Really enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and comfortable, and owner Chris was easy to communicate with. Watched the sunrise over the lake from the boathouse. Highly recommend!

Thanks for a great place! Had a relaxing time!

Chris was an excellent host, super easy to work with, helpful, and addressed any questions we had right away. The house was perfect for our vacation and had everything we needed. Best part was spending days and nights just hanging at the dock, swimming, or fishing with the kids. We loved the ability to dock our boat overnight and also loved taking the kayaks out on the lake! Beautiful propery and one of our best family vacations!

A lovely and relaxing retreat. The beds were comfy and we really enjoyed our time there between visiting family and friends. Fishing, lounging, watching the boats and wildlife.
There was a snafoo with the cleaning....so we stayed up and had to do it ourselves the first night. The owner was great and gave me a refund for cleaning. He was responsive to any and all questions. It was really delightful

The house was perfect for a nice peaceful get away. We loved the dock and enjoyed the lake all day. Our dogs enjoyed the large yard.

We had a very peaceful stay at this lake house, which is very clean and easy to use. The easy access from I-85 was helpful.
The owner of this property is truly focused on ensuring the guest experience is positive and enjoyable, trying to update older equipment, and making up for any inconvenience that may present.

Very clean inside. Dock is perfect. Deck is nice. Some maintenance needs. Missing cover on thermostat and kitchen sink faucet is leaking around top when in use. Other than that, I plan on staying there again.

It was a great place to stay on Lake Gaston. Perfect sized house with a great yard and dock!

Enjoyed our long weekend at this lake house. Dock is perfect for sitting and watching the lake, floating, fishing, swimming and kayaking. Plenty of space, quiet neighborhood, great location on the lake.

We rented this place at the last minute. Was a wonderful place to stay, great amenities and nice layout. The guest bathtub seemed like there was some leftover dog hair in it. There were ants, but an exterminator came to take care of it. Boathouse fridge, a plus! Laundry a bonus too! Relaxing and everyone had something to do. Great time and owner was great to work with. Looking forward to coming again.

I say this with the disclosure that I traded messages with the property manager during and after the trip to discuss the house.
It wasn't very clean when we checked in; in the bathrooms especially. I think this is being addressed for future guests.
The kitchen is very sparsely "furnished". Make sure to bring grill tools, lighters, food containers, etc. But I also think this has been addressed.
But, outside of these items, the house is nice. It's small but functional and the outdoor spaces are the main attraction. The back deck is nice and shady. The yard is naturally enclosed so our dog was able to be off-leash and she knew where to run and where not to go.
The boat house and dock are nice and offer good access to the lake. The house sits in a nice cove that's got good access for kayaks or paddle boards (we brought our own boards). There's some boat traffic in the cove but nothing too much.
Kidd Brother's Marine is great when you accidentally break the prop on your friend's boat.
JB Jones is a nice little general store and had fresh produce clearly brought in from a farm.
Otherwise, it's a hike to a proper supermarket, so pack accordingly!
Be aware that there's basically no cell service in the area, even on the lake. We use Verizon and were service-less most of the week.
With a little TLC and a deep clean, this house would be back in shape and be a great spot.

We swam and fished from the dock and rented a boat from a nearby Marina to cruise the lake for a day. The home is equipped with wi-fi so all the kids devices worked when we let them use. And the tv has many kid shows for them to watch on rainy days.

Perfect for our family of 5
We had a wonderful stay here and will probably book again. Appreciate the option to rent linens, so we didn’t have to schlep on our 8 hour drive to lake. Dock was nice and well appointed with floats, life vests and even a fridge! Main bedroom had a very comfortable mattress, something you don’t find very often in rental homes. Overall very pleased with our choice to stay here.

Another great week at the lake
Second time staying. Chris is very prompt answering questions we have. In a great location to our favorite fishing spots. We had pizza delivered on our last night. Private, quiet, nice water depth for swimming. And the kayaks and fire pit were a plus for us and the grandchildren. Internet/wifi good too. We spent most of our time on the dock and fishing.

We enjoyed a relaxing peaceful weekend on the lake. Fished off the dock and caught a spotted bass shortly after arrival. Took the kayaks out the next morning and caught some more bass. Fabulous location for bird watching. Explored the area and enjoyed the Rosemont Winery and Holly Grove Marina. Rained a bit in the afternoon, but no worries… tv and games at the house kept us busy. Our host was very responsive when we had questions. The lake house was exactly as described and exactly what we were looking for.

This place was very nice place to stay, could use some updates and repairs to the porch, but overall wasn't bad. The owners should make a clear house number sign at the road so the house isn’t so hard to find. Kids were super upset that the paddle boat was in such terrible shape and unusable; covered in muck. But they did enjoy the kayaks and paddled around the lake for hours, dock house had clean/new life vest which was really nice. The property was private and not manicured (in a good way) and the yard slope to the lake was easy to access the dock. I really appreciate not having to climb a thousand stairs to walk down to the dock, and so did my elderly dog. Having to bring my own towels, sheets and blankets was kind of a pain, in the future they really should get a company to provide those items so families won’t have to pack to much stuff. The trash situation is the only gripe we really had; you have to take your trash with you when you leave & dump it at a gas station down the road. This is something a cleaning service should provide and asking guest to take their trash bags with them in a packed car was really gross. Overall, this is a great piece of property on a beautiful lake in a private location and we all had a great time, the owners have a very nice piece of land.

Love the location at the end of lake Gaston so very little jet ski traffic. House was decent and perfect for what we needed.

We enjoyed spending a lot of family time outdoors on the dock here. Our girls each caught their first fish right off the dock (7 total! And the marina/tackle shop is just a 10 minute drive to pick out bait). We cruised around the cove in the paddle boat and I had the most fun kayaking with my older daughter, which was a brand new experience for her. In the heat of the day, we spent time inside watching movies together.
The house is well kept and felt very clean. We were able to find what we needed for kitchen use and also grilled out on the deck.
We appreciated that the TV and DVD were easy for our kids to operate independently. Don't expect much cell service here! We had some internet issues and the property manager was easy to contact and helpful.
The house is at a slight elevation and distance from the dock, which wasn't a problem for us re:mobility/visibility but something to consider. The neighborhood is very quiet; we felt secluded but not totally isolated. It was fun watching boaters go by from the dock! Other than the marina, we ventured to Centennial Park in South Hill and Wakeboard Willie's for icecream cones in Littleton. This was a fun break from our norm and nice to get away from it all while our kids are tracked out of school.

Enjoyed the quiet location. Has a nice dock/ sitting area along with frig. We took the kayaks out everyday. The owner was reachable and gave great recommendations for the area.

We really enjoyed staying at this property! There were a few minor issues, like the door jamming and being locked out of the house for the first hour :-) cleanliness was ok, kids found dead bugs within a few minutes of getting into the house.
Lake was amazing. Kids jumped in allll day. Was a little hard with the younger kids because no place was shallow enough for them to stand, but the dock was big enough and wide enough that they were still able to safely walk around.
Plenty of seating space, both in the house and on the dock, and kayaks really added a fun element.
Overall we would definitely stay here again!
