Immaculate and incredibly well stocked and organized. Everything about this place is easy to negotiate. Kitchen well stocked and supplied and items where you would expect. Back up supplies like towels, paper goods and linens abundant. Beds good for rental property and very pretty view. Highly recommend.

We have stayed in Cynthia's home many times and always feel at home, but still on vacation! It is bright and clean and so Maine! Being close to Bath is a real plus. Cannot say enough good things about this property.

This is our second stay in this lovely cottage on the river. Once again we were pleased with the cleanliness and the highly artistic atmosphere of the cottage. Everything we could possibly ask for was supplied down to the detail. We love the comfort of of the plush couches, chairs and excellent beds. The original art, local ceramic dish ware and other details make this cottage a special haven for us. The location in this friendly neighborhood gives us a beautiful view with the advantage of easy access to the downtown shops, local restaurants and an easy drive to area beaches and parks. On this visit we even caught a wonderful session of Irish music at the local pub.
Thank you again for a much needed escape to our happy place!

I, my husband, adult son, and dog had a wonderful 10 day stay at “Withdrawn on the Kennebec” in early June. The location was perfect for us (near our daughter and her family). Cynthia’s house is bright, inviting and comfortable, and we found everything we needed. The enclosed front garden and back deck, as well as the large backyard (not enclosed) and river view were enjoyed by all. There’s also a lower covered deck, a pleasant refuge in the rain. Cynthia provided clear instructions, contact numbers, and suggestions for things to do, places to go. One note - the stairs are somewhat steep, the basement steps are a little treacherous, and there is a spot on each staircase where the ceiling is quite low with no warning (such as “watch your head”). My spouse and son had to remember to duck - or else conk their heads. We (including our dog!) loved Cynthia’s home and are looking forward to staying there again.

We came up here to get a bit of peace and relax. The house is beautiful, the pics to not do it justice. The view of the river from the big windows that run from end to end in the back of the house is amazing. close to so much in the mid-coast and Bath is such a great town. We had our dog with us and she loved it just as much. I would not only recommend this home but would rent again. Had a few questions and called the owner she was a delight to speak with.

Cynthia very helpful on answering questions and prompt.
Decorating the place to its setting was amazing. The personal handmade items as the kitchen island was unique.
Having books to read about Maine was insightful .
Thank you for letting us stay at your place Cynthia. Definitely would like to stay again.

This is a great cottage. The pictures are all accurate. The owner is awesome. The view of the river is stunning. Watching the moon rise over the water was breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed Bath. The farmer's market is a must! Popham beach is great and a great free day. Bath is a short hop to Wiscassett and freeport. We spent days just hanging and reading. Lots of comfy chairs to curl up into and open your book. We travel with a king charles cavalier and we would just cuddle up together. My only comment is if you are a serious cook, as I am, the kitchen is really small. The stove and oven are perfect. The frig nice and large. Plants seafood is the find of the stay. Went back 3 times in 6 days! We did not get to enjoy the outdoor spots that Ms. Jarvis has set up as it was too cold but they look welcoming. I would highly recommend this cottage on the river. It is a delight.

This was our first time using VRBO so I didn’t know what to expect. I choose this property by the reviews and for the most part they were spot on. Cynthia’s home was clean, comfortable and our stay was very relaxing. I have nothing negative to say about Cynthia’s home or the help she gave us informing us of restaurants and sites to see in the Bath area. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

We absolutely loved our stay at ‘Withdrawn on the Kennebec’! Cynthia’s home is beautiful and overlooks the Kennebec River. It’s located in a very quiet area of Bath on a dead-end street. The house is bright and colorful with a nautical theme and has lovely artwork in every room. It’s obvious Cynthia has put a lot of love into her home. The kitchen is well-appointed with everything you need. The kitchen is cozy but very functional. We spent most days exploring the surrounding area and then relaxing on the beautiful deck enjoying the serenity of the river. The location is very close to the town center where there are great restaurants and cute shops to visit. It’s also a short drive to Brunswick, Boothbay Harbor, Popham and Reid State Parks. We were sad for out three-week stay to end and hope to be back next summer. Cynthia, thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us!

Quaint New England home on the river
Quaint New England home on the river. This house was so New England and really perfect. The tiny fenced in front yard was nice for the dog who love to roll in the grass. The house was fully stocked with anything we could need and the location was easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. The only issue was the upstairs bathroom being the only one in the house. It was not a problem for us but I could see it being a problem for others. So glad we got to stay here and that the owner shares this with others a very very beautiful place and great location

This little house is tucked back at the end of one of the most beautiful streets in all of Midcoast Maine. We absolutely loved Bath, and this house was the perfect launching point for our adventures in Maine. The town of Bath is a hidden gem - the architecture, downtown, and people were all amazing. The host of the property was very communicative (which I appreciated greatly). Great place in a great town!

Lovely Art Filled Cottage Facing the River
We had a very enjoyable stay in Cindy’s cottage. Cindy personally helped us find a week that would work for us and even helped us to extend our stay. Although located close to the street, the cottage is on the dead end and is very quiet. The furnishings are cozy and very comfortable. There is fun art on every wall and the view of the river is lovely. One evening we saw an astounding full moon rise and reflected over the water.
We used the in town location as a convenient spot from which to explore the area and then return to a central spot; close to grocery stores, cute shops and restaurants.
During our stay we visited Popham Beach and our favorite, Reid State Park, three times. We loved visiting the South Park dog park which is a wonderful open area located right on the water. Finally, we celebrated our anniversary with a beautiful River Lights cruise which took off from the Maine Maritime Museum.
Our stay was the perfect combination of relaxation and activity.
Definitely hoping to return in the future!

This property is simply charming. Lots of love and attention went into the restoration and decoration of this cottage. It is the owners home and it shows. Thank you Cynthia for sharing this prize. Features beautiful sunrises over the Kennebec. Very quiet neighborhood close to local destinations..we used the access pass to Reid State park. If you’ve never been there..GO. We walked the .09 mile from the closed access road to Tobies Point as it was closed to cars due to worker shortage. Don’t miss this magnificent view. We had it to ourselves. We then walked the one Mile beach to the main parking area. This beach with its huge waves and wide beaches is a don’t miss. Llbean..30 min away. Don’t hesitate to rent this property..

Peaceful retreat, gorgeous setting
This was such a comfortable and peaceful place to stay. It had everything we needed for our Maine vacation -- delightful, colorful indoor spaces for relaxing and an outdoor deck perfect for lounging and reading (and looking out at the sturgeon jumping out of the Kennebec River). Located in a quiet neighborhood just a quick drive to downtown, it's a perfect spot for enjoying Maine's midcoast region.
