The location was beautiful. The room was exceptional. Great to have an onsen. The staff was amazing so accommodating & helpful. The tour of the island that the front desk booked for us was more wonderful than we ever expected. Thank you.

To have more openings in your dining room for dinner. We were not able to eat there during our stay. It was difficult to go out for dinner as there are no taxis .

The hotel has a great location, looking over the ocean, the views from the rooms, terrace and bathroom (for the rooms with "sea view") are spectacular. There is a well-stocked supermarket within 5 minutes walk. One can rent hiking gear and buy nicely packed lunch boxes for the hikes. We booked breakfast and dinner, and every evening we were treated with a ~7 course menu, extremely good. It was a totally unexpected positive surprise.

If the coffee machine in the restaurant were as good as the coffee machines in the rooms, breakfast would be perfect.

The restaurant was only for those that included meals in the reservation but that was ok with us as there are many options near by.

It‘s close to the Miyanoura ferry. The staff was really friendly. We had a sea view from our room. The lobby is great renovated. It was the first time ever that we chose to sit in a lobby for a while. The souvenir Shop just makes you want to buy a lot after you fell in love with the island. Great is also that you can rent clothes and accessories for hiking.

What we didn’t like is the smell of the Japanese style room everytime you came in. It was necessary to open a window and after a while you get used to it. The breakfast is really japanese. For Vegetarian it‘s really difficult to eat adequately.

Close to the port

It was very overpriced for the quality. We had a mountain view room. The pictures are very different to what you actually get, so felt like a con. Old stained carpets and furnishings etc. I'd happily stay there for a quarter of the price but at the current rate it was cheeky.

Breakfast was excellent and the hotel was literally 3 minutes from the Miyanoura ferry terminal. The hotel seems to have a new wing and an older one. The entrance way was lovely and modern. There was a nice cafe and some pay-per-use massage chairs in the common area near the lobby, which was a nice touch. The hotel was a short walk from the town where there were many restaurants, some shops and a big supermarket. The visitor centre was also nearby. We didn't pay for an oceanview room but had a lovely view of the mountains. Our room was very spacious with a small pantry area, bathtub and wardrobe. Yukata was provided for each guest.

Our friends who flew in received a complimentary pick up from the airport but there was no such service to or from the ferry terminal, which was a shame. It's not far, but with our luggage, still a bit of a trek. It would have been nice if they had a buggy or minivan to run guests to and from the terminal. While the lobby area and cafe were new and modern, we stayed in what appeared to be the older wing of the hotel which seemed a bit tired and in need of sprucing up. The wifi was also quite patchy. We also had some difficulty communicating with the staff as there wasn't always an English speaking person available.

It is a walking distance from Miyanoura port and from airport bus directly goes to that port quite offen. The staff are very helpful, and they did they best to assist me when I needed help. Breakfast has a lot of options, and they offer lunch pack for people who want to go hiking very early and can not have breakfast at the hotel.

We were able to rent a car directly from the hotel, and it was really convenient as I was struggling as a foreigner (who can’t speak Japanese) to figure out how to do it online from a rental car company. The lunch time bento was also great!

Staff was really kind and helpful. Good location close to the city center and to the port if you travel to Yakushima. Room and bathroom were clean, but the bed was a bit too small (for 2).

Great location, specious room with ocean view, and our dinner and breakfast were so delicious & made with super fresh local ingredients (Big plus!) Front office team was friendly and restaurant staff members were attentive! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back again!

Nothing actually, but if I have to be picky it would have been awesome with an outdoor onsen (the indoor onsen was good, though).
