Really dedicated friendly and nice team. helps you with all kind of Requests (taxi, trips, restaurant recomendations). beautiful restaurant/beachbar with small but delicious menu. The fact that the hotel is not that big makes a very comfortable and homely atmosphere. Great in every aspect. keep it up guys!
everything was perfect

Very helpful staff with plenty recommendations. Food is great. Jambiani beach has plenty to do from snorkelling to diving. The tide is out in the morning but you can walk out to it and still swim, and see the sea creatures in the leftover pools. Room cleaning is only by request but done well. No mozzie bites during our stay. a fantastic time and very happy ❤️

Top beach location in a family-like atmosphere. Maximum friendliness of the entire staff. Always providing a helping hand, e. g. for trip bookings. Good network. Besides, the diving center is on the compound offering great deals for beginners and for advanced scuba divers - thx to Peter and his entire team.
What can be missed in a little Paradise?

The hotel is literally right on the beach, the front yard is sand with chaise lounges. We had two rooms on the upper floor with one directly facing the beach. There is a veranda up top so you can sit and enjoy the sunrise in the evenings. We got there after dark and they had dinner and wine available, which was lovely. Breakfast each day served by friendly staff. I enjoyed my conversations with Irwin while we were there. The speech is very shallow so when the tide goes out you can walk out forever, and sit on white sand and warm tropical water, it's beautiful. We went to other beaches around the island during our stay, but the location of this hotel on the beach, the tides and the stars at night made it my favorite. It's the more low key part of the island but there were one or two hotels down the beach where we went for a drink. You can also learn how to wind sail there in the windier season. Overall, really great value for the property.
We liked everything. Just like all the hotels, the 5-minute drive from the main road to the hotel is pretty rocky and rough and takes a little time to find, but we found it on Google maps. Once there it's definitely worth it. All the lodging on the island is pretty much the same way.

The property was right on the beach. The property had a really nice front area with loungers, and chairs (with plug sockets!!). The staff were really helpful and kind. The wifi was the best I experiences in the whole of Tanzania and Zanzibar!
I wasnt keen on the breakfast but I am a very picky eater so I wouldn't think too much into that.

the location by the beach was very useful. the common areas have a good view on the sea.
First, the room description and the related pictures didn’t match with reality: the front beach bungalow does not face the sea with its balcony as the photos would like to show: indeed the room doesn’t even have a balcony. When we called the owner about the issue he just tried to make excuses about it without even trying to fix it. Moreover the room was dirty and in four days, staff never showed up to clean it.
there are no clear option for breakfast and the staff doesn’t give any explanation of the food offer.
Overall we enjoyed our days in Jambiani but we would have appreciated more honesty and respect from the beginning.

Perfect location with a private beach and a specious room. Nice bathroom standard.
The breakfasts were good, but nothing special, also other meals served by the onsite bar were good.
The staff was helpful in arranging tours and taxis.
Main dissapointment - the room was rather dirty from the moment when we checked in. Only in that hotel (we were in 4 on Zanzibar) we have found cackroches in the room! The staff tried to kill them by using anti-insect spry, but it was unsuccessful - just a few minutes later we found another cockroach! Also ants and lizard were in the room.
The room was not cleaned everyday what was a standard in other hotels.
Other thing is that the room was not soundproof enough. I heard everything what was going outside and inside the building.
A few times I have experienced situations, when the staff expected more money for meals ordered in the onsite bar although in the menu prices were lower (e.g. the sandwich price was 20k TZS in the menu and the waiter expected 30k).

Meliks' location is quite amazing and the staff are very good and helpful. The room is good - but that is if you get the room you aimed for...
...we were quite disappointed by our experience as the room we booked was not the room we had. Probably a problem of displaying the correct information between Meliks and Booking but we were eventually the ones suffering from it. The managers made their best efforts to provide another room, but 3 rooms in 5 nights was a bit too much to really enjoy and rest. A mistake in the payment that was fixed days after returning home (and it was fixed - so no complain about that) didn't help in keeping the best memory.

The hotel is located on the beach so the view is beautiful. The staff are super friendly and always there to help. The fois was simple but excellent. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed.
We liked everything. No problems encountered.

Rooms were okey. Breakfast was also satisfactory. Behavior of personnel was quite helpful and kind. Price was good. Erwin and his wife were very kind and helpful, special thanks to they.
We booked 2 rooms, (1 with sea view, 1 normal) but they ignored this and gave us 2 rooms with no view. Furthermore, the rooms those they gave us were very very noisy that you can never sleep during the day, also evening. Rooms windows' were opening to the kitchen. Very noisy except the night.
Internet was poor.
We had a dinner at hotel but it took more than 1 hour to be ready and taste was not good at all, even the price was too high. Time waste.
My friend was very unhappy with the bed saying it was uncomfortable but it was good for me.

The photos gave a much better impression than it actually looked like.
Water leak from toilet, lots of ants in the room (big and small), little or no furniture.

OK, where to begin? :) This place is now my second home. The location is just beyond perfect. Right on the beach. Our room was big enough, with 2 really comfortable beds. But, outside part of the hotel is so great, with lots of places to chill and relax, you actually don't spend much time in your room. Chilling outside, with the view over clear blue sea - what more could you wish for?
And the staff, they soon become your second family. I loved talking to them. They also helpd us with lots of good advices where to go and what to do.
Breakfast was to die for, made for us when we woke up.
Do yourself a favor, and book a stay at Melik's hotel.

the place where Meliks is situated is not crowded with people, we enjoyed it. also the employees were helpful. the food they cooked were tasty but a little too expencive for this location
the hotel is just in front of the “poor village” with no real fence, rooms are safe, but during night some weird people were wondering before our room

This is an amazing location where you feel like you are staying in a friends house rather than a hotel. The young man who runs the place is named Innocent and he is wonderful. He cooked for us a few times and really made us feel at home. It was a very relaxing environment where you loose track of what day of the week it is. I cried when I left.

The place is intimate and very simple with a small number of tourists which was an advantage for me. Thanks to this, you feel greater as if you were staying at home and not in a hotel. Everyone is friendly and very obliging. The atmosphere and the ubiquitous chillout are helpful in spending nice days of vacation. The location is very good in particular and Meliks is located on the beach close to several restaurants and nice local places to drink fresh juice and shelter a bit from the sun. The breakfasts are good with lots of fresh fruits. You can also eat a good dinner on site according to your own individual choice. Recommend!
Should be more security equipment, e.g. better room closures or a private safe, which is very much needed for Zanzibar conditions.

Lovely owner & staff, excellent beach location and access road, great breakfasts, clean.
WiFi connection was very good most of the time.
Lacked hot water in my bathroom
Rooms on the small side
Slight lack of privacy as when windows are open you could see straight into the room behind and vice versa (not all rooms but a few )
Lots of guest noise which carried throughout the hotel due to the layout, also frequent noise from side street cars and people coming and going. The windows need proper glass not only shutters as they don’t keep noise out.

The place is absolutely amazing! Great location, beautiful house and lovely staff, all of them! The owner and his wife are really nice and helpful people and Alex will be of great help for any outing you plan! For instance he introduced us to Hadj who took us snorkeling. A great guide , a very kind and helpful man who speaks good English, (which makes things a lot easier)... so if you plan on going snorkeling, insist on going with Hadj!

Tasty and very good breakfast
Very nice and service oriented staff and especially Julius McDonald was incredibly enjoying and charming.
We appreciated the dinner served at the hotel (not included and payed separately).
The so called sea view was non existing from the room Blue located on the second floor in ”Bungalow with Sea View” . Upon arrival we asked the staff if we actually had got the correct room and they confirmed. If you expect to see the sea from the room you will be very disappointed. … especially if you have selected and paid for a room with sea view.
The maintenance of the room Blue is rather poor.
