Stayed here in August when Mexico was extremely hot. The hotel was cheaper than others in the area because it was still partially under construction when I visited. The construction did not bother me and I was happy to get a relaxing private beach experience at this price point. However, since this hotel does not have its own bar and restaurant and the breakfast was below average, I would not pay the same price for this one as other hotels in the area which have these services.
Pros:
- Access to private beach is amazing. I enjoyed beautiful sunsets, taking a dip in the ocean without being bothered by tourists.
- The property has a private cenote 2-3 kms away which I did not get to visit because it was under maintenance during the time of my stay but its great that it is an option.
- The property pool is also very relaxing for a quick dip
- Rooms were reasonably clean
- Wifi was good enough for me to work remotely all day.
- Free drinking water was available - big plus in Tulum
- Staff was helpful and friendly
- No AC during the day. Lack of AC makes being inside the room almost unbearable in the day. The only way to cool off is to take frequent dips in the pool / ocean
- The free bikes provided by hotel are in extremely bad condition. Almost unsafe.
- If you plan to go to the city center to party, I would not recommend staying here. Finding a late night taxi to get from the city center to the hotel area is a game of luck.
- The breakfast was not great - could not even get eggs without having to pay extra and the prices are exorbitant in the entire hotel area stretch of tulum
- The hotel does not have its own restaurant or bar which forces you to go to other nearby properties to eat/drink

Our beachfront accommodation was wonderfully rustic elegance with views of the whole beach. The breeze kept the mosquitoes at bay so we didn't need repellant. It was fabulously quiet, with a large, really comfortable bed and air con. Adriana and Gonzalo were super helpful ahead of our visit, arranging a brilliant sian kaan tour with community tours, which included a warm, lazy river and lots of time with manatees. The staff also helped me to release a baby turtle into the sea that had found its way into the hotel, which was magical. They gave us great recommendations for eating out each day. The private parking was also really good and the staff were great at managing the locked entrance. The breakfast was a light start to the day but there were options to buy more.
Nothing at all.

Really friendly staff, small breakfast that was brought to you, beach access, free bike rentals, and access to a cenote free of charge!
The only thing I didn't like was the limited AC hours and the location of the AC unit. I knew this coming in, however, I did not anticipate how hot the room would get. I opened up the windows but that only helped so much since the windows of my room were not facing the direction of the wind. Sadly, it was more cooler outside than it was in my room. I also feel like the AC unit should be moved to a different location to ensure the whole room cools down. I noticed the only area that cooled down was in front of the unit. Thankfully there is a ceiling fan above the bed. This may or may not be a deal breaker for some.

Location on beach, beach front room was fab, staff were lovely, breakfast was very good, turtles coming on to lay their eggs and baby turtles hatching, amazing!
No air conditioning during day, needs a mini fridge, pool needs more attention,

Great location right on Tulum Beach nice and quiet to relax during the day. Nicely located 10min walk from the party zone.
No beach bar or food facilities, however neighbouring properties have and are happy to serve you.

Location
AC didn't work and hotel knew about it, this is why they put one fan, even there were two beds, so only one bed had some heat relief. It is a tropical area in the middle of the summer with high temperatures and high humidity. I was waking up every 30 minutes the whole first night, and I experienced heat stroke or some milder for of heat shock, when in the moring I was nauseaous, couldn't eat, and was dizzy most of the day. Later in the day they "cleaned" AC (I don;t think it made any difference), and provided us an additional fan which made my sleep acceptable. But they ruined my first full day in Tulum.

Beautiful simple rustic beach hotel. We stayed in beach front house, with amazing sea view where you can enjoy sunrise form your terrace. Stuff super friendly! Hotel don't have restaurants/bars, but you have many restaurants and bars in the ares, and supermarket 5 min walk distance. Is perfect place for relax!
All great!

amazing location with great view on the beach for the individual breakfast.

Delicious and simple breakfast delivered straight to the room every morning. Great location on the beach road! Easy access to beach clubs such as cocos (short walk). Loved the free bike rental. Water was provided at the front. The front desk staff were kind and helpful! The beachfront was gorgeous and the pool was clean and refreshing. The place is aesthetically gorgeous. We would stay here again for sure!
Outdoor beach chairs could’ve been cleaner

Nice rather quite place on the beach with cozy rooms, we really enjoyed our time at pool area! Staff was kind and helpful!
Info and photos are misleading. You are booking one room, but you get different looking place. I suggest to owner to separate info and photos to the correct spots. It is not acceptable. Breakfast were really weak and small. No way to start a day with an amount of food you deliver.

Staff was super kind and helpful, breakfast delivered at requested time every morning on the terrace was a lovely start. Hotel is in the perfect location - 5 minute walk to the party/action area but far enough away to not be noisy. The sister cenote was a nice quiet place to spend a few hours

Loved everything,
I will definitely be visiting again hopefully sooner than later! The staff had a great attitude and service towards everything. I wish I wish my stay would've been longer. I left an object behind and contacted them and receive a fast reply with a picture of the object I left behind which they told me they would keep safe for me until I could get it. The location is perfect! If you are a walker, there is no problem walking towards the center of everything because of the scenery and vibes on the way. Mateos was so good! Passion Fruit Margs got me obsessed! The breakfast included with the hotel was so good, light and healthy as well! I went in Jan, so if you go in that month ask for an extra blanket lol.
Stay here!!!!
It got super cold throughout the night and the wifi connection in the room was not the nest but that is it!!!!

Right in the middle of all the action of Tulum beach. On one hand there were party hubs and on the other quiet candle light seaside dining. Across the road were some impeccable dine in options. About a 7 min walk to the grocery store. The pool looked spectacular and clean! Very very warm staff and especially Adriana! She helped us with meal recommendations in and around, and also told us about the cenotes. I wish we could stay here longer but I am definitely coming back here! <3

Such a beautiful place, ocean front! Location and staff are great. Bikes available which makes it super fun
The room is ocean view, feels old and could use better amenities for sure, and places to put toiletries, clothes … too rustic, a few changes and add one can make a difference. I’ve stayed in other rooms and are much better! Love the hotel, it’s location and staff. Have stayed here 3 times.

I love the location and the service. while it’s located in the hotel zone, it’s quiet and not next to any of the major beach clubs however you can walk to the beach clubs. This allows you to sleep and relax in peace. The service is also superb and very accommodating, amazing staff. massage therapists onsite are amazing, so get a massage. gorgeous spacious rooms with very comfortable beds.

Great location, clean beachfront, friendly staff. the property was very nice we had a great time here, they also have bikes you can use for free, you can find anything nearby from stores to restaurants and bars… it great value for the price, we would come back anytime.
In our room there was no fridge, but you have a cooling box and you can buy ice from the nearest store. Honestly we think it is manageable, we ate in the city and the cooler box was great for storing the drinks.

Loved the eco friendly concept, location, staff and healthy breakie delivered to your room daily!
Some of the inconvenient linked to an eco friendly place, lol, such as the bath low water pressure..

The hotel was literally on the beach and was a short 15 minute walk either side along the hotel zone to restaurants/ bars.
The room was more basic than expected, there were lots of bugs in the room and as it was on the beach the room / lodge gets very sandy. Prepare to get bitten and bring your bug spray. The breakfast was very basic ( a plate of fruit) a hot drink, slice of toast and granola and is delivered to your room each morning. We changed our breakfast time one day to allow for a day trip, but the guy on reception didn't pass this information on and we ended up with no breakfast one day. The hotel also charges 120 USD for airport transfer to Cancun Airport.

Posada Lamar was an awesome experience! Our room was so big and more than enough space for the two of us. It was also so cute and truly made us feel like we were on vacation. The value of this hotel is by far one of the best I have ever seen. The hotel is right on the beach, but keeps a natural feel to it which we loved. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating and I cannot recommend this property enough.
The location of this hotel is on a quiet part of the beach which is great if you are looking for a relaxing time, but if you are looking for a spot with more going on you should head to further down the beach a bit. At night this area of Tulum isn't very walkable as the main beach road doesn't really have sidewalks and it is very dark at night.

- Friendly and helpful staff members
- Pool is great (& beds near the pool/on the beach)
- Amazing location on/near the beach
- Free bicycles
- Wifi works well
- We got the opportunity to help them get seaturtles (that were stuck) back into the sea safely. Loved this!
AC only works between 9pm and 7am

A hidden treasure. The pool on the beach is amazing, having walked along most of Tulum beach, so many places don't have this. The rooms are very Boho decoration which was beautiful. The breakfast was lovely, served in your own seating area at the time you want, varied fruits, lovely toast and yoghurt and granola. The a.c. got the rooms nice and cold in the evenings.
Very comfy beds.
We were in a front room near the road, so could hear the bar across the road at night. Just background sound with no words, so we were able to sleep through it.
Shame can't have a.c. from a little earlier than 9pm, maybe 6pm for when you're getting ready for the evening.
A light above the mirror would have been useful.

Loved the look of our room and the bathroom, high ceilings, fans in our room. I loved the size of the bath tub. The price compared to other hotels in the area is good. Also security is good and we felt very safe there.
The A/C is only available for guests to use at night and the temperature is controlled by the hotel. If you are gone all day, this is not a problem; however, if you are not used to the humidity and heat you will not be comfortable at all. The power went off at some inconvenient times due to the generator having an issue. They did resolve it quickly, so that was good.

Everything was perfect!!
