This place was so charming, the staff was welcoming and warm, and the grounds are beautiful! We’ll definitely go out of our way to stay here again.

This is a lovely hotel! The views of the gorge and waterfall are beautiful. The grounds are beautiful and they even have a bocce ball court. The interior of the hotel is gorgeous, the remodel is delightful. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom was great. The double Queen rooms are not huge but that’s because it was built 100 years ago. We ate dinner in the restaurant with a view of the gorge. The seafood pasta and cheesecake were delicious and the staff was kind and attentive. We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay was wonderful - Donna took good care of us, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds were lovely to walk around, the bed comfortable, and dinner at the restaurant was delicious.

My friend and I went for two nights to enjoy New Years Eve and New Years Day. The hotel itself is wonderful, and we really loved all the holiday lights in the gardens, and decorations throughout. The staff were all very friendly...!!!
The only thing a bit bothersome was that it was not mentioned online that the special New Years Eve dinner and New Years Day brunch required separate reservations. No one at the hotel mentioned it during check in either, but the wait staff were able to fit us in fortunately because the food was great..!!
Another issue was that I never received a reservation confirmation when I selected the stay at the end of September. When I tried contacting the Hotel directly a week in advance to confirm my reservation, it was impossible to reach someone at the main phone number, and no one responded to my online request for information.
I was finally able to get a reservation verification when I pieced together information from billing and contacted Hotels.com.

This was our first stay at the Columbia River Gorge Hotel and Spa. It was delightful from beginning to end. The gorgeous decorations of the season, a piano player on Sunday, the food and service were wonderful. Its full of charming touches of yesteryear, as well as lots of modern touches with lighting and furnishings. We hated to leave. We'll be back soon!

This hotel lived up to the great reviews. It is a charming historic hotel. We visited in early December and the hotel was festooned in holiday cheer with lights and decorations. The hotel gets it right with comfy mattresses, a nice variety of pillows, thick towels, a fridge, decent restaurant with a view of the river. Sitting by the with a glass of wine before dinner was a delight on a cool evening. No complaints. We will be back.

Have enjoyed our stays in the past. Although, this trip was disappointing. Michal,(an older lady that was servicing the brunch on Sunday was horrible!). In fact there were two servers that morning who are in desperate need of customer service training. The manager of the hotel, Alp, need help in that same area The hotel is absolutely breathtaking. These three individuals need to go!

Probably the most beautiful place to stay in Hood River.

Beautiful old hotel with great Christmas lights around the property, cliffs and waterfall. Very pet friendly as well.

Wonderful location to celebrate our 44th anniversary.

I really wish they'd provide coffee maker in your room. A carafe with tepid warm coffee in the lobby doesn't cut it

What an amazing special place.

Beautiful hotel. Great location close to lots of hiking. Staff were lovely. Dinner was excellent. We enjoyed exploring some of the Grimm series history in the region.

The location of the property and the landscape around the property are superior. It is beautiful and fun to walk around the property even on a rainy morning. The room itself is clean and nice and the hotel is well preserved. We overlooked no microwave in the room when booking and that would have been very handy to have had for eating breakfast in the morning. Didn't want to take valuable time to eat in a restaurant in the morning but not many food choices heading east visiting all the waterfalls. Overall, very nice historic hotel!

The hotel is in a lovely spot overlooking the river. Unfortunately our room was on the highway side (which they describe as garden view), so was quite noisy from the highway traffic. The room was small but pleasant and the staff was very friendly. One major quirk is that there is only one elevator and it must be operated by a staff member. There are no ground floor rooms, so if you have mobility issues and don't want to have to call for the elevator every time you want to come and go from your room, this is not the hotel for you.

Property is stunning. Waterfall, waterfowl, flowers, streams, Columbia River, benches, games.

little spendy

Updated property, beautiful art-deco theme. Only issue were all the bugs in our room. Little beetles and stink bugs all over.

Old elevator needed to be upgraded. It requires a staff person to operate. All rooms are on the second or third floors.
Very clean, but needs more friendlier staff

We stayed one night. Very nostalgic, rooms nice and clean, food and wait staff good. We parked next to office and asked if it was safe and monitored and were assured it was completely safe. We had bicycles and a car full of camping gear is the reason we asked. Next morning one bike stolen, car dented and scratched. Great place to stay but watch your stuff, not safe.

Lovely historical hotel

The property grounds were very nice. Good view of the river. Nice common areas in the hotel. The rooms were a good size. The building is about 100 years old. Things are showing their age in the rooms. Plumbing was slow to drain the shower. Light in the closet flickered. Stuff like that. Otherwise, the property was very nice.

Vintage hotel with beautiful views. The grounds are well maintained and gorgeous. Rooms updated nicely but maintain the old world charm.

True historic hotel with an amazing view and kind staff. Food could use an overhaul but the dining view is quite nice.

Lack of friendliness. Hotel charged extra 16.99 for "Hospitality fee" for 1 night stay, which was a surprise to us. Room included 2 small free bottles of water. That is it. Lobby does not have anything, not even drinking water. Breakfast: $45 per person at hotel restaurant. We went to downtown, which is only a couple of miles from hotel, and would recommend it since you have more choices

Beautiful historic hotel ! Very comfortable with excellent dining.

Hotel is in dire need of a revamp. Too many questionable design choices. Carpeting on stairs is dizzying and wallpaper on walls even more dizzying. Room had a musty odor. And why the $16.99 grounds fee?

The room was small, but well kept. Very overpriced
