From booking to checkout, this was a wonderful experience. I’ve traveled to 70+ countries and had loads of experiences ranging from disgraceful to magical. This was bliss. My parents (80s) to teenagers - all were comfortable & had a great time. Best stocked kitchen ever & im a cook. Thanks Kevin & Lisa. Hope to come back next summer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The house was great, well appointed, very clean, with a wonderful deck for outside grilling and dining. There’s also a fun fire pit for after dinner gathering. Nice dock. There’s a really nice Village Market less than 5 minutes away and the nearby town of Alden has some fun shops. Went to Petoskey for more serious shopping and had a fabulous lunch there at Chandler’s. A special time in a special place!

We are vrbo owner’s ourselves so very critical of properties and stays, with that said this property was five stars. Clean, well stocked and beautiful location beside some 3 and 4 million dollar homes. Owner was prompt in replying to our questions and we booked again for next year. We tied our 25ft boat to mooring ball, worked well aside for some large storms. Maybe would recommend a little heavier weight (800lbs) for extra security but it served us well. Someone commented on security cameras, every high end property has them outside including the one we own. It was well covered in the booking and in follow-up communication. Not an issue.

This property was a delight! It was spotless, well equipped & well maintained. A couple of minor issues were addressed quickly. The owner was a pleasure to work with:)

We recently stayed at this rental. While it is a nice home on a nice lake, we were extremely disappointed to find that there were several cameras (which also appear to be able to record audio) on the property. There was a device on the front door. There was a device on the back deck, which appeared to be able to audio and visually record our family as we talked and played in our swimsuits. There was also a device in the family room that appeared to be a motion sensor and also record sound. The 2nd day we were there, I commented to my husband that a blanket he had gotten out of a basket by the back door had dirt on it. We were in the family room. An hour later, I checked my phone and the owner had texted saying that if for some reason we had to wash one of the blankets in the basket by the door, that we should be sure to wash it on cold. This is when I became suspicious of recording devices and started to look for them. There was no mention of any type of recording device on their VRBO page or in any of our conversations. As renters, we have a reasonable expectation of privacy in the back yard and inside the house. We felt this a violation of our privacy and our children’s privacy, and were quite uncomfortable. We have reported this to VRBO.

We had a great time! Our family of five stayed for a week and can’t wait to come back! The house was spotless. Waking up every morning on the lake was beautiful-and the sunsets from the deck every night-you can’t compare. The bonus room-with foosball table kept us entertained for hours. We rented a motor boat, jet skis and used the kayaks provided by the owners. Everything was in working order and we didn’t need a thing. Lisa was very receptive and offered great suggestions for activities and restaurants. Overall, the house and location were better than we imagined! Would highly recommend!

OK. This place (and the Hogans) are amazing. We have stayed at VRBO rentals across the country and their Torch Lake property is by far the best! We have been back home for a day and already want to go back. Lisa is very attentive to every detail - kitchen was pretty much fully stocked with all essentials (except food) and WHO DOES THAT? Lake Life themed bath essentials also! The property was immaculate. Anything that you could have forgotten to pack was there! My best things about the week were the lake sunsets (including right from the master bedroom), bald eagle nightly in the dead tree down a few properties and boating on the crystal clear water of Torch Lake. I cannot wait to book next year and will continue to try to talk Lisa into selling me the property! YOU WILL LOVE IT.

We woke up in the mornings did a little exercising on the beautiful deck (I kayaked one quiet morning, pure bliss), had amazing brunches, rented a boat from Dockside (they truly took care of us), danced, sang, and we built bonfires almost ever night. Lisa was exceptional! Easy and fun to communicate with throughout the trip. Looking to go back next year!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a wonderful time at this beautiful beach home. The host was easy to communicate with, and very accommodating. The home was immaculately clean, and the host did a wonderful job of anticipating any need you may have while enjoying the lake. We brought a boat with us and were easily able to moor it in front of the home. Being lake lovers most of our time was spent on beautiful Torch Lake, we both live on beautiful lakes but we still can't get over the beauty of this crystal clear, blue (Caribbean-like) water!! The setting is peaceful and serene and a great place for some R & R. Oh......and I'd be re-missed if I did not mention the beautiful sunsets that were enjoyed each nite from the awesome deck. We will be making a return visit to this one!! Mike & Val
