Get away from typical tourist rentals and stay in this renovated and fully restored mid-century ranch-style Hawaiian home that harkens back to another era. Originally built in 1948, this home is situated at the base of the Aina Haina valley, a neighborhood that has been coveted for generations by local families for its location, safety and convenience. Our little valley is just 20 minutes from the airport, and once you’re here, all of Honolulu and East Oahu are yours to explore. From our doorstep you’re less than 10 minutes to Diamond Head. A 15 minute drive gets to you to Waikiki, and less than 20 minutes to historic chinatown. In our home you can enjoy the best of both worlds: exploring all the sun, surf and outdoor activities of Hawaii during the day, and all the cultural and culinary experiences afforded you by being so close to the center of Honolulu. But that is only half the story! In the other direction we are just minutes away from Hawaii Kai, where you can stop for a shave ice on your way home from visiting Koko Head, or snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Explore just a little further down the road and you can drive the dramatic Ka’iwi coast: home to great hiking trails and some of the most striking Hawaii coastline. East Oahu is also famous for some of the most beautiful beaches on Oahu including: Eternity beach, Sandy’s, Makapu’u, and Waimanalo beach park. But the best part of your day (when you’re done hiking, swimming or exploring) is the time you will spend with friends and family away from the crowds in your own urban oasis. While the home is near a busy street, you will find that the property is totally enclosed and very private, surrounded by beautiful landscaping. Step inside and enjoy the gracious indoor and outdoor spaces that allow the cooling trade winds to flow through its open ranch style design. Relax on the lanai, or sit by the pool and watch the clouds float over the Ko’olau mountains in the back of the valley. The home has been owned by the same local family for four generations and has recently undergone a top to bottom renovation, completed in December 2019. It includes the addition of an architecturally designed pool house and saltwater pool with its own sleeping area, separate bathroom and outdoor kitchen as well as a new front lanai, a custom designed Henrybuilt kitchen and bar area with SubZero and Wolf appliances and custom Heath Ceramics tile in every bathroom. The back patio accommodates outdoor dining for 8. We're an eco-conscious home and 100% of the electricity comes from solar power (with a net-zero carbon footprint). The home renovations were designed to allow for maximum air flow, natural cooling and conscious power consumption. The pool house and master bedroom of the main house are air conditioned and while the rest of the main house does not have AC, the open design and overhead fans keep the house cool, allowing the ocean air, Tahitian gardenia, and night blooming jasmine to waft through the home. Our COVID-19 cleaning protocols include professional cleaning and disinfection. Please contact us for off-season or long term stay pricing options. ***IMPORTANT DISCLOSURES Please note that your booking is not confirmed until we have received a signed rental agreement and guest registration. -In accordance with City and County of Honolulu, this property is a legally established rental accommodation that may not be rented for less than 30 consecutive days. It is compliant with Hawaii State Legislation (HB2078) and is available to lease from 1 to 6 months. Rental prices will not be reduced or adjusted based on the number of days the rental is actually used or occupied. You are not required to occupy the property for the full 30 days and if you occupy the property for less than 30 days, the property will remain vacant for the remainder of the 30 day period and no refund will be provided for any unused days. There is ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING (including e-cigarettes), NO PETS and NO PARTIES allowed on the property at any time. Our home sleeps a maximum of 8 adults. All guests must be registered prior to check in and only registered guests are allowed on the property at any time. The property is located in a residential area and QUIET HOURS ARE FROM 10pm - 8am. All activities must be moved indoors after 10pm. THE POOL AREA IS NOT FENCED SO PLEASE TAKE EXTRA CARE WHEN CHILDREN ARE ON THE PROPERTY. We are located on a busy street and there is noise from the road, especially in the outdoor areas. The sleeping area in the pool house has 2 walls of glass so offers less privacy than the other bedrooms and is detached from the main house. We require a weekly cleaning for stays of 14+ nights, at a cost of 475 + tax per cleaning to be paid as an additional payment request through VRBO. We require a security deposit of $1000 and Damage Insurance via VRBO. Deposit refundable within 7 days of checkout. other than the washer and dryer having issues, the property was AMAZING! excellent location, close to everything one needs during their stay and with a short walk you're on the beach. Just an incredible find.

My family and I loved everything about this property and location and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful along the way. Great kitchen appliances to cook our own meals and a convenient location for nearby shops and to go downtown for dinners. Friendly neighborhood as well as it was easy to go for runs nearby each morning. Thanks again for the hospitality.

Fabulous house with everything you need or want in a vacation home! Charming mid century home designed exquisitely. Great hangout space for all of us, on the patio, around the pool, we all felt very comfortable.
An added bonus was the well equipped kitchen, and top of the line appliances.
Nicole and Brittany were very welcoming and responsive to any questions we had, and offered us many recommendations for dining and best beaches. Book your stay now!!!

Do not hesitate to book this as your vacation home away from home. This house has all the amenities. An indoor kitchen, an outdoor kitchen, and wet bar. This is one of the most well appointed homes I've booked. The kitchen had everything we needed to really feel like we could settle into the house. I'm talking about so many kitchen appliances, utensils, seasoning and spices.
Considering how tight space is in Hawaii. This house is a real gem. The number of bedrooms, bathrooms, inside and outside seating space, the pool, and surrounding greenery combined in one property are rare. The rooms are all a good size. You could easily have 8 people in the house and not feel on top of each other.
There is a valid point that this house is right off of a major street and you can hear the traffic noises but you have to keep in mind that this house has unparalleled amenities, space, and is in a pretty central and convenient area of Oahu. It's all about location. The landscaping blocks the street view and while there you feel like you're in your own oasis.
The owner and property manager are friendly, caring, and accessible. They consistently check in with you to see how the stay is going and if there is anything that you need.
There were 7 of us who came from different countries and places in the U.S. ages ranging from 20 to 70 years old. We stayed for 10 nights. Everyone loved the house and enjoyed their stay here. This house is so worth it

We had the best time in Hawaii, largely in part because of how amazing this house was. Because we traveled with a 3 month old + 3 year old, having a home that could accommodate the needs of our family was super important. Having the grass for my 3 year old to run around on, the separate kitchen to make bottles in the night, and pool house for space/a break was so incredibly helpful! Nicole and her house manager, Britt, were so responsive and genuinely cared that we were comfortable and having a great time. Everything was so clean and tidy + the house was just beautiful beyond words. Can’t wait to stay again!

This was one of our top 10 vacations, and it had to do with this beautiful house. This home is beautifully designed and decorated. We had five adults in our party and the way the home is set up there was plenty of privacy for all of us. There were lots of places to gather to talk and play games. The pool is refreshing . We used it every day. Only two of the bedrooms are air-conditioned but with plenty of fans we found the house very comfortable. The only place where the house got overheated was in the main kitchen. Above the kitchen island is a skylight that tended to concentrate the heat. The host was prompt with any of our questions, and after we left, we continued to talk about the history of the house, and the beautiful workmanship and art on the walls. It was an easy walk to the grocery store, and the home is in a clean, safe neighborhood. We will definitely rent again when we come back!

This place is perfect when you need a bit of space (work, exercise ecc). It has a very nice manicured garden and a great swimming pool. The house has literally everything you need. Well placed to drive to great beaches or to Honolulu for a drink or dinner.
The host and the young couple taking care of the house are exceptional and super helpful.
The only downside for us was the proximity to a multi lane road next to the house. Not a big problem unless there are police or ambulance siren sounds.
We will come back for sure.

Beautifully decorated house with all the essentials, art works, beach gear, and more. We were pleasantly surprised with the snacks, bottle of wine, and all the fresh fruit that we enjoyed during our stay. Very thoughtful. There was some road noise since it’s next to a major street but we quickly got used to it. We spent every meal outside on the patio. Would love to come back!

The photos do not do this place justice!! We were all amazed and in shock by the beauty of Nicole’s home. Everything was very clean, tidy, and well equipped. Toa showed us around and was nothing but amazing and very friendly when going through the home walkthrough with us. Nicole and Brittney were very quick to answer any of my questions. We rented this place for our wedding and they were very accommodating to our requests and even offered us a late check out time! There is also ample parking and the neighborhood is very nice, quiet, and convenient (close to Waikiki and the airport). I would highly recommend staying here!!

I will tell you how much I loved this home - if wishes could come true, I'd want to LIVE in it for all the rest of my days! And if not in Hawaii, I even told Nicole that I'd love to build one IDENTICAL to it! I loved the open plan - I loved the modern touches - I loved the layout of it - I loved every single thing about it. If I'm ever lucky enough to make it back to Oahu one more time, I know where I'll insist on staying! Our group of EIGHT had MORE than ample room to spread out and in comfort. The garden and pool area were beautiful as well. I cannot say enough about this perfect home - I miss it so much!

We loved staying here. It's a beautiful and spacious home and the photos don't do the place justice. Lots of light, lovely outdoor areas, beautiful design, super well appointed with everything we needed and more.
The home is close to a main road so there is noise from that but we didn't find it to be a problem for our group.

This house is lovely and so functional. It was a treat to experience living in this home with such lovely decor and comfort. There is not much missing to be able to function seamlessly.
Our only negative is that a six lane highway is on the other side of the wall built around the property so there is constant noise from traffic.

This home met our expectations and more! We are so happy we chose this property.
We were so impressed with the amount of details. We had a fantastic experience. Check-in and check-out were very easy. Nicole and Britt stayed in touch with us to make sure we had everything we needed.
The location was great - walking distance to the shopping centers and located close enough to points of interest on the island.
We were afraid the noise could be an issue, but it really wasn’t. Once you were indoors you couldn’t hear a thing.
Everything about this home was great, from the beautiful landscaping to the great appliances, well stocked kitchen ,linens, furnishings. The house was spacious and more important clean.
Both yards were great for hang outs, morning coffee, meditation, and yoga.
If we were to suggest anything , it would be the kitchen/Den needs a ceiling fan or a small AC unit. The amazing skylight in the kitchen provides amazing light but also a lot of heat and the Den gets hot and not very much of a breeze comes thru as in the rest of the house.
Also, a few more firm pillows would be great for the large groups.
The pool suite should have shades or curtains for evening rest.
Because of the length of our stay, we had 2 visits from the gardener and 2 from the pool man. Gardner's timing was a little more inconvenient.

THE place to stay on Oahu
As has been stated in other reviews, pictures do not do this property justice. The house, guest house and pool were meticulously clean AND wonderfully stocked. Check-in was a breeze and both Britt (who met us) and Nicole (who we texted with) were professional and immediately responsive. We'd move here if we could! Absolutely my family's favorite VRBO.

Beautiful home for the week! My family and I truly enjoyed staying in this home away from home. We hope to be able to stay again in the future. The home is spotless with high end appliance. It is very spacious, with lots of options to enjoy indoor and outdoor space. The location was central location without being too close to Waikiki. Nicole and her team were great hosts!

Christmas in the islands
Staying at the historic Aina Haina residence was beyond fantastic! The property has everything needed for cooking delicious dinners, fixing spectacular tropical drinks in specialty glassware, basking in the sunshine in the privacy of a lush backyard, swimming in a lovely backyard pool and relaxing on a spacious lanai perfect for entertaining.
The property is conveniently located close to Waikiki as well as many other points on the island. An added bonus was that since we were there for Christmas, we had nightly Christmas carol sing-a-longs around the beautiful grand piano.
The history of the house is remarkable and we so enjoyed the owner, Nicole, sharing with us the glory days of old. We felt so comfortable in this paradise home and enjoyed every moment. We could not have asked for a better location, more beautiful home, and extremely helpful and accommodating managers and owners. It was an exceptional Christmas in the islands!!🌺

Total paradise!!!
This house is absolute paradise. My family had a wonderful time here. We stayed here for 10 days. The house has everything we could possibly want - it is super clean, great kitchen and living spaces, comfortable furniture in every room and it is in a great location. The pool was fabulous and we spent a lot of time sitting outside in the outdoor area relaxing. The pictures don’t do it justice!! I’m so glad I chose this property for our trip to Oahu. The owner and property manager were both great and went out of their way to make sure our family had everything we needed. I can’t say enough about this house. It was total paradise and my family and I can’t wait to come back!

You can tell Nicole & her family put a lot of thought and care into the home, which is fully furnished with wonderful amenities and finishing touches. We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious living spaces and backyard oasis (including the grill!).
Nicole is so friendly, helpful, and responsive – the best kind of host you’d want, especially for a longer stay like ours. She made us feel right at home, gave us wonderful tips, and promptly resolved anything that came up.
Since we were there at the beginning of the year, the house didn’t get too hot but it was a bit humid with the rainfall. And there is street noise so if you are a light sleeper, consider bringing ear plugs. But the location can’t be beat! We took advantage of the local surfing beach being a 5 minute walk, and our newly favorite poke, dessert, and hiking spots all within a ~10min drive.
We were sad to leave but are hoping for another opportunity to enjoy this wonderful home!

Zen House
My stay in this beautiful house has been nothing short of amazing. Also, the pictures on the beautiful listing does not do the actual house justice. When you walk in, you feel at home right away. I stayed for the whole month of September and it's definitely the perfect place to get reacquainted with the islands. It's a 3 minute walk to the beach, a 12 minute drive to Waikiki and a 5 minute walk to all the stores/restaurants! I love how open, spacious and healing the place looks and feels. It's the perfect place to do yoga, meditation and reconnecting with nature. I highly recommend sleeping the beach room on the first night! On top of that, the grand piano sealed the deal for me! Nicole and Jade have been the most amazing hosts and I could not ask for a better stay. I got nothing else to say but pure love for this amazing spot!

A beautiful and spacious stay in paradise!
The entire home was wonderful. Plenty of space indoors and out with great privacy for being in such fantastic location. Our group was greeted with a generous gift basket of food & drinks and the home was even supplied with all the beach necessities! It was an amazing experience and Nicole couldn't have been a better host! If you are considering a trip to Oahu and want a place that has it all, look no further!

The only thing that would have made this rental a 10/10 noise from the road. The house was incredibly clean and the host was very kind and responsible (very polite), we had very pleasant stay.

Nicole and Johnathan’s place was just as beautiful as Hawaii!
Nicole and Johnathan’s were the perfect house for a perfect trip to Hawaii!!! I’m so glad i chose to stay here!!! There was no part of the house we didn’t love! First let me start by saying Nicole and Johnathan’s were great host even before i arrived they answered my million questions everyday lol!!
The house is right off the main road which wasn’t a big deal i promise! Once you got into the home it was like a whole new world!! From the outside looking in i would’ve never imagine the inside being so big and spacious!! The kitchen was amazing! I mean there was nothing lacking nothing missing! Everything you could think of that you would need to cook was there except the food lol! The bedrooms all had plush beds with perfect linen for a good nights sleep!!! Felt like i was on clouds! The bathrooms were nice, but there was one bathroom that had a SOAKING TUB! I spent most of my nights there after a long day! The living room was wide open with doors on both side that push through the most amazing Hawaiian breeze! You would never know the house had no air! The backyard was perfect place to relax and unwind with the family so spacious! There was lounge funitire and a table that sat 8 people, including a gas grill and POOL! There was a pool house, oh gosh you must sleep there best place in the house to sleep lol! There’s an outdoor kitchen with stove and sink!! There’s a laundry room!! I mean i have absolutely no complaints about the house NONE!!!
The location of the property is just perfect. Everything was within a 15 minute drive! Everything that was suggested we do we did and it was worth it!!!!! The drive along the coastline is just indescribable! Waze will tell you a shorter route please don’t take it go the longer route!!! The views of Hawaii can’t be explained!!
There’s so much to say and i know i missing a lot as I’m so excited typing this!!! Don’t scroll by this listing, you’ll be happy you listened to me!!!
