Rooms spacious. Reasonably priced drinks

1. Room not cleaned, dust floors and litter under the beds from previous guests. 2. Quality of food really poor, dry grilled hake on 2 consecutive nights, small selection of fruit for an area like Limpopo where fruit is wholesome and delicious. 3. Water bottle replenishment very inconsistent at night. 4. Requested a mushroom/cheese omlette for breakfast, only to be told that they cannot use the mushrooms as they needed them for the gnocchi at dinner! 5. No alternatives to pork and beef in their menu, except for pizza! 6. Poor wifi quality in the rooms, and poor cell phone signal. You have to drive out to Hoedspruit which is 15 minutes out for a signal. 7. Ordered a chicken wrap for lunch that took 50 minutes to prepare, then had to rush to a game drive. 8. White lions are their main attraction, however, the 5 of them are kept in a separate gated enclosure and their habitat is human-controlled, much like a glorified zoo! 9. This is not a big 5 resort, they drive you an hour into the Kruger National Park to hopefully sight an elephant, but this is in a closed vehicle. 10. For a small family-run lodge, there is authenciticy and personalisation lacking. 11. We have been to 18 game lodges in and around the Kruger and this was by far the worst. 12. You are better off driving through the park yourself. You will experience a more realistic and wholesome big 5 experience in an authentic environment. 13. Definitely not a 4 star lodge experience. Not worth the fortune we paid for 3 nights.

The game drives, guides were extremely informative. Staff as a general rule were extremely accommodating and helpful. Food was delicious. Wildlife such as giraffe would come close to rooms and lake we looked into permanently contained 4 or 5 hippos

The schedule was very rushed and could not substitute a morning or afternoon drive for a night drive (which required additional payment) meaning you could not enjoy relaxing time during day unless you sacrifice an included part of the stay. Were not suggested to walk outside of walking path from rooms to restaurant/swimming pool meaning only activity other than game drives being swimming pool. Game drive into Kruger was in a 12 seater closed bus, whereby confusion at camp lead to our arrival approximately 1 hour late and not taking other paths - could have done self drive

Well worth a couple of nights if you are on the move in South Africa

The Elandela is a family operation and it’s run with great pride and investment in creating excellent game viewing, including a day trip to Krueger to make sure guests see elephants. Food was very good and service top to bottom was truly superb

It’s a bit more manicured than I like.

3 days of bliss.

This property has a special place in our hearts. Tucked away in a beautiful location, they spoilt us with their hospitality. Shout of to Francheso and Rico for being a call away always. And the chef deserves a special mention for the amazing amazing spread every meal. Thank you for making my birthday very very memorable. We will be back soon.

Unique Experience

Overall an excellent experience. The staff did everything and beyond to make us feel comfortable and extremely helpful and accommodating. The fame drive was amazing. Leonardo and Simon were very professional and knowledgeable about the animals. We saw all the big 5. The free kruger National Park trip was amazing. The white lions were one of the kind. We cannot finf somewhere else

Very enjoyable, relaxed stay, informative guide but restaurant soulless

Great guide for game drives; room very good; good location; food generally excellent.

Restaurant lacked any atmosphere; needed outdoor space. Staff overly attentive - probably due to lack of other guests. Really need to make more use of location to create atmosphere for restaurant facilities.

That you have to pay if you drink more than 2 bottles of water. For this price you have to buy your own 1xbear for a game drive. Definitely not worth the money. I pay R9 700 and you have to buy water??????

JUST AMAZING 5 STAR experience !!!

I loved everything. Still the most amazing was stuff and the game drives. Over 2 days we managed to see all big 5 !!! It was the first time a saw a leopard. The ranger which was driving us around shared a lot of interesting stories about animals and the reserve history. We enjoyed a lot. Best proof is that our kid wanted to do game drives both in the morning and evening. Did not feel tiered at all. They are 7, 10 , 12 years old. We felt safe and very comfortable

Great staff but not good value for money.

The staff was really good, especially Maritza. She really went out of her way to make our Christmas stay pleasant.

We thought it was oversold, didn’t meet our expectations. Had it not been for the great staff it would have turned terrible for us. We also really had issues with the crocodile that lives by the dam close to the swimming pool, for a family with young kids we were never relaxed and felt like that’s something we would have wanted to know upfront, because we wouldn’t have gone there.

location good, but gameviewing was disappointing.

was informed that meals would be served at second lodge and that we would have to transfer to same for meals. food at first meal was sparse. we were however accommodated with dinner at room, which we were thankful for. no natural airflow nor proper aircon at dining rooms, which in Covid times is not acceptable.

Very good

The place was really clean and well kept. We arranged for meals to be vegetarian and all the meals were excellent! The game drives in the private reserve were really nice and enjoyable and the rangers were quite knowledgeable. The place itself was really beautiful and relaxing and was the perfect getaway for the long weekend.

In the description it says that Elandela offers a game drive to the Kruger for half a day if you stay for 2 nights or more. However, the manager had struggled to arrange this for us and we ended up driving to the Orpen Gate and arranged our own game drive in the Kruger National Park.

Great time in this luxury lodge

We were among the first foreign guests (from France) coming back to South Africa after travel restrictions were lifted. We were happy to see that the lodge takes very seriously the safety of guests to limit covid-19 risk. We felt very safe and guests should give their full support to management and staff on this. As we did not have to worry about any health issues, we could fully enjoy our time in the lodge. To summarize: spacious bungalows very well decorated, very good level of service, very friendly staff, personal touch and special care to make our stay unforgettable, really outstanding food with gastronomic three-course dinner. We liked it and we had a great time at this lodge. The tourism industry in South Africa is going through a difficult time with the covid-19 pandemic. We were happy to bring our small contribution by coming back to South Africa and stay at this lodge.
