I guess this is what you get for the price in London

1. Very stylish rounge 2. Luggage Room 3. Convenient location

Bathroom was a little bit gloomy. Elevator was very slow. TV was very small.

A comfortable stay for the price

The room was a reasonable size with a desk. There was plenty of storage space. The bed was very comfy. The shower was excellent and there was always hot water. The room was quiet. There was a good time span for breakfast. The staff were all very helpful and friendly

The decor was a bit on the shabby side and the bathroom fittings could have done with a shine. Breakfast was continental which was fine but was minimal. Only 3 types of cereal, croissants,rolls, cheese, ham and basic fruit. Some salami, chorizo, different cheeses, berries and yoghurt would have been easy to provide. Coffee was from a machine.

Staff

Hotel was tired and dated. Who has an avocado bath suite these days. Needs lots of TLC. Not very generous with towels and sundries. Not value for money.

Very good location and neighborhood

The location is very good, close to Hyde Park and public transportation

The elevator is very old and a bit scary when inside the elevator car. The elevator can’t reach the exact floor, and it’s in between the floors

El mango de la ducha está muy bajo (es muy incómodo ducharse así) Anticuado. Precio elevado.

Charmantes Hotel im Retrostil in sehr schöner zentraler Lage.

Sehr zentrale Lage. Direkt am Hyde Park und nur wenige Gehminute von Paddington entfernt. Wer auf charmanten Retrostil steht ist hier richtig.

Das Bad könnte modernisiert werden.

The location is perfect next to hide park, very lovely vintage hotel, clean

The personnel at the reception wasn’t so welcoming and there was noises in the room. You could hear all neighborhoods…

Pour 3 nuits, Très agréable, je recommande

Je n'ai pas prix l'option petit déjeuner. L'hôtel mettait à disposition dans la chambre une bouilloire avec du thé, café, lait et petits biscuits. Geste que j'ai beaucoup apprécié. Le lit est très grand et très confortable Chambre très calme Le personnel très agréable.

Je ne dirais pas,...." Pas apprécié" car cela ne m'a pas dérangé, il y avait des rideaux et les couvertures étaient chaudes, mais nous sentions l'air à travers les fenêtres.

Das Hotel ist sehr alt und somit knirscht jeder Fußbalken. Die Wasserregulierung im Bad ist außergewöhnlich alt und Warm- und Kaltwasser sind zwei unterschiedliche Leitungen. Ungewöhnlich und nicht zeitgemäß

Clean, affordable accommodation, well located.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the room very clean. Well located, opposite to Hyde Park and situated between Queensway and Lancaster Gate tube stations (both on central line). Within walking distance of Kensington Palace. The Royal Alert Hall is on the far side of the park - but also within walking distance, during daylight hours (I do not know the opening times of the park nor how well lit it is in the evening). One of the Hop on Hop off Bus touring companys also has a stop near by the hotel. The room was very clean and looked to have been reasonably recently refurbished (I would employ whoever hung the striped wallpaper because it was so well done). This is a period hotel and the style of furnishing/bathroom choices reflects both this and the price range. I have stayed at the hotel before and no doubt will again in the future.

There was no welcom pack in the room - which would have been useful. A bedside lamp/wall light - with switched that could be reached from the bed - would also have been nice.

hotel super bien placé et trés sympa

Hôtel très bien situé, quartier calme. Super pratique pour visiter Londres, on peut faire pas mal de chose à pied depuis l’hôtel. J'ai adoré le look vintage de l’hôtel, avec les chambres et les sdb dans leur jus mais très cosy. Personnel adorable, on se sent comme à la maison.

La salle de bain vintage en déroutera peut être certain mais nous ça ne nous a pas dérangé.

Comfortable, great location!!!

I really like this hotel. We were given a lovely room overlooking Hyde park. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, we even had a bath!!! Staff were really nice too. Yes the decor is dated but who cares????? The location is brilliant. 15 minutes walk from Paddington. A walk across the park to Kensington. You can walk to Oxford street etc. Breakfast is nice, just continental but suited us. I would have liked hot chocolate at breakfast, but that's just me!!!

The main lift wasn't working which was a bit of a pain, that's the only thing.

Very good

Has everything you need. Location is excellent! Great for morning walks in Kensington Gardens, breakfast in Paddinngton, and close to the train station. Nothing fancy. Rooms are old but have what you need. Would stay here again. Good value.

Bathrooms could use an upgrade.

Perfect location

Friendly staff and great location. The shower was great, too, very powerful, and the bathroom was spacious. A few minutes walk from Lancaster Gate Underground Station or a little further to Paddington. Hyde Park is across the street, which is delightful for early.moenjng walkers or runners.

The room is very basic and the power sockets in odd places. No bedside light, and the light switch was the opposite side of the room from the bed. Minor issues but worth mentioning.

Charming hotel in a beautiful location

I loved the charm and character of the hotel and the area that it was in.

The lift was slow and it was quite tricky taking my suitcase to my room.

Staff super, very very kind, they helped us any way they could, that made the difference. And also the position is strategic to visit London, close to a metro, bus, the city center is close also if you want to walk.

Good location but needs a rehab - old, creaky, musty.

Great location, good breakfast, friendly staff

The floors are SO creaky that it wakes you up when anyone walks, and the bathrooms smell terrible because there is no fan or ventilation. The carpet it old and the whole place is musty. Elevator didn't work, so we had to walk up a LOT of stairs.

Great stay

Hotel was very clean. Reception staff were professional yet friendly. The room was exceptionally good value..We booked a twin room which was very large..could easily have got at least one more bed in there..No view from the window as we appeared to be at the back but we were only there at night so curtains were closed anyway.., Some have mentioned that the decor needs updating, we thought it added to it's charm. Location was perfect for what we wanted too. All round a great stay and i wouldn't hesitste to book again!!..

Location is fine, staff friendly, beds fine, well kept clean.

Average maintenance poor. sticking doors, walls and doors haven't had a lick of paint for years, no or poor sealant in bathroom. Breakfast: 1 kind of meat and 1 kind of cheese as spreads, bake-off bread of low supermarket quality. looks like a hotel bought as an investment with nothing else done to it. It wasn't dirty or filthy, no 5 star quality was expected, if you only need a place to sleep it's fine, but at a hotel from the vd Valk chain you have a lot more for the same money. we had a wonderful time in London and like I said the said the hotel staff were lovely.

The Location was perfect and the staff were lovely and very helpfull

The standard of the hotel was very poor, the breakfast area did not look hygienic enough to eat there. We had a small double room. We could not lock our bedroom door from the inside, this made us worry at night time, so we put a foot stool up against the door to prevent anyone coming in. We could not open our window and our TV did not work.
