We had a question about the home theater and within minutes maintenance was there to guide us. The cabin was super clean. We had lots of room and the location was very convenient to all of the activities we wanted to enjoy. Being pet friendly was a bonus. Our dogs loved being able to join us. We will definitely book with them again.

The cabin is located right in between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg so it made travel easy. The property management company is excellent and extremely responsive to anything you need at any time. The inside of the cabin was clean and spacious. Only two things to report- lack of silverware, there was exactly seven forks. Last, I would have hoped for upgrades with the TVs and options to stream or have movie channels available. In fairness to the owners, the tv/cable/lack of streaming was disclosed prior to arrival. However, for the amount of money spent to stay in the cabin, those upgrades are somewhat expected. Overall we had an enjoyable, positive stay and we would return.

However, the water dispenser from the fridge stays frozen. The beds are VERY comfortable along with the rest of the furniture—we loved the couch on the main floor. Our biggest issue was noise. You can hear everything between the floor levels including the two king rooms which are above and below each other. D.J., the maintenance person was beyond helpful. He was courteous, punctual and friendly. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend this cabin is the noise. I DEFINITELY recommend Elk Springs Resort!

We have vacationed in the Smokies for 20 years and never stayed at the same cabin twice, mostly because we want to vary our experience but there have been a few Agencies/resorts we won’t return to. Elk Springs is not one of them, we are actually interested in seeing what resort amenities they have in the works. We saw construction during our stay but as of yet, no clubhouse/pool/gym/courts, etc;. Blackjack was spacious and clean, had a gorgeous wrap around deck with a quality grill and glass stone gas fire pit. The deck could use a power washing. We enjoyed the theatre size TV screen but I wouldn’t describe the set up as a theatre room and there was a glitch that reset the system when people were walking upstairs just above the unit. We loved the huge sectional sofa but not the master bed with scratchy sheets that required a step stool to get into it. The hot tub was the largest and nicest one we’ve seen, loved it! Just be advised it’s on the ground level and there is a black bear that frequents the resort at dusk walking up the hill checking the cages for trash cans to see if they’re locked. We love bears but I was a bit unsettled with no barrier on the ground level between him and I other than a picnic table. The pool table was nice but on a small loft with no room to take a shot without hitting a wall. There’s plenty to love about Blackjack(especially it’s location to Gatlinburg)and Elk springs was not notified of any of our concerns because they were mostly cabin owners issues and not simple fixes. I’m certain had we asked they would have done they’re best to accommodate us. We will look to Elk Springs again in the future when the resort is more established and as usual pick a new cabin with new experiences.

We would not stay at this cabin again because of the above. Only other note is the overall cleanliness. While the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean the cabin had large amounts of dirt and dust buildups in the higher locations such as walls and beams.

Kitchen supplies were not good, lack of forks, all the pots were small, steak knives are dull.
There was also a larger wok pan with black stuff coming off of it making it unusable.

Reviewer Comments: The location is fantastic and a short ride to the park entrance as well as local grocery stores and the arts and crats area.

The cabin itself is large, and a great place for a large family or multiple families. The downnstaris area is great for kids with 3 sets of bunk beds.

We did run into a few issues. The entire cabin had a very strong fish smell in it when we arrived. I imagine this was from the previous guests, but it wasn't neutralized prior to our arrival and was there the entire say. I requested the management to drop off a few candles to try to get rid of the smell and the only option we were offered was for an engineer to come by and spray some dissenfectant spray in the cabin. We were not confortable with the cabin being fumagated while we were in it, also with Covid19 still being active in the area.

We were notifed the day we were planning on arriving that the arcade game was broken and would't be fixed prior to us arriving which was a real bummer since that is one of the items we looked for when choosing a cabin.

This is a pet friendly cabin, and there were several stains on the rug on the in the entry area. The rug also had the scent of urine in a few spots that we discovered after playing a game in that area.

The smokies make it easy to ignore things becuase the park and surrondings itself is beautiful. The hot tub was nice, the kitchen and grill is fantastic as well as the decks.

If we were spending more time in the cabin I would have been upset but we spent much of our time in the park, but @ close to $500 a night, I would expect these types of issues not to exist.

Either way, we will be back again, as we come every year.
