The drive up the mnt was worth it for the view each morning, the house had every single thing we needed, we only brought food and fire starter with us. We will be back!

We had an amazing time at the cabin!! It was incredibly clean and everything was as listed. We even saw an eagle one of the days. What an amazing thanksgiving we had!! The hosts were super friendly and responsive. They provided us with lots of useful information. Would definitely book again!!! The only flaw would be that the sleeper sofa isn’t functional. Once we opened the sleeper sofa one end of it would collapse and wouldn’t stay up. In addition, when we tried laying down on it we could feel the support beams/springs.

We have stayed in Eagle's Nest a few times now. The view is absolutely amazing! Shannon and Michelle have created a wonderful place to relax and enjoy creation. Communication and attention to detail was again just right. We will be coming back, already booked again for next year.

My husband and I brought our grandsons up to ride the train to the Nantahala! We have rented another on site condo last year! It was such a wonderful experience that we thought we would book again to celebrate some birthdays. The cabin is phenomenal! The views are out of this world! And it is so quiet at night when you sit out to look at the stars! Always easy to check in! The cabin is well-decorated! I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing getaway! So close to town as well!

Of all the cabins we have stayed in, this one is absolutely the best.
The owners have gone out of their way to anticipate the needs of guests and to make us feel comfortable. The cabin is thoughtfully laid out, perfectly equipped and immaculately clean. And that is on top of fabulous views. We didn’t just like our stay…we loved it.

This was our second stay… this time during the fall colors. The house was perfect and the view is the best in the Appalachians! No need to leave the house!

Two issues….
1) Cabins are closer than we had hoped
2) My profile clearly states that my husband has a service dog so there would be no questions in that regard whenever we book via VRBO. The day after we got there the owner sent me a message and said “we notice you have a dog. We don’t allow pets as many of our guests have allergies. Did you not see our strict policy about pets?” When I replied that the dog is a service dog and that my profile says we have one she said she can’t see that in my profile. I offered to send a screenshot of my profile. She kept saying that we should have been more open about it. What the heck? My profile states it….told her she should check with VRBO to see why she can’t view it. I also told her at one point that the communication from her was making us feel unwelcome. Then she said if they had known about it ahead of time “they could have accommodated us”. When I asked “how exactly could you have accommodated us”, she replied that they would have pointed out the service dog station…..which was about 50 feet from the front porch of the cabin….I mean we aren’t blind. My guess is that the dog station is a prop for looking like they follow ADA laws?? She also asked us not to leave our dog in the cabin alone if we leave. Good grief…..I had to point out to her that service dogs aren’t suppose to be left behind….that they always go with their person. She obviously is very ignorant of ADA laws and service dog protocols. Ruined our stay.

This property offers comfort and gorgeous views of Fontana Lake and the Smokies! Truth in advertising- cabin offers a home away from home and quiet, beautiful relaxation. A bonus for me is the low step shower with grab bars and slip resistant stone shower floor. Anyone with mobility issues will appreciate the thoughtful details.

Everything was spotless and thank you for helping us with items we would immediately need like coffee and paper products. The only problem we had was trying to open the handle on the French doors to the deck. We decided to leave the door handle unlocked because of our difficultly just opening the door. When we needed to leave we would lock the French doors and go out the front door. I ould add a Senior Adult age range.

I never have the perfect words to explain this amazing property. It is truly our home away from home. My family and I consider this property our home when visiting the smokies. The owners always make us feel welcome as if we were family. The cabin is always spotless and has all the amenities you would need for an absolutely memorable vacation. This is one of many visits to this cabin and most definitely not the last. And as everyone always talks about - the view is stunning, jaw dropping, almost indescribable. Truly takes your breath away.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at the Eagles Nest. We wanted a quiet and beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature. Eagles Nest did not disappoint! The cabin was impeccable. Very clean, nice furnishings, stocked with everything we needed for cooking and dining. The view from the back deck was so beautiful and serene. We spent every morning and evening on the deck just watching the fish feed and looking out for the eagle we had read about. There was no eagle sighting unfortunately, but we were a bit early for the eagles appearance. Loved every minute of our stay! We will definitely stay here again!

We loved waking up and eating breakfast and having coffee on the deck everyday while taking in the spectacular view provided by Fontana lake and The Great Smoky Mountains! I bet we spent as much time on the deck as we did in the beautiful and simply decorated cabin. We had a wonderful week. Thank you for sharing your property with us it’s one we won’t forget!

This is a spectacular cabin overlooking Fontana lake. It would be great for two couples or a family of four. It was just my husband and I and we enjoyed it immensely and hiked in the great smoky mountain national park every day.

Everything was perfection! The view is even better than any picture can capture. We appreciated having firewood provided and found sticks for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows by the fire. We didnt want to leave!! Thank you for sharing this special place with the world!

We really enjoyed the property, clean, quiet and beautiful view. The beds were AMAZING that is the one concern we had, due to bad backs. The only suggestion/ recommendation we had was the furniture in the living room needs to be updated. Overall it was a great vacation house!

The views, and the service, are spectacular - we guessed we were about 400’ above the surface of Fontana Lake with abundant wildlife, including eagles gliding through below. The bedrooms are equal size; perfect for two couples, and the cabin was spotless. Shannon did everything possible to make our stay perfect. We will stay here again.

This is a beautiful location, a completely clean and well-equipped cabin and so still and peaceful, it's the most renewing experience imaginable.
I do have health challenges and particularly appreciated the ramp into the cabin and the bathroom safety bars, both of which made my stay both safer and easier.
We are now in our 70's and feel we've finally found our perfect vacation destination for our years ahead,

Our 3rd visit to Fontana Lake and Park View Cabins and our view of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park from the back deck is always amazing! ❤️ Sunrise & sunset are especially peaceful & gorgeous. Our cabin was perfect and our hosts always make it very easy for us to stay. Thank you and we'll be back!! Every time we visit and post our photos, we get lots of friends ask, "where is that??". This cabin was perfect for my husband and I, as were are both disabled, wheelchair users. It had all the necessary accomodations we needed to have a successful, non-stressful trip. The cabin is very clean and beautifully done on the inside, and the location is great for getting to nearby tourist attractions and the downtown area. The views from the cabin are absolutely stunning, with both mountains and water views! We will definitely be staying here again!

What a great place to stay. Quiet, Peaceful and so relaxing sitting on the porch admiring the beautiful view. The eagles even greeted us on the first evening. Cabin was clean and everything we could ask for. Bryson City was close to visit and hike the Great Smokey Mtns without the crowds at Gatlinburg ( where we usually stay). It was a very much needed and perfect Spring Break vacation.

We booked this little getaway as a surprise for my parents, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. My parents were extremely pleased with the cabin. The pictures that my mom sent me of the views from the cabin throughout their stay were amazing. Such beautiful views. One of the evenings, they videoed 3 bald eagles flying around behind the cabins.

This cabin is a perfect getaway. Morning coffee, watching the clouds roll by and that beautiful view of the lake was amazing. I think one of the biggest surprises was every afternoon watching a bald eagle fly along the water fishing. This place is quiet, the perfect spot for rest. The owners are super nice and responsive! The cabin was spotless and the kitchen had everything we needed. We plan to come back and bring our adult kids and rent all 3 cabins.

This property was simply beautiful. Truly breathtaking. We wanted a nice little getaway to enjoy quality time while also enjoying God’s work of art through His creation, and we got just that. We visited the area for our wedding anniversary. The cabin was exactly as described. Even though it was December the weather was mild so we were able to enjoy the porch/deck area. The view is constantly changing so you can't stop looking. Great visit! Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us. As a side note we suggest the Train Ride and Maggie Valley Scenic tours.

We took our family to Bryson City to ride the Polar Express. Our granddaughter loved it! The cabin was the ideal place to stay for our long weekend. Cozy with a breathtaking view. The hosts are great. We have already booked it again for next year!

I am an active athlete type wheelchair user who has now gotten a little older and appreciates and absolutely needs access of this kind that we experienced at Eagles Nest. The photos of the deck the ramp the parking drew me to the inside and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to not have to struggle and fight with a property for basics like shower, toilet ramp and parking. . It was perfect for me my and wife who is able-bodied and so it was my sister-in-law and brother-in-law one of the best trips of all time.. absolutely beautifully quite like we ever experienced. We have stayed at Eagle's Nest multiple times and continue to return. We already have reservations for next year. It is easy to communicate with the property owners, and they are friendly as well as informative. The facility is clean and well maintained. We saw black bear, eagles, and river otters from our deck. This is a great home base while touring the Great Smoky Mountains region.

This was our second visit at this property. It is very well maintained with comfortable furnishings. The view is incredible and we especially enjoyed watching eagles from the back porch. The kitchen was well stocked and there wasn't anything we needed to bring. You are provided with a started set of TP, paper towels etc. This should be ample supplies for a short visit but be sure to bring these items along if you are visiting for an extended stay. The driveway to the property is gravel and there is some wash out on the edge but it is easily navigable. I wouldn't recommend bringing a high performance sports car to this location. You are provided with two parking spaces right beside the property (one on each side). We plan to return and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
