Castel d'Amérique Française

We spent 3 nights at this place and enjoyed the hotel. Three of us in a very spacious room with balcony with a beautiful view. Breakfast daily was wonderful. We would recommend and return 👌

Great location, within walking distance to everything within the walled city. Beautifully preserved and decorated authentic old world charm hotel. Jolanta, the proprietor, was sweet and attentive as she greeted us each morning in the breakfast room. Breakfast consisted of cheeses, boiled eggs, cereals, oatmeal, homemade cakes, peanut butter, fruit preserves, breads, dried fruits, granola, juices, teas, coffee, milk and cream.

Although I knew beforehand there was no elevator, my senior legs were not prepared for the fourth floor. The stairs didn’t seem to bother the younger guests, so don’t be deterred by my experience.

The location was within walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants, bars, activities and things to see.

The breakfast had a lot of variety, however, as a coeliac i was unable to choose a lot to eat that was gluten free except for the gluten free granola and yoghurt and the boiled eggs or cheese. However i was extremely grateful for my food which was actually a perfect amount for me. I would have loved to have tasted the beautiful home made cakes she made fresh every day, though my husband told me they were delicious. I also loved all of the antique furniture, the crystal chandeliers in every room and the lovely little terrace which we could sit at outside. This place oozed charm. It was beautiful and I would definitely stay there again, loved it.

Absolutely nothing, however if i had to choose something it was a bit of a task to get my luggage up the three flights of stairs. Thankfully some young german girls helped me with that. If you aren't capable of doing that, when you book you had better put a note in to say so.
