5 people. We ask that no more than 3 adults stay given space and septic constraints. Shade Ranch consists of 40 private acres and 600+ feet of Blanco riverfront land. There are two houses on the property that we make available, the Little House and Casa Grande. Casa Grande is a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom home of 2800 square feet. The two houses are completely separate and don't share anything other than the land. They each have their own hot tubs, patios, grills and fire pits. The houses sit approximately 100 yards apart and are separated by a bank of cedar trees and a cedar privacy fence. I provide guests with all of details needed for check in along with a list of items provided at the house. Guests are not required to meet with anyone upon arrival, but rather will be given access codes to let themselves into the house. I am available by phone, text or email before and during your stay to help with any questions or issues that may arise. We are 5 minutes away from the Wimberley square with all of the local shops, restaurants and the grocery stores. So, while you feel that you're out in the country the conveniences of Wimberley are very close. Guests have full access to the house and our 40 acres and 600+ feet of Blanco Riverfront. You can feel free to explore the land to hike, bird watch or look for other wildlife. Gaze at a gorgeous sunset or sunrise on the river or from the picnic table on the bluff above. Grab your rod and discover what Flyfishing magazine called 'one of the best fly fishing spots in Texas, on the Blanco River.' Take a swim in the clear blue waters of the Blanco River. Enjoy a picnic or a nap or a book along its banks. Dine in the covered porch watching the deer graze and maybe see the rare violet-ear hummingbirds that have been known to visit. Get cozy on the couch to watch a movie or just listen to music on the Sonos speakers. You will find a wonderful, large outdoor hot tub right off the covered porch. It is a private place to unwind while admiring the brilliant stars above and the quiet solitude of Shade Ranch. Little House on the Blanco @ Shade Ranch has so much to offer with its 40 peaceful acres, private river access, a fully equipped kitchen, open dining areas inside or on the covered porch (with Weber propane grill), and a large bedroom with a queen size comfortable bed. The house is intended for couples or a small family with young children. We ask that there be no more than 3 adults given space and septic constraints. There is also a great outdoor stone fire pit with stone benches, perfect for roasting marshmallows or warming up on a cool Hill Country evening. Located only 5 minutes from Wimberley Square, this home completes the perfect hill-country getaway without sacrificing any of the charm (or shopping opportunities) that Wimberley has to offer. And with high-speed/wireless Internet and satellite TV, you won't sacrifice the conveniences of modern technology, either. There is also a larger 3 bedroom house on the same property. The houses are completely separate and don't share anything other than the acreage. The houses sit approximately 100 yards apart and have a bank of cedar trees and a large cedar privacy fence that sit between the houses and create separate areas for privacy. You'll need a car to get to and from the property. You can walk to town, but it will take you approximately 20 minutes.

We came for a short weekend getaway. The small house was cute and charming and the ranch itself was amazing. We enjoyed exploring the acreage and walking down by the river. Wimberly was a cute fun town and we will be back. The only issue with the property was the fact there was some sticky residue on the floor as if it wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. I reached out to the owner and they were apologetic and stated they would address it with the people who cleaned the property. Other than that we had zero issues or complaints. Would highly recommend this property to anyone who is interested in getting away.

Our second time to stay here and it was just as perfect as the first. Everything inside is perfectly appointed and we did not lack for anything. The setting is ideal, as well! Love the crisp clean air and beautiful woods to roam. The river was low this time, and we enjoyed exploring all around the area. Thank you, Roby for an A+ experience. We will be back!

We had a great time staying at the cabin! It was perfect for our family! We loved hanging in the hot tub, making a bonfire, and watching all the deer around. This house was great - very clean and had everything we needed for a great weekend. Thanks!

The property was peaceful, clean, had everything that you needed and felt safe and really convenient in proximity to town but especially the river and so much nearby to take advantage of and really loved seeing the wildlife and how comfortable they were as if we weren’t even there. Instructions were all very thorough and made it so easy from check-in to check out. Overall a great stay and so nice to get out of the city.

My wife and I were looking for a place to go for a relaxing weekend. We had such a great time. This place was really peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed relaxing in the river and hot. Wimberley has some very cool and unique shops to visit. We will definitely be back to Wimberley and Shade Ranch is our first choice.

We loved this property. So close to lots of great restaurants and shops but still very private and secluded since it is on 25 acres. The river was great. This is one of the very few places I could find that has river access and still has enough water to swim in. The hot tub was amazing and the cabin very clean and it had everything we needed. We will definitely be back.

Our stay was exactly what we were looking for. Our house was quiet, clean and close to town. It was a short walk from our house down the bluff to the river. It had everything we needed. The house was a perfect size for my husband and myself. Very easy to get to and and east access.

This is such a fun, incredible place to stay. HEB and coffee shops are 5 minutes away. That's just a pro tip because honestly, bring all the food and just hang out at the cottage!! The river is crystal clear and down the coolest carved-in-the-rocks staircase. Pictures don't even do this one justice. Literally one of the best vacations of my life. Top 10 for sure. If you're looking for a chill, relaxing, super fun for the kids, no need to pack makeup trip, BOOK IT.

This property is A HIDDEN GEM! I was by myself and it
was a perfect size for me. There is a forest outside on the property and only a short walk to THE RIVER. No steep, hard to navigate staircases. Even though we are in a drought right now the water was still barely running and there is a big deep swimming hole to swim and float in. Beautiful clean green water.
It's also just a few miles drive to Wimberley Proper and to everything you forgot, HEB for food, and The Wooden Spoon for great ice cream and yogurt. Chill on the River is great for yummy eats. And don't forget to stop at the Boutique ACE Hardware. There is also free computer access at the Wimberley Village Library too.
I have already re-booked for Thanksgiving Week. Roby, the owner, was more than helpful for any of my needs.
There are a lot of BAD VRBO'S out there but this one is definitely NOT one of them. It's just right...as Goldilocks says!

Check in was so easy and efficient. The little cottage was all we needed, size wise. The place was spotless. The deception of the property was spot on andso much more. Robert was always a text or email away if we needed anything, from questions concerning the property to suggestions for places to explore in the surrounding area.

We wanted to rent a place with plenty of privacy, but close enough to acquire groceries and have access to family activities. And that is what we found here. The property is beautiful and surrounded by nature. It had all the amenities required for our trip. We went out on many adventures and returned to relax at this lovely sanctuary. The scenic path to the swimming hole was charming and the destination did not disappoint! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who needs to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and are looking to unwind.

Beautiful surroundings and lovely home well-appointed with everything needed for a great stay. All the comforts of home were provided by the thoughtful efforts of the host. Walking around the property and down to the river was an adventure each and every time! The only improvements that could be made would be the addition of a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. 😊Overall, we give it 5 stars and can’t wait to go back.

We stayed at the little house for 5 nights. It fit our family of 5 comfortablely. Beautiful area, lots of trees and some of the clearest River water We have ever seen. Our only complaint is having to walk past the larger home hot tub to go down to the river which seemed to make the other neighbors uncomfortable. Would recommend building a small privacy fence around the larger home hot tub. Overall, our vacation was great and plan to come back.

This is the second time my husband and I have rented this house, and probably won’t be our last. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed the foxes and deer visiting each morning snd evening. We look forward to coming back when it’s warm and we can take advantage of the river.

The little cabin had everything one would need for a quick getaway. The bed was comfortable, sheets nice! Only wish the tv in the bedroom had capability to watch tv and not only movies on a dvd. Overall great location! Cute little cabin!

Everything was exactly as advertised, and Roby was a pleasure to work with via correspondence and ensuring our stay was perfect. Once again we had a lovely visit at the Little House on Shade Ranch. The house was very cozy after a cool front came in. It’s hard to believe it’s so close to the bustle of Wimberley when there are deer & birds everywhere. The kitchen was well-equipped for our stay. We will return!

This is a lovely,classic Texas hill country property . It has the typical Texas flora and fauna. And the deer came right up close to observe us.
The clear Blanco river flows through the property over fascinating rock formations good for wading through.
