The Surf View Bungalow has recently been renovated in a modern, coastal vibe. It's laid back feel is a great getaway. The Space: This fabulous bungalow is one of the closest homes to the ocean in Cardiff. We have the best direct views of the surf! This recently renovated property to make it a relaxing place for guests to visit. We strive to make this an ideal getaway for you! This is 2 unit duplex, you are renting the bottom floor. The backyard and front grassy area are shared with the unit above. You will climb stairs to enter the property, once inside, it is single level. Parking for 2 cars on the driveway. Permit # RNTL- 027729-2023 Guest Access: Beaches, Shopping and Dining are all within 15-25 minute walk (South to Cardiff and North to Encinitas) Car necessary to see San Diego tourist attractions. The Neighborhood: Cardiff-by-the-Sea is a laid back coastal town conveniently situated between Encintias and Solana Beach. We have 2 fantastic beaches (Cardiff State Beach, San Elijo State Beach) just across the highway. Both are great for sunbathing, walking, surfing and boogie boarding. Seaside Market, Starbucks, dining and shopping are just down the street. Head into Encinitas or Solana Beach Cedros Shopping District for more options. Getting Around: Beaches, dining, shopping is all within a 15-25 minute walk (1-1.5 miles). There is a pedestrian walkway just across the road for safe for walking, bike riding. Car is necessary if you plan to visit San Diego. Other Things to Note: Regarding the train. It is primarily used by Sunliner/Amtrak as a 5 car passenger/commuter train. 2 trains (one north, one south) about every hour during commute times, and it tapers down at night and middle of the day. The train passes the house in 5-7 seconds. Occasionally there is a freight train, which takes about 30 seconds to pass by the house. Most guests find it a fun, kids like to watch for it. I came to this house with my two daughters the day after my husband's memorial service. The three of us needed to get away, and the younger daughter had been asking for a year for a California 21st birthday. The house is lovely, as nice or nicer than what the photos show. We each had our own bedroom. All the beds and furniture were very comfortable, nice linens, very well equipped kitchen great views. We had great meals in nearby restaurants, enjoyed the beach, and took our rented car to San Diego one day for a spa day. Only downside of the trip was that we did not mask on the plane on the way to CA (first time in several years) and all three of us came home with Covid!

Had a great stay at this property with my family. The location is perfect for a quick trip into Encinitas, and is walking distance from Cardiff and the local shops. I would recommend renting the top unit as a first choice to avoid the sound of footsteps from a group above you. Would 100% stay again!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Surf View Bungalow! The property was immaculate, fully stocked with everything you could need. The access to beach gear was a huge plus, exceeded our expectations by far! Gina was quick to respond to any questions I had while we were there. This was truly a wonderful experience. Those views? Amazing! We spend quite a bit of time in San Diego, and are definitely planning to stay here again.

Awesome property in the heart of Cardiff. Close walk to groceries, restaurants, and the beach. Lots of beach equipment, tandem bikes, chairs, surfboards, and towels provided.

This property was not only beautifully decorated, but it’s in the perfect location. We were able to walk to restaurants, bakeries and a supermarket. Seeing dolphins from the balcony was just an added bonus. We would love to come back!

This property was gorgeous! The views and access to the beach, walking, restaurants...was just perfect. Open the windows and the coastal breeze is awesome! Take some binoculars and you can see birds, sea lions and dolphins in the morning passing by. It was a very cool thing to see. There is another level on top that is available for rent as well. I will be renting the entire home in the summer for my wife and I, and our parents for a little family vacation.

Comfortable home and a great location. Also, the most well-stocked and well-equipped kitchen of any VRBO we have ever stayed in! Reserved parking, which is rare for VRBOs in the area, was a definite plus. Highly recommend!

Cozy and very well appointed. We even had a pretty Christmas tree and delightful decorations including a hit chocolate bar! Lots of attention to detail and special touches . Fully equipped kitchen and spectacular location, views and deck. Best sunsets ever !!’

This was our second year hosting a west coast family Thanksgiving, and this property could not have been more perfect for the occasion. The views are stunning, the kitchen is spacious and extremely well-stocked (better than my own!) and there was plenty of room for six adults to enjoy a large meal (and hours of football on the adjacent t.v.) Cardiff boasts an amazing market (Seaside) and coffee shop and local bakery. Encinitas, just a mile in the other direction, is full of dining and shopping options. The coastal trail, for walking/running is steps from the door…as is a solid surf break. Gina is an impeccable host. She answered my call on the first ring! We definitely plan to book again.

We had a great visit. The location is superb and the unit was very nice and kitchen and bathrooms well appointed. Very handy to have the washer & dryer as well. The views are amazing with a sunset every night. I will definitely consider staying again and maybe in the top unit next time. Thank you Gina & Gina !

This is such a beautiful home with a spectacular view of the ocean and sunset. The house is immaculate and decorated in a way that is beautiful and peaceful. It is very well stocked with everything you might need for cooking, bathing and relaxing. Beaches are within walking distance to the north and south (about a 15 minute walk for us) as well as the town of Encinitas. There is a large dining table on the deck where we ate all of our meals except when we walked into town to go to restaurants, and two rocking chairs that were great for morning coffee or watching the sunset. I was there with my three teenage sons and one of their friends and there was plenty of room for us to all spread out. We all had such a wonderful time and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful escape.

We loved staying at this property.. it was beautifully outfitted with all the amenities a family needs. The ocean balcony view was by far the best part of the rental and made for beautiful sunrise coffee dates and sunset dinners. It was conveniently located to the beach and town. We can’t wait to stay here agaiin!

Had a wonderful week enjoying the Surf View Bungalow. The Front porch views were amazing. Every detail has been well thought. Stayed here while my son played in a National soccer tournament. One of my favorite parts was that anytime I went to look for something in the kitchen is right where I would have put it. Loved Cardiff and the surrounding areas. Will definitely be back!!

From the moment we walked in, the beautiful Ocean view, wraparound deck and light breezy decor had us enchanted. Only to find well appointed facilities with all the appliances, utensils, clean fixtures and fittings. There was even a patty stocked with essentials. Enough to make the kids pancakes in the morning once you buy eggs and milk! We use short term rentals frequently and this is a first class place. Well organized, stylish and yet like home too.
