Beautiful views of the lake with a warm fire and cozy common areas. Our accommodations was extremely clean and comfortable. The front desk was exceptionally helpful and courteous with recommendations of dining options nearby. We enjoyed our stay and if ever we are back in the area, we’ll know where we will be headed.

Riom looked like it needed fixing. There was hair in the jacuzzi jets. Dirty windows, chipped and rocking toilet. Stairs from parking area not stable

The steps leading down to our room were dangerous and on a rainy day, full of water. The kitchen floor was tacky-not sure if it was washed. The counter by the window was dirt covered so much that the top of the paper towels was covered with dirt. Top paper towel holder was missing with a large screw exposed-unsafe. Ceiling tiles very dirty in one area. Coffee maker did not work. Bathroom floor grout was black. Only 4 bath towles-no hand towels or wash clothes. Two lamp shades were bent to one side. No extra blankets. Pull out bed was old and the metal rusting. Kitchen table top very wobbly. . This room sleeps 4 but only 4 hangers?? The bedroom bed was very comfortable. I spoke to the manager re all of this and she was going t see the room/area that day. It needs a major overhaul. The wedding at the Inn was very very nice. Lovely spot and the food was great. I hope they fix those rooms for the price we paid. The manager did give me a partial refund which was nice.

It was a beautiful place. The weather wasn’t the best while we were there (cold, windy and rainy) but we had the most amazing view of the Lake, walked around the property and drove around the area. It was a great weekend away. Thank you to the wonderful staff there too.

We had a wonderful stay at Silver Birches, at the Retreat at Millbrook Cove. The unit was spacious, clean and well-equipped. Also, the shower was terrific! The view of the lake from our room was calming and beautiful. Staff were accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend Silver Birches.

the views are amazing, the cottages are right on the water and all the balconies and windows face Lake Wallanpaupak which is just beautiful. the rooms could use a little sprucing up (ie mold, carpet stains) but overall a great stay!

Enjoyed the stay

Great location, we went for leaf-peeking so did not use many amenities: boats, pool, etc. “Library“ was nice as was complementary evening champagne. Included, delivered breakfast was yogurt, muffins, fruit, juice and egg (hard boiled). Bed was comfortable, our room had been refurbished, so was nice (though we’d heard a few rooms had not been).

Furniture was broken, poorly painted walls, bathroom dirty, spiderwebs everywhere outside, exterior not clean

Clean. For families I recommend ensuring they stock up on meals and snacks since there are no stores nearby. Also ask for extra bedding ahead of time.

Stayed in the Bunkhouse, wasn't exactly what I was expecting for the money we paid.

Overall a nice hotel and very nice view of the water. Complimentary breakfast and the people were nice!
I do think the 1 bedroom room was overpriced. They also slipped in a “service charge” fee after I checked in and put my card on file.

We had a wonderful stay at Silver Birches! The room was clean, smelled clean, the bed was comfortable and our view was amazing! Unfortunately for us it rained the whole time but there was tons offered to do if the weather had been better! We only stayed one night bc we were going on a rail bike ride and didn't want to drive home. The next time we visit, we will definitely spend more time and bring our kids! Thanks for a great overnight!

Perfect for couples or a quiet getaway. Very nice hotel with cute details. The bar only opens on weekends.
Not a lot of options to dine outside.

I think this is a fine place to stay depending on your needs. My family booked this last minute and got a good deal on Expedia so that made it worth it. Pros: The staff were really lovely - super friendly and hospitable. The view of the lake was beautiful. We enjoyed the live music by the pool bar and the drinks were excellent. Enjoyed the fire pit at night. Some cons: Our bunk had a very musty smell which we sort of just got used to over the three days. If you are going in the summer you should know that the pool was absolutely FREEZING (in August). I spoke with other guests at the pool about how disappointing that was as you couldn't really enjoy the pool (other than a quick in and out). Also, I would advise that you bring your own pool towels - the pools towels were not much larger than a face towel (they were so small you couldn't even wrap them around a child's body much less an adult's). The hot tub was nice but, unfortunately, if you are traveling with kids under 18 they cannot use it with you. In addition to the $30 a night resort fee, there was a bizarre $7.50 cleaning fee for our room (though the cleaning fee was not a lot, I asked about it as we did not have our room cleaned during our stay and I was told it is standard for every booking with no other explanation - this is the first time in all my travels I have ever seen a "cleaning fee" - why not just add it to the room's total cost? It's just silly). But, all in all, we had a nice time and it suited our needs.

We will definitely be back!! The service and staff were fantastic, for a lake resort the place is IMMACULATE. Great vibes, great views, pools were sparkling clean, great separation of children and adults for pools, we literally have nothing bad to say. We were sad to leave.

I visited there a month back and had a wonderful stay so I came back. This time it was not. One of the beds had dog hair all over the sheets and the blanket had poop stains. Have pics. If they didn’t change the sheets on that bed what else are they not cleaning? No more rooms available on the property so they sent us 5 1/2 miles up the road to another place that had no amenities and it had a bug infested bathroom. Horrible stay. Could not wait to leave so we checked out early.

Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. Being a "local," I always wanted to stay here but I was a bit disappointed. The Bunkhouse was ok, with a nice view just don't expect to fit a full-size adult in the second bedroom. Lawn mowers and weed whacking at 8:15 am is unacceptable, with no regard for clean cars which were covered in grass when they were done. The pools were either closed or limited with construction noise and overly loud music, and the hot tub and "heated" adult pool were cold. Breakfast was continental with plain Greek yogurt, muffins, and fruit. One morning they ran out of coffee cups, and we waited until they could go get more. Next time I will try a more economical but better accommodation that I have had the pleasure of staying at nearby.

We would definitely come back to Silver Birches. It was nice that there were activities everyday you could be involved in or just enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. It was also interesting seeing buildings in the area that had history to them. There is something for everyone at this resort.
