location far from restaurants and shopping. Walls are a bit thin, almost could hear guests next door talking loudly every night ( at 2-3 am!). Guest noise level control needs improvement.

great transfer to Maiko ski resort and ishiuchi resort. just finished skiing and back to hotel in minutes the onsen are clean

Great hotel to stay in Echigo Yuzawa area! Room was spacious and clean, with very comfortable beds. Tasty breakfast buffet with many choices of both japanese and western food. We went to both public and private onsens and both were great, I recommend reserving a private onsen if it's available, it has beautiful view over the mountains. Staff was very helpful and polite. It's also convenient that the hotel offers transfers to and from train station, ski resort and restaurants in the evening. Highly recommend!

Hotel manager and staff were very friendly and accommodating. They drove me to the train station, and fetched me on my return. Nice cozy ambience. The loft room I got was spacious.

The onsens and rooms were excellent! Great value for the price! It’s very close to the Tunnel of Light. The meals were delicious!! Highly recommended!

No issues

The place far exceeded my expectation. It was probably even better than Naeba Prince Hotel, which is at much higher price point. The building has been reformed and is amazingly beautiful inside with elevator. Routes in the building are well designed and labeled so you would never get lost. Hot spring is as clean and beautiful as shown in the pictures. Due to Corona this year, they do not let people who do not stay there use hot spring so it was pretty much only me and my friends inside. Most important of all, the food (both breakfast and dinner) was delicious. There are many small places one may notice from their services to the way food is placed on the table that show they take it seriously. Definitely order their breakfast and dinner when you stay here. All staffs were friendly. They give you free ride either to Ishiuchimaruyama or Maiko as well as to the train station. Lobby has area a lot of manga such as Attack on the Titans and One Piece. There's no problem messaging them in English on booking.com, but I do not know if people at front desk speak English or not.

This is probably nitpicking. We did rental on the location - one ski and one snowboard. Their equipment is a little old, but that's expected given their price point is much lower than rental at the ski resort. The person working at the rental store was probably a skier and didn't know much about snowboarding. He gave my friend a board that's way too short for his body weight until I pointed it out. For the ski, the screw that tightens shoe size adjustment came loose and binding length extended beyond my friend's shoe size on the mountain all of a sudden. We had to find a screwdriver to fix it and noticed the other leg's ski screw was also fairly loose. Both ski and snowboard lack waxing, so much so that it made me think maybe they are about to throw them away so they don't care about maintenance anymore.

delicious food, beautiful onsen, very friendly and helpful staff, the ryokan's shuttle service picked us up from the station in Gala Yuzawa brought us everywhere we wanted to go. everything was perfect!

Amazing beakfast and dinnner. Staff were very polite and helpful and always smiling. Onsen was great, opened from 6 to 11 pm and with the option to book a private onsen on the roof top, amazing. Very practical aswell as the hotel is able to bring/pick you up at the ski stations near by, amazing service!

Everyone was very helpful! They pick you up from the station and drive you to the ski resorts. We rented our skis there and were completely satisfied. Breakfast and dinner were also good. As it was just after new year, we got to participate in mochi pounding while we were there (photo). Fun!

Really nothing. The onsen was sometimes a bit hot for our taste. But the baths were beautiful and generally comfortable.
