The hotel is across Ocean Blvd, but nothing has been built on the beach, so you do have an ocean view from the room. Very quiet and building has been nicely maintained. Good location too, close to everything. Personalized service that you don’t get from the large hotels: received a call beforehand letting me know that I could check in early and also received a call after letting me know I forgot my phone charger cord. Cute, quaint, and clean.

While driving to the hotel from out of state, the owner called us to let us know our room was ready if we wanted to check in early and offered us a room on a higher floor for a better ocean view. Incredible! Room was bright & clean with kitchenette. Beds were very comfy! Great stay.

I took my family on Spring break based on the reviews from Hotels.com/Google. We were there for 4 days. These were my pros and cons. PROS: Great location. Great view of the beach from our balcony. We could just walk right across to the beach and pier. Great customer service. Check in was easy and they usually will call and confirm your stay on the day of. That was a nice touch. He called me by name when I walked in the front door. Nice touch. The hotel is close to other areas for shopping and dining, and is along the strip. The AC/ Heater worked great. The room smelled really clean and sanitized, but the bleach was a bit too strong. CONS: They have no elevators there so walking up 4 flights of stairs with luggage....with kids was exhausting. No breakfast service. The pool is at the front of the hotel, so there's no privacy if youre swimming. People off the street can just look in the pool. No laundry service. Didn't like the fact I could hear noise from off the streets with cars, people talking etc. There was no blackout curtains, so it was way too bright in the room. On the balcony, they have carpeting that had missing pieces. Overall, it was a good stay because with the kitchenette, we were able to make our own breakfast and enjoy our family time, even though the weather was unpredictable there; some days were cold and windy, and my allergies were not happy with that at all. But we made the trip fun regardless!

The people that run it are super nice family, rooms are cozy. Beds are on the soft side if you like a firm mattress. Everything is close and the pier is in walking distance.

This hotel is so quaint! We loved our stay here. The owner was very informative about the surrounding area and pointed out a few attractions we would have missed otherwise. Everyone was very friendly and the room was clean. We had a balcony and could see the ocean from our room. I highly recommend the Darlington Inn. My next visit will be here as well.

This is a very clean and nice old school hotel. The manager actually called us while driving down to tell us we could check in early! I also forgot my blood pressure monitor when we checked out and they immediately let us know and I was able to get it back. We had a very enjoyable experience staying here!

My husband and I decided to spend Valentine weekend in Myrtle Beach and the Darlington was the best priced. We arrived after closing but they made sure we could still check in. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. We were minutes from everything and we could drive or walk down the strip. The room was clean, it even had a stove, refrigerator and microwave. A little efficiency. The beds were comfortable and the heater kept us warm. The owners are kind people and this will be the only place we’re staying from now on.

My son and I stayed at the Darlington Inn while we were in town for a Coastal Carolina football game weekend. We couldn't have been more pleased. The room was immaculately clean (as was the bathroom) and there were extra blankets left out for us. The internet hummed and the TV reception was crystal clear. When we got back to the room after the game, we were delighted to find out that we had several delivery options with local eateries. That came in very handy since we were rain-soaked from the game and not presentable to go out. The balcony had an ocean view and even though it rained, it was still nice to just sit out there and chill. We'll definitely be back with the whole family sometime in the future.

Staff was extremely friendly. Room was very clean and located in a pod area to walk to other entertainment. Beach right across the street. Will stay again.

Why would you stay here in front of Ocean Blvd when plenty of hotels across the street have (actual) beach balcony views? Enjoy being disturbed by the accompanying noise and bluster? Photos misrepresent beach views from the motel. Easily a football field walk to the beach. The business practice of frontloading a charge for the first day and refusing to refund even after ensuring it would be returned -- suspicious. A formal complaint was made with expedia/hotels.com concerning this practice. The motel on the beach across the street was $20 cheaper and of equal quality. Avoid.

My husband, who's a HUGE sea fanatic, and I went to Myrtle Beach for our 10 yr anniversary! During this time, we had stayed a few nights at the Darlington. We were very pleased with the genuine friendliness and close destination to the beach!! We were also happy to see that the condition of the room we stayed in was very well cleaned and maintain (for an old building - that's key!). We would definitely stay again and recommend their great prices, service, and beach location to anyone. Thanks, Darlington!! <3

It was cute and comfortable! The staff was super friendly. It's in a great spot for walking, it's close to the wicked tuna and a lot of other things in walking distance, there's also a lot of options for short driving distances. I loved it! Definitley wouldn't mind staying here again.

Very sweet staff, convenient location, pet friendly, kitchenette with new appliances was a bonus. This is an older model motel but that meant the walls weren't as thin as new places. Right on the ocean drive so noise from traffic but no noise from other rooms. Did I mention helpful staff?... So nice and responsive.

Check in was very easy and we were well informed regarding the area and restaurants to try. At night, the street was very noisy with racing cars well past midnight.

From check in until the moment we left it was a wonderful stay. Check in was fast and easy, the room was very clean with a table/chairs and couch, chair and coffee table. My only wish was that i would have reserved a room on the 4th floor. We were on the second floor and couldn't see the ocean for the palm trees. Will definitely stay again.
