A very pretty traditional house in a quiet area of Okayama. I stayed only one night but I would have stayed more if I had had the possibility. Everything is convenient inside (cleanliness, facilities...) and outside (parking space, shops, supermarket) and the price is very affordable compared to other accomodations. I recommend this place if you want to explore the surroundings!

It is a nice house with all the amenities described - rooms, futon beds, bath and toilet, lounge, cooking facilities. It is also, surprisingly, walking distance to a big supermarket nearby where we can buy our food and either cook or heat up in the microwave and have our meals in a home-like atmosphere, which is very nice. The owner is probably an artist as there are lots of paintings and artworks in the house.
The place is quite far from station, in a residential area, difficult to find even with GPS. It was signposted only about 30m from the house, which was not very helpful. Local residents (who recruited the postman on motorbike) led us to the house, what an adventure!

The house is huge. Everything was clean. There’s a washer for clothes with laundry soap, hang dry your clothes outside on the top floor balcony. The host provides lots of amenities, even left ramen and tea and coffee for us to enjoy. I will definitely return and it highly recommend it for small groups of 5-10 people. The location was perfect, close to Okayama University, a small connecting station (to Okayama), and there were tons of restaurants, supermarket, and shops within walking distance. The neighborhood was quiet. They even provide bikes to ride around town!!
Okayama is a great base town to stay in when discovering Japan. With this house, you can’t beat the price. If you use a JR Rail Pass, it could make for a cheap fun trip.
