A famous resort and its 4 nationally rated golf courses are just around the corner. The Shenandoah Riding Stable and over 40 miles of trails are equally convenient. The historic town of Galena is only 6 miles to the west, while the Diamond Jo casino and the Dubuque Dog Track and casino are only a little further down the road. DunPuttin Place is not just another carbon copy resort rental. Although the area features some of the most spectacular golf in the country, this is not just a Summer house. In Fall, the changing colors are an attraction in themselves, while in Winter, the Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort is only minutes away and... THE SPA IS KEPT HOT ALL YEAR! DunPuttin Place has been tastefully designed and decorated to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests of all ages. However, pets are not allowed. There is no smoking, except on the outdoor deck areas. The availability of rental dates is always at a premium. Please inquire for reservations as soon as your desired dates are determined. DunPuttin Place is located at 243 Blackhawk Trace (between Northridge Lane & Russet Lane) in The Galena Territory, Galena, Illinois. The entrance to the Territory is located on US Route 20 fifty miles west of Freeport in extreme Northwestern Illinois. DunPuttin Place requires a two night minimum rental. There are discounted rates available for off-season weekday stays. Weekly rates are available and there are sometimes free bonus nights that can be added to your stay (please inquire).

If you have any handicap people in your party, this is definitely no the place for you. The picture from the outside is not accurate at all. You have to go down some very steep steps to get to the walk way. The brand new video game did not work (which is part of the reason I picked this place) the owners had not idea how to fix it. My son-in-law was able to jimmy it, but only worked about and 3 hours after that. Other wise the place in nice, we had a good time. Probably will not go back. We have been to other homes that are more spacious.

This was just the perfect place for the 5 of us! Plenty of room to spread out, it was so comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked, and having the game room, the hot tub, and other amenities was great. Just a beautiful home with marvelous hosts. It's centrally located for all of us (except our friend in Texas), easy to get to within 1/2 day. We loved it and plan on returning!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very well furnished and the kitchen was well-equipped for us to cook meals. Great setup with the bedrooms on different levels that allowed our adult children to play games late into the evening when my wife and I were sleeping upstairs. Vice-versa in the morning when kids were sleeping late. The grill in back and the fire pit in front were really nice as well. Very centrally located with easy access to the owners' club. Hosts made check in easy and nice book of information. A great choice in Galena.

The description of this place sounded too good to be true, but it honestly didn't go far enough. DunPutting is amazing! The huge hot-tub is spotlessly maintained, the game-room has ALL the retro favorites in full-size format, and every room is decorated with a sly humor that somehow manages not to overdo the kitsch. This one goes on the list of all-time favorites!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay as this home was right in the Eagle Ridge territory and a quick drive to downtown Galena. The home had everything we could have needed including ample games, a full kitchen, and plenty of space for everyone to relax. The golf theme throughout the home was super cute and no detail was overlooked, right down to the golf theme plunger! We all enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back.

This was a great space for our weekend together. The home was comfortable and had plenty of space for everyone. The location gave us the feel of being secluded, yet within a short distance to downtown Galena. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of shopping! We would definitely recommend this home to others. Great communication with the hosts! Thank you!!

We had a great time staying at DunPuttin Place. The bedrooms fit our needs perfectly. The kids loved all the game tables and also enjoyed the variety of board games available while relaxing by the fireplace in the evening. The house is very well supplied with things to do for kids/families. The hot tub was a big hit and the kitchen also had everything we needed.
The location is a short ride from both downtown Galena and the Thunder Bay waterfall. We also really enjoyed the hiking trail that is accessible at the very back of the property. I know we made lots of fun memories for the kids and we would definitely stay here again.

My family of 5 with 3 kids under 10 and our friends with 2 about same age all fit great inside the house for a weekend of skiing at Chestnut Mountain. Todd was super communicative especially after a snowstorm before our arrival. House was well kept and the games in the basement were a big hit with the kids. We would absolutely recommend Dun Puttin and would stay here again. Loved the feeling of solitude on the back deck.

Great activities for the little girls. They loved the yard, sled and swing. Lots of games and lots of beds. LOVED the hot tub!!! Great place for a girls weekend!!

Great experience!!! Only one problem was the steps. They were pretty clean but not perfect and we had to shovel a little bit only because we’re older. Young kids had no problem. Great place!!!’

We stayed here for a family Thanksgiving trip. The house was great, and the game room downstairs was very fun. We also enjoyed exploring the area, visiting downtown Galena and Horseshoe Mound. In all, it was a wonderful vacation.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The home was in excellent condition. We enjoyed our stay. Only issue was not sure the home could sleep 12 people. 2 King beds and 4 twin beds. Fortunately we had 9 instead of the 12 we anticipated.

We took our twin daughters for a little getaway for their 16th birthday. This was the perfect house for the occasion. It was in great location and had plenty of room and things to do. Unfortunately it rained most of the weekend so we couldn't go and enjoy the outdoor activities but they had plenty of games we could do to past the time. I would highly recommend the place.

Winter ski getaway
Enjoyed time with our family and another family to get away for a few days. All the amenities were great and enjoyed having three hot tub so close and easy to access. Plenty of space to spread out. Kids enjoyed all the games available and the adults enjoyed access to zone out to a movie! Would recommend!

Beautiful Home, Great Location, Many Amenities
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay here, except we should have stayed longer! This home is spectacular, set in a very wooded area of the beautiful Galena Territory. It's only a short 6-mile drive to Galena. The home had everything we needed and more! The beds and furniture are comfortable and it's wonderful having so many bedrooms and bathrooms. It was perfect for our family gathering. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool, sauna or game room as we were too busy exploring Galena and the surrounding areas. The home is well stocked with items that I normally bring along, like paper towel, spices, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. We will definitely stay here again!

Family vacation.
Everything was as described. All the games and the deck were a big hit. Loved the secluded nature of the property. Will be returning for another visit. Great communication with the owners. Used the owners access to the owners club. We swam and played some basketball. Ran out of time to do all the activities that exist on site and in the Galena/Dubuque area.. Great time with family.
