Είναι ο τύπος του κρητικού πέτρινου σπιτιού που ήταν ο πιο διαδεδομένος τύπος κατοικίας σε ολόκληρη την Κρήτη. Η κύρια περιοχή του σπιτιού χωρίζεται από ένα τόξο, και στις πλευρές δημιουργεί τέσσερις χώρους που έχουν λειτουργική αυτονομία χωρίς να καταστρέφουν την ενότητα του χώρου. Σήμερα σε αυτούς τους χώρους, είναι η κουζίνα, η τραπεζαρία και το σαλόνι. Στο κεντρικό κτίριο του σπιτιού προστέθηκε ένα άλλο κτίριο, επικοινωνώντας εσωτερικά με δύο αψίδες. Αυτός ο χώρος χρησιμοποιείται ως αποθήκη για την αποθήκευση διαφόρων οικιακών σκευών και γλάστρες. Σήμερα, υπάρχει η κύρια κρεβατοκάμαρα του σπιτιού, η τουαλέτα, όπου μπορείτε να δείτε ένα μέρος του βράχου, πάνω στο οποίο είναι χτισμένο το σπίτι και η σκάλα που οδηγεί στο ξύλινο πάτωμα υπνοδωμάτιο και στη βεράντα. Charming, tranquil cottage in a small mountain village. Lovely daytime views of the Aegean Sea to the north across the valley below, but our favorite view was at night, looking straight up at the stars and the clearly visible Milky Way. Excellent taverna just a few steps away, though unfortunately the café mentioned by others has closed. You will find the refrigerator extremely well-stocked. Three good air conditioning units to keep things cool on hot summer days. If you're a cat lover you're in luck, as there are many of them wandering around outside and quite a few are friendly. The shower area is a bit small, so if you are a large person you might have a tight squeeze, but aside from that it's hard to find any problems with this delightful place.

This property is the most AMAZING place I have ever stayed!! The house is the cutest place! There is a cafe that Sophie runs, and every breakfast was spectacular. Then there is a tavern just a few steps away from upstairs patio, the food and the view cannot be best! EIRINI was the best host I have ever had the pleasure to stay with! I would go back here 100 times!! Do yourself a favor and book Elia!! THE VERY BEST!!

A short drive up from the highway brings you to the traditional village of Monastiraki, right beside the spectacular Gorge of Ha. It’s an amazing location and Eirini’s home is absolutely stunning. This beautifully restored stone house is comfortable and you’re immediately aware that you’re staying somewhere special. The roof deck provides a view all the way out to the sea and the interior has beautiful and unique artwork in every room. The kitchen was fully stocked and Eirini was always available to take our calls. She was so helpful in providing suggestions on places to visit. Definitely worth the short drive to Koutsounari Long Beach for a swim and a visit to Alatsi Taverna, which has the truly delicious food and is on the most beautiful beach on Crete.

the house is spacious and beautifully decorated. It is located in a very pretty mountain village and has a terrace with a view of the whole valley and the sea. Next to the house, a tavern and a typical bar. an excellent place to visit eastern Crete which has remained protected from mass tourism. We had a dream vacation there. And to top it off, Eirini is incredibly kind and hospitable.

A tiny bit of Heaven
Well, where should I start: It was exquisite - absolutely what we were looking for. We stayed in many places in many countries but this place was by far the most memorable. It is simple - but that is the charm. I even can't say it was the perfect imperfection - because there was no imperfection for us. The view of the roof terrace was to die for. The house very well and tastefully appointed. The fridge - as many others pointed out - stocked to the max. The Wifi was working very well too. We actually decided on the location because of the house.
The village is very small (maybe 10 houses) and there are 2 Tavernas. I was told the best around and we tried both. Real Cretan food. It was all we wished for - authentic and delicious. It is a very quiet place with very friendly people. We LOVED it and would stay there again in a heart beat. Many thanks to Eirini! She is a wonderful host.

Ich kann mich nur den Bewertungen der Vormieter anschliessen : das Haus ist ein Traum und Irene und Eleni haben uns super umsorgt. Das Haus liegt mitten im kleinen Ort Monastiraki. Parkplätze gibt es an der oberen Strasse oder an der unteren. Zwei Tavernen liegen in direkter Nachbarschaft. Beide sind sehr empfehlenswert. Allein der Blick von der Terrasse zum kretischen Meer ist herrlich. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in Ierapetra. Die Strände im Süden sind deutlich sauberer als im Norden. Wir waren im Mai da, im Hochsommer braucht man im oberen Stockwerk die Klimaanlage wahrscheinlich rund um die Uhr. Die Dusche ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, klein und in den Fels gebaut. Aber alles kein Problem. Die Vorzüge überwiegen.

Frühling auf Kreta
Ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus mit Atmosphäre. Das Check-Inn war unkompliziert, alles war bestens vorbereitet. Danke noch einmal für den großzügig gefüllten Kühlschrank und das leckere Obst!
Leider war es in unserer Zeit sehr windig, sodass die große Terasse nicht immer von uns genutzt werden konnte. Für Gäste, denen richtig getrennte und abschliessbare Räume wichtig sind, dürfte die offene Struktur des Hauses nicht geeignet sein, sie macht aber auch den Charme des Hauses aus.
Bei einem medizinische Problem hat Irene sofort für uns den Kontakt zu einer Ärztin hergestellt, was sehr hilfreich war.
Für das Kochen wäre ein großes Brett i der Küche schön, ansonsten hat uns NICHTS gefehlt ! Wir haben uns in Irenes Haus sehr wohlgefühlt.

Ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt
Wir haben unseren Urlaub nicht nach Kenntnis der Region, sondern nach Aussehen des Ferienhauses ausgewählt. Aber beides hat uns nicht enttäuscht. Das Dorf Monastiraki wurde nach 1945 verlassen und später mit EU Mitten wieder aufgebaut. Das Ferienhaus ist ein sehr altes Haus in dem Bergdorf und man kann herrlich von dort aus wandern oder zu Ausflügen starten. Es ist allerdings so gestaltet, dass es keine Türen bei den Räumen gibt. Untern ist das Schlafzimmer mit Vorhängen von dem Wohnraum abgetrennt. Wie schon andere Teilnehmer berichteten, fanden auch wir den Kühlschrank gefüllt mit Vorräten und mussten wenig dazu einkaufen. Wir waren Anfang Januar dort und zu der Zeit sind beide Tavernen zu. Überhaupt ist das eine Ruhesaison in Kreta- man hat die Strände für sich allein.

maison ancienne tout confort dans un cadre calme et avec une vue fabuleuse
C'est une maison ancienne en pierre située au milieu du petit village de Monastiraki, lui-même surplombant la plaine qui se prolonge au loin par des montagnes et par la mer, avec Agios Nicolaos. On atteint la maison par une petite ruelle, quelques dizaines de mètres après un parking commun, tout est donc d'un calme parfait, sans aucun bruit de véhicule en particulier. La maison comporte deux niveaux, celui du bas avec grand salon et cuisine équipée, salle d'eau, ainsi qu'une chambre, celui du haut avec une chambre dotée d'une fenêtre panoramique donnant sur une immense terrasse avec pour vue le ciel immense, la plaine, la mer et les montagnes, et Agios Nicolaos. La maison est rénovée avec goût et sens pratique, et elle dispose de tous les équipements utiles, tout y est agréable et confortable au point qu'on aimerait en faire sa propre maison. On s'y sent aussi comme chez soi, tant sont nombreuses les attentions de Eirini et de la personne qui veille sur la maison localement, avec à notre arrivée une corbeille de fruits, des friandises, un frigo rempli de choses, et, par ailleurs, la facilité à joindre Eirini qui répond sur le champ à toute question. Deux restaurants à quelques mètres de la maison, l'un et l'autre bons, notre préféré, plus simple, plus traditionnel, a été le Captain Yanis, où nous avons diné à quatre reprises en une semaine. Donc un séjour parfait, que nous espérons pouvoir renouveler, tant cette maison nous a plu et tant l'attention de Eirini en fait un lieu amical.

The village was small, as expected, but it was beautiful. The view from the balcony was breathtaking no matter the time of day. The local taven was a few steps away from the home and the food was 10/10.
Overall I felt like we were at a home away from home. If I’m ever back in Crete, I will be staying here again!

Wir hatten einen herrlichen und erholsamen Urlaub in diesem wunderschönen Häuschen. Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es war wirklich alles da, was man braucht (wie bereits von den Vorgängern beschrieben) .
Die ersten Tage kein Einkauf nötig. Vielen Dank nochmal. Auch das urige Bergdörfchen Monastiraki ist herrlich. Man lebt hier in einer anderen Welt.
Wir waren bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal hier.

wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in Irenes Haus.
Alle Dinge aus der Anzeige sind genauso wie beschrieben und noch ein bisschen mehr. Man hat einen wirklich tollen Ausblick von der Terrasse. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Es ist etwas abgelegen, aber wer das schätzt, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Fahrbarer untersatz erforderlich. Im Restaurant gleich nebenan kann man abends lecker essen.

Sehr schönes historisches Häuschen in einem historischen Bergdörfchen.
Liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus mit allem was man benötigt. Die Dachterrasse hat eine tolle Aussicht. Eine Taverne ist wenige Schritte entfernt. Die Strände und das Wasser nördlich vom Haus sind leider mit Plastikstücken und Partikeln davon teilweise stark belastet. Der lange Strand im Süden ist dafür tadellos. Es gibt noch Strände im Osten, die wir aber nicht besucht haben, da sie teilweise 1,5 h entfernt sind. Ganz in der Nähe ist noch ein Canyon, aber nur für sehr geübte Kletterer. Uns hat es hier gefallen.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay- the village and its travernas, the house that had everything we would ever need, the outstanding views of the sea, we would come back anytime! We have a cousin that lives close and he is very familiar with the area too, which was an additional perk to our stay. Irena could not have been a better host. Thank you!

Perfektes Urlaubsdomizil
Wir haben den Urlaub in diesem tollen Haus sehr genossen!
Die ruhige Lage in Monastiraki und die Taverne in gerade mal 20 Meter Entfernung vom Haus werden wir sehr vermissen. Man steigt über das kleine Türchen von der grandiosen Dachterrasse und schon kann man das leckere Essen vom Kapilio genießen. Nach dem obligatorischen Raki geht es zurück auf die Dachterrasse und man erlebt den Sonnenuntergang, ein fantastisches Panorama. Der Himmel verfärbt sich über den Hügel rot und langsam gehen die Lichter der kleinen Orte in der Umgebung an. Bei einer Zigarre und einer Büchse Bier - absolute Entspannung.
Das Haus ist idealer Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung von Ostkreta. Eine Wanderung in die Thripti-Berge beginnt direkt am Haus auf dem gut markierten Wanderweg E4 und ein Strand ist in 10 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Überall wo es uns auch hin verschlagen hat, durften wir die Gastfreundschaft der Inselbewohner erfahren. Selbst im abgelegensten Bergdorf Selakano fand sich um die Mittagszeit eine geöffnete Taverne.
Wir danken unserer Vermieterin für das unvergessliche Vergnügen in diesem liebevoll eingerichteten Haus, für den gut gefüllten Kühlschrank, für die Flasche(n) Raki auf dem Küchenschrank und für den unkomplizierten Umgang bei der Übergabe des Hauses.
Das einzige was uns hier nicht gefallen hat: DASS WIR WIEDER ABREISEN MUSSTEN!!!

Ein wunderschönes Steinhaus in einer ruhigen Lage
Wir haben im August mit unserer vierköpfigen Familie in dem wunderschönen Haus von Irini Urlaub gemacht. Es war alles perfekt! Wir wurden sehr herzlich von ihr empfangen und der Kühlschrank war bereits gefüllt. Vielen Dank nochmal dafür. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig eingerichtet. Wir können es nur empfehlen. Wer einen ruhigen Ort zum entspannen sucht ist dort genau richtig . Tolles Haus und tolle Gastgeber! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder . Danke Kaliroi und Familie

Wonderful
Irene is one of the most generous hosts we have ever met: she fills the fridge for you for most of your stay, she will lead you out of an olive yard where you stupidly landed in the middle of the night looking for the house.. Her house is beautifully decorated, offers every comfort and all the little things you might need, has great views from the terrace where you might want to linger all day. We were really happy at this wonderful place and cannot praise it too highly.

Tout d'abord l'accueil d'Irène et de sa soeur..A l'arrivée, le frigidaire rempli de tout ce qui est nécessaire pour un petit déjeuner ( fruits frais, capsules Nespresso..).Au départ un petit cadeau.
La maison elle -même, remarquablement restaurée - béton ciré, teintes choisies avec goût- qualité des équipements.
La terrasse avec vue superbe sur la baie d'Agios NIKOLAOS.
L'emplacement (plateau de Lassithi entre Pacha Ammos et Ierapetra), ce qui permet de visiter des sites remarquables comme Mochlos au Nord et Mirtos au Sud, voire la côte ouest...
La présence dans ce tout petit village de 2 tavernes d'excellente qualité.
A 15 kms de Ierapetra où l'on trouve toutes les commodités.
Tout ce qu'il faut pour goûter au charme de la Crête.
