We spent 2 nights at the spacious cottage in an absolutely beautiful location. The communication with Louise before and during our stay was great. The cottage is comfortable and well-stocked. The bed was comfy. The garden was lovely and the views were amazing. While it was rainy while we were there, we still enjoyed watching the birds and deer as we sat by the fire. Our dog had a great time too. One tip for renters - there's a sky light and some high windows without shades in the bedroom so if you need a dark bedroom to sleep in, you'll want to bring an eye mask. :-) We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely return.

The cottage was perfect for the two of us, both big Point Reyes fans. Very comfortable inside, with soothing views of the bay wetlands from the dining table and the couches. As we are early risers, we particularly enjoyed the wooden walkway that leads out to the wetlands' edge, which offered a sweeping vista for sunrise watching each morning, and then checking on the wetland bird action throughout the day. We definitely would rent again!

We needed a quiet getaway close to some simple amenities and this cottage fit the bill! We enjoyed having just the right amount of space to be in. Great feeling both inside and out. Would definitely stay here again!

The cottage was conveniently located to all our destinations. It is completely outfitted so we could move in and relax. The kitchenwas well equipped and easy to use.
The view of the marshlands from the windows was spectacular!

The perfect place for the quiet beauty of nature. Deer in the yard, birds soaring overhead, and fog drifting in. The cabin is very comfortable and does not seem small, partly because there are so many windows with beautiful views. Louise is so responsive. Great location, as well. We hope to come back.

Louise’s well appointed home was the perfect spot on Tonales Bay to be in nature, to care for ourselves and to access all that the Point Reyes area has to offer. It has become a our gold standard for vacation rentals..

My wife were on our way to the Monterey Jazz festival and found this wonderful one bedroom cottage before braving the Golden Gate Bridge. It is close to the Port Reyes National Shoreline Area. Nice views, Elephant Seals, Sea Lions, but no elk this trip. Thank you for Sharing your home.

This was a great place to get away from the city for the weekend. A short drive from SF/Oakland. The big yard and closeness to the bay was great for bird watching and relaxing. There is a lot to explore in the area but we spent most of our time at the cottage. The cottage was lovely and with a nice kitchen. We cooked most of our meals there. We hope to return!

I loved Louise's cottage! It was spotlessly clean, the bed was super comfortable,and the house itself was bigger than I expected. The view was stunningly beautiful. I especially enjoyed watching and listening to the birds and watching the marsh rabbits that appeared early in the morning. The house also had a lovely, old fashioned cottage garden. It was just a short drive to the national seashore. I was especially pleased that the area around the cottage was not overdeveloped. The area does have a few stores and restaurants but has retained its charm and was not overrun with tourists. I'll be back.

Beautiful place. Fully equipped kitchen for bountiful vegetarian meals. Purchased supplies in pt Reyes supermarket. Went for inspiring hikes in the hills. Slept under the quiet summer sky.

I love staying in VRBOs that are cozy homes, full of a person's energy and interests. To be immersed in ecology, beautiful gardens, wild nature and literature, with art and books and personal objects making it feel like my home. There is no better way to be grounded in a new place and to learn about your surroundings. I've stayed here before, and I will do so again. This is an absolutely glorious spot - the house perfectly sited on Tomales Bay, and the spacious gardens and grounds are filled with wildlife… Birds, deer, rabbits - The view to the mountains on the other side of the bay is absolutely spectacular. The house is comfortable, warm, personal, and well appointed. We lacked for nothing. We absolutely loved our stay, and would come back in a minute. Louise is terrific. Smart, funny and kind. This is a quaint, lovely, small cottage where you will find peace and quiet. It's perfect for one person or a couple. The bed is very comfortable, and the gas fireplace keeps the cottage pleasant on cool evenings. I found a great jazz station on TV which filled the cottage with my kind of music. You can enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine on the back deck that faces Tomales bay and listen to birds singing. Everything was in good working order and well stocked with necessities.

Wonderful and homey house, peaceful and tranquil, central to the National Seashore and all it has to offer. Amenities were all-encompassing. Stars at night through the bedroom skylight were awesome. Would definitely stay again!

The two of us enjoyed watching the marsh and hillside views. It was very relaxing. The kitchen was easy to use. The day bed allowed sleeping by the picture window so we could watch the bid dipper star constellation move across the sky. The one thing that we didn't expect was the bedroom did not have a door to the kitchen and living room. Instead there are curtains to close off the bedroom. This did not ruin our stay. We would return.

A beautiful, sweet and romantic cottage with everything you could possibly need. Perfect for two people. The views from the living room and kitchen are expansive and otherworldly. Estuaries, misty hills, seabirds, frogs singing at night: enchanting. It is centrally positioned and close to Point Reyes Station for restaurants and shopping, and all trails and beaches are a short drive away. A very special place.

My wife and I enjoyed our week in Inverness. The cottage is cozy, very well furnished and close to everything Point Reyes has to offer.
The owner's instructions were clear.
We liked the views of Tomales Bay from the kitchen and living room windows. The weather was cold, but the heaters were sufficient to keep us warm.

It is in fact someone's true home, not just a well-appointed housekeeping cottage. It was especially homey for us, as the owner's interests and tastes coincided so much with our own!Nature books and bird carvings abound!
And the bed was firm and comfortable. Always a plus.
We had a lovely time doing nothing much in our favorite corner of the world, West Marin.

This was my fourth time staying at Louise's cottage and every trip has been amazing. Located right on Tomales Bay with a wooden deck leading to the water's edge, you can take in the view across the bay or spend time birdwatching (the cottage is located along a migratory route for many different birds). The cottage has an amazing spa tub and ample water pressure in the shower. The flash water heater means you always have hot water when you need it as well. The bedroom has skylights to peer out of while you rest. The kitchen is modern and an enjoyable and easy place to cook. There used to be a wood-burning fireplace, but I much prefer the updated gas fireplace... it's so much easier and you don't have to worry about the smoke from burning wood. The weather was the coldest of any of the times I've been there, but the bedroom heater and gas fireplace were more than up to the task of keeping the cottage warm and cozy. If you enjoy spending time in nature and want to have the opportunity to experience life in the middle of the vibrant ecosystem that is Point Reyes and Tomales Bay, then I think you will truly enjoy your stay.
