Fantastic service from the owner, Murat - he met us personally, even though it was quite late… The room was lovely, and the building was set in a beautiful area of Istanbul. It was close to the beauty spots of Balat and the cafe scene :) We had everything we needed and would definitely come again!

When me and my boyfriend first stumbled upon this flat on AirBnB, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online and even better.Kiki and Murat are the most thoughtful, gracious hosts. They provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around. The flat is just perfect! Kitchen is compact and contains everything one needs and fabulous rooftop views. The bed is comfortable, bathroom and terrace are excellent. Location is incredible. Kiki and Murat had excellent recommendations and was of great help. They went way beyond to make our holiday comfortable and memorable. Thanks Kiki and Murat and Fener Sweet for a wonderful time!

Everything was excellent

Great rooms, well-furnished, extremely clean room and bathroom. Access to spacious living room/kitchen, free tea + coffee all day, balcony and roof with good views of the city. Murat is very kind and takes care of any needs, helped me extend my stay and call a taxi when I was leaving. The place is also in Balat Neighbourhood, and very close to historic places and mosques in Fetih district!

Murat and his wife are amazing people, really welcoming and helpful for all kinds of questions. The location is central, quiet and safe.

The best location and the best host :). Murat taken care of us in every minute of our stay. He is very friendly and open person <3 House is in the middle of the magical district Balat. Is it old house where you can feel the spirit of Istanbul. Room was really clean and comfortable. The view from the kitchen was great! We definietely will be back :)

The hosts are the nicest:) They take good care of their property and make your stay as comfortable as possible. I've stayed in many different places in my travels and I have to say this is really a rare find. In terms of the location, it's a quiet and beautiful neighborhood with a bunch of cafes and restaurants within walkable distance. The bus and ferry stations are pretty close, too.

I am so happy with my decision to stay at Fener Sweet. Chichi and Murat are truly exceptional hosts, very welcoming and caring of everyone who stays at their beautiful house. Location of the accommodation is perfect (not too far from the heart of Istanbul, yet calm, with both bus and ferry stations nearby), as Fener is an interesting area to explore.

How lucky I am to have chosen Fener Sweet ,can I call it my fate? I have stayed in this hotel for 14 days, but I still feel that it is not enough, because of the owner of this house, and Lovely guests from Russia,I would like to stay there more and more days! The house owner （Chichi and Murat, a lovely couple）I called Chichi Mom,she cooks breakfast for me, and I enjoyed cooking dinner with her, and her thoughtfulness and caring is something I felt very grateful for….and her husband Murat, I was impressed by his sense of humor,and they arranged the house very clean and tidy, cozy,and there is also a beautiful balcony,Chichi Mom planted a lot of beautiful flowers, and the scenery looking down from the balcony was fascinating,if I give Istanbul a seven out of ten ,but the owner of the house and the guests in the house are all ten out of ten to me! I will come back to Istanbul sooner or later, because I have my lovely family there ！🤍

Great location, not far away from the pier. The hotel itself is great - clean and cozy, nice view on the terrace. I really liked How the owner hosts and communicates with guests. Helped me get a taxi to and from the airport, explained several times how to use public transport, and prompt me to some lovely places to visit.

I didn't feel hot, but air conditioning for each room will be nice to have.

if you see free — book at the same second, it's a gift of fate and a great luck, I'm not kidding. I will return to Istanbul for this warmth and comfort, because it is very rare to be a guest and feel at home. This is an amazing, warm family with whom you will make friends from the first minute! Marat has an amazing sense of humor, and I started calling Chichi mom a couple of days after I met him :) And I'm not the only one, all the guys I met here stayed, extended and no one wanted to leave!

The room is big. The bathroom is nice. The neighborhood is a mixture of conservative locals and tourists.

The WiFi is very bad. We had a problem with it and the owner was ignoring us so we had to fix it ourselves. It was kind of hard to find the host. The rooms are not soundproof - you could hear the footsteps of other guests. We even got a complaint from one of the owners for stepping too loud. There is an air conditioner but the remote is not in the room. There is no sign outside so it's hard to find the hotel.

the bed and bathroom were ok

it was not as advertised and after complaining to booking. com the advert changed, had it of been like this initially I would never have booked. We were supposed to have a balcony with garden view, this never happened, according to the owner we had a bigger room, upon arrival we were not given the option. there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room ( we were offered after complaining). The kitchen is shared between the owners and the guests, but be warned, the owners wife does not like you cooking in it( she complained to me about the smell however it was a normal cooking smell, no garlic or fish was being cooked), when we said to the owner about this he said he didn’t know because he wasn’t there. Our room was on the first floor and to get to the kitchen we had to go up two flights of steep stairs.
