Enjoyed ringing in the new year in this home. Everything was exceptional - from the layout of the home to the number of beds and baths to the sweet note/wine/music when we arrived. We couldn’t have asked for a better or more welcoming home to spend time with family and friends.

Extremely well cared for, clean, lots of space for a large group. Plenty of outside seating and eating areas, pool, beach stuff, very close to beach. Elevator. The only thing I would have wanted was more dish towels for the kitchen as we cooked a lot. Owners very responsive and flexiblle.

We loved our stay here. It had ocean views, was quiet, had plenty of parking, was extremely clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Hosts were very responsive when we reached out. There were more than enough beach chairs and supplies for the 9 of us. We did wish we could have found the fire pit that was listed. Would definitely stay here again.

Our family of 8 plus baby truly enjoyed our stay here. It is very well appointed with responsive and friendly homeowners. The view and sound of the ocean was wonderful without having to be beachfront! We intend to visit here again!

Our family, ranging in age from 11 to 81, all loved this place. We enjoyed the large and well-appointed kitchen, the comfortable living area, and the two decks. Reading or chatting on the third-floor deck, with views of the ocean, was super. It's a short walk to the clean beach, and an even shorter walk to a bridge over marshland, with views of egrets. The pool and pool toys got plenty of use, and the large number of beach items added to the fun there. We took advantage of the community park about two miles away for tennis, soccer, the farmers' market, and a concert, and the basketball goal in our driveway was used, too. A visit to the larger pier nearby was fun, as well as watching lines of pelicans--as many as 15--soar over the ocean in formation. Our hosts responded promptly to a maintenance problem, and we highly recommend this beach house!

We had such a fantastic time at this house! Probably the favorite spots were upper deck and pool! Location to beach, restaurants was quick and easy. However we found ourselves staying in the house more than usual. Sofa in living room was big enough to seat many people. Kitchen was well stocked, so we cooked in a lot. We definitely recommend this house, and would rent again when we head for the coast!

Quite simply the best beach house we have ever stayed in. Quality appointments and equipment and every piece of beach equipment you would need so you don't have to cram in chairs and carts etc. when you come. Great sea views from the balconies and a very convenient short walk to the beach. The pool was fantastic and serviced frequently to keep it clean. Also the elevator was a godsend in getting all the luggage and food etc. up to the second level. Joe and Stephanie were very friendly and responsive with any questions we had. Would definitely go back.

Beautiful home with all you need for home away from home. The owners didn’t skimp on decor or quality of items for use. Owners were only a text away for any questions. Will definitely consider staying here again.

The Shields Family are really terrific - they think of everything to have in their home and are very welcoming! When we arrived we found a LOVELY card from their family welcoming us to their BEAUTIFUL vacation rental with a bottle of wine and some fancy bath soap! It was unexpected. The home is fairly newer and you can tell the Shields Family take a lot of pride keeping up their property. We had a party of 11 - 8 adults and 3 children! This was a family vacation, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and kids as well as spouses. Despite being on the 2nd road from the beach, this house has AMAZING BEACH views, especially from the very PRIVATE 3rd floor balcony. This balcony has very comfy seating and many of our family members found themselves falling asleep up there hearing the ocean and the breezes were very cooling and refreshing. Our family spent a lot of time on the 3rd floor balcony. The 2nd floor balcony is very nice too and has good views. What is WONDERFUL about this rental is that there is no property in front of the house, so the views are wonderful! In addition to the Shields family being great hosts, and the house having great views, an AMAZING well-maintained and clean pool (which we spent many many hours at this pool - grandparents and kids really loved it!) the house itself was so wonderful! The 3rd floor has a master bedroom with attached bathroom and a 1/2 bathroom outside of it so that guests enjoying the kitchen and the living room could easily hang out. Again, our family found ourselves up on the 3rd floor most of the time. The 2nd floor had another amazing master bedroom with attached bathroom as well as 2 other well situated bedrooms. The bedrooms on the 2nd floor were nice as it allowed family members who wanted to stay up late and play card games to do so easily without having to worry about news. Our family really hopes to come back next year to this house, especially if the Shields family welcomes us back. This was our first time at Oak Island and the Shields Family home made this first visit so memorable! We've stayed many times at Holden Beach (which we love!) and at Ocean Isle, but Oak Island is our favorite spot now especially if we can stay again at this home. You'll like this home a lot if you want a quiet part of the island with SUPER EASY beach access with less car traffic. The home is very close to good restaurants and grocery stores. Not far from fun spots like Southport!

The layout of the house, the well-equipped kitchen, as well as all of the extra amenities, made this the perfect house for our short beach trip. Our family enjoyed staying in this well kept, clean, beautiful home. The decks saw a lot of action- a breeze was readily available and the weather was beautiful, ( as was the view). Couldn’t believe the ease of access to the beach. Joe and Stephanie were so easy to reach out to with any questions and answered right away. They have thought of everything you might need for the beach and pool. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and dishes. Thank you Joe and Stephanie for the use of your home and assistance when we needed it. It will be our go to for trips to Oak Island!

We’ve rented vacation homes before in Duck and Bald Head Island and none were as great as this property! The house was well apportioned with everything you could possibly need was available. The listing was extremely accurate and the pictures don’t do it full justice. The house is impeccably clean and the amenities were awesome. The indoor elevator made it easy to bring our luggage and groceries up and down, and for anyone who is mobility impaired the elevator is extremely helpful! We brought some of our own gear and didn’t even really need it all because the owners had it for us. The beach was just a short jaunt away, which made the whole party come and go as they pleased vs having to wait for others to drive them back. The beach itself has been built back up by the town from the 2020 storm and the amount of beautiful shells we found will be forever keepsakes. The pool was AWESOME. Super refreshing after taking a nice warm shower from rinsing off the sand from the beach. We sat in it for hours and the teenagers really enjoyed it without the adults - but you can easily see the pool from the 2nd and third floor bedroom windows to do quick checks on everything being a-ok. Joe and Stephanie were responsive to every question we had and extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this property and will come back again!

This house has it all, great lay out, amazing pool, and excellent kitchen!!! Perfect location on Oak Island and easy, close beach access!

We had a fabulous week long vacation on Oak Island. The house is beautiful and modern. The new pool was a hit with both the adults and kids. Short walk to beach access. Area was nice and laid back - residential area without any big touristy attractions. The amount of amenities available in the house was amazing - from beach towels, beach carts, umbrellas, toys, games, extra bedding, kitchen small appliances and pantry items. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would come back to this house. The owners were easy to get in contact with when necessary.

We absolutely loved the house and hosts! The house was so nice, well stocked, and awesome for our family of six with 4 kids ages 2-11. Great beach supplies, wonderful pool and overall amazing house! We loved everything it offered and would certainly stay here again on another trip to Oak Island. Everything seemed brand new and well designed. Couldn’t have asked for more!
