If planning for chettinadu style house better to try kanadukathan city

Morning break fast is authentic food of Karaikkudi

The house is not of The Chetinadu style type , it’s more like a farm house type …

Great hotel , shame about the restaurant and trains

Beautiful building, room was very comfortable and loads of choice for breakfast.

Restaurant not open in evening and not many restaurants in town but found a good fast food place. Hotel very near railway crossing and station so you get the train horns in the night which was amusing but very loud.

Not geared up to resort standards but good value stay

Daytime staff were very courteous and welcoming. Provided valuable tips for local visits. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Good shower and nice lawn to hang out. Staff always had a smile :-) Easy approach and good parking. Checkin and welcome set up high expectations.

After hours service is poor. Request for pillow and refill of mosquito repellant went unheeded. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7:45 but after waiting till 8:10 we decided to.leave as we had a long drive ahead. Found a cockroach in the bathroom overnight. No filter coffee (which is very surprising for a hotel of this calibre) and tea is the dip variety. Right next to train tracks and while trains are infrequent early morning disturbance is almost a certainty. Overall good value if you are looking for a quick overnight stop. Definitely not up to resort standards.

Der außergewöhnliche Stil dieses Hauses ist wirklich schön. Das Personal war sehr bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen und dabei nicht steif, sondern sehr herzlich. Unser Zimmer war richtig groß, wir fühlten uns als Schloßbewohner. Das Frühstück in Buffetform war sehr gut und ausreichend. Das Hotel liegt direkt an einer Bahnstrecke. Die Züge konnte man gut hören, es war für uns allerdings nicht störend. Ein Spaziergang direkt in Karaikkudi lohnt sich, es gibt sovieles zu sehen, vor allem, wie die Menschen wohnen und arbeiten. Das Wäscheservice war tadellos. Der Friseur knapp nach dem Bahnübergang ist ein Erlebnis und für männliche Reisende durchaus eine Empfehlung.

Excellent ambience, good service and i highly recommend this place for stay.

This place is execellent with chettinad style ambience. The staff are very good. The rooms too are good and well equipped with Sukku coffee and other traditional sweets. The reception staff are very pleasing and welcomed us a welcome drink ( Tamilnadu traditional Goli soda).

The rooms are excellent and only thing we felt one almirah could have been provided.

Superb

the room was very nice! I loved the colored windows that lit up the room during the day. everything was clean when we arrived, and the staff were very helpful in answering our questions about the temple and the town. thanks to sathya and everyone for making sure our stay was nice and smooth.

A Perfect Stay

Spacious clean rooms, loved the decor - Chettinad style & minimal. Comes with toiletries & few snacks Location is super convinent if you're arriving by train, it's just a 15 minute walk from the Karaikkudi Station. We were visiting the Chettiyar mansions in Kanadukathan area, Athangudi Palace & VVR house, all of them were located 30-40 mins away There is a breakfast buffet & it was good, there was a good selection to choose from. I loved the black rice Kanji Best part were the staff - they were super friendly & warm. We needed help with getting around, they went above & beyond - thanks to them our trip went smoothly Will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area

Awesome stay

Very aesthetic , clean and comfortable. Staff Suman and Seliyan were extremely helpful. Beautiful garden- authentic and tasty breakfast - comfortable and clean rooms- very welcoming room after a hectic tour of the city and surroundings. Will definitely come back again

A lovely heritage hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms had lovely traditional furniture that fitted in with the style of the hotel. The rooms weren’t huge but that was to be expected as it’s an old building. Lovely gardens to sit and relax in. Nice communal balcony to sit on and have a drink and chat on an evening. The breakfast was Indian style but we did get an omelette and some bread and jam. Wifi and air con worked well. There was a supermarket across the road from the hotel.

Location is a little off the town center. The spiral stairs to the first floor is extraordinarily long. There is no wardrobe in the room

though property was good , staff response made stay awful..

property was neat and clean.

staff were not helpful. waited for more than 30 mins to help with our luggage and finally we had to carry on our own.. we were with 4 kids and 2 senior citizens.. breakfast was served cold..
