For the price, the location, room and service was exceptional, really fantastic in fact. The Hanazono free shuttle stops every 20 minutes right at the entrance to the hotel, and the Niseko United bus stop is right by the road in front of the hotel. Our twin room was very spacious, with ample storage space (3 separate wardrobes, multiple shelves and a desk). A great touch was the large refrigerator with freezer in the room. We also loved the bathroom, with a small but deep tub for soaking after a long day of snowboarding. Washlet toilet was in a separate room, another thoughtful touch. Water was strong and hot. We have stayed in much more expensive and “exclusive” hotels in Niseko, and Midtown at least matches them all in terms and quality and surpasses them in terms of price. Service staff were also exceptional, and provided a free pickup to and from the Welcome Centre when we arrived and when we left. I would book again without any hesitation and recommend Midtown Niseko to anyone who wants a comfortable, convenient and wallet-friendly accommodation in Hirafu.
It was a little far to walk to downtown Hirafu and the slopes (at least 20-30 minutes), but that is a minor quibble when the bus is so frequent and convenient.

Friendly staff, the staff picked up/dropped off from welcome centre, shuttle buses every 20 mins to and from the hotel to the slopes, room is small but has everything, common rooms with kitchen, convenience store close by.
Location is not walkable to slopes 25+ mins

I liked the location, a very convenient shuttle ride to the slopes and town of Hirafu or an easy late night walk (not in ski boots). It was a little off the beaten path which made it quiet . The room was clean and spacious by Japanese standards. I love that they have a small gym on sight and very much appreciated the common space on each floor that allowed you to cook some meals and do laundry.
The breakfast at the hotel was overpriced and below expectations in my opinion. Don’t waste your money, just pick something up slopeside. The staff was nice but less than helpful when answering questions. And the price, although less than the surrounding properties, I don’t think was worth the trade offs in terms of location, restaurants or lack of amenities.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean. The curtains in the room also ensured a total blackout in the room, so was not awakened by the 4 am sunrise! Wifi in the room was excellent too. Had the opportunity to visit some of their long-term stay apartments which I would definitely like to check out for the future.

Very new and clean, with adequate facilities like common room for cooking and gym and carpark.
The diner isn't open and it's hard to find food around in the off season. Common room also doesn't have plates/bowl/utensils so we had to separately get from the concierge

I was expecting smaller rooms, but the room as quite adequate and generally nicely laid out and comfortable. The 'common' room was a nice touch, even though I didn't need to use it. Restaurant was closed for the season, but looked nice and was good when I had eaten there a few years ago.

Our stay here was excellent. Really great value. The room was spacious enough for two of us to spread out. We had a fantastic view from out window. The room and bathroom were very clean. There is a small kitchen on each floor and we were able to cook eggs for breakfast every morning (there is a convenience store at the front of the hotel). The hotel is about a 20 minute walk into the main area of towns (ski lifts, restaurants etc) but there are regular shuttles and a taxi home was affordable for later at night. There was a large secure room to store our ski equipment and hooks on the heater to dry out our ski clothes. Would definitely stay here again!
The beds were quite firm and the kitchen was not very well equiped (had to buy paper plates and cutlery from the convenience store which felt quite wasteful).

Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Hana and Hirafu busses right to the door.
Mattress wasn’t fantastic. They’d be better off even with the cheap mail out foam mattresses.
Would be great if they offered dinner, they have the facilities. I think it was down to shortage of staff.

In room drying rack very convenient. Breakfast was good quality and value! Parking very convenient. Kitchen very clean and useful.
Rooms are very hot. Mattresses a bit hard. Shower had limited water flow. Staff were unhelpful about using luggage rack to transport suitcases on arrival.

- I like the concept of common room, it balances the cons of lacking restaurant
- Easy to access a nearby convenience store.
- The shuttle service ends quite early in the evening
- Very few dining options nearby

The location is close to Hirafu and Kuchan downtown. There is a Lawson next to the building. it was convenient.
The bath tab was not done cleaning properly.

the property is a 15 mins walk from the Main Street but they have a mini bus and also the local free shuttle. the rooms are quite tiny with a set of bunks and an additional single bed (triple room) but has been laid out so well with 3 little wardrobes and safes. a tiny bathroom with a super deep little bath tub and a seperate Japanese style toilet!
fridge in the room and a common kitchen so would be great for young people on a budget. we stayed here one night as our apartment wasn’t available.
mattress was extremely hard however I slept well!

great location with
the pillow….. big issue
i am an easy sleeping person, but out of my 9days stay… at least half was terrible sleep (even 2-3 morning woke up with bad neck)
and that’s fatal for a snowboard trip

The staff was always super friendly and helpful. Very clean room and bathroom & plenty of clean towels. There’s a lot of storage space too. Great fridge for drinks and a beautiful view from the small window.
I’ve stayed in many hotels & houses & apartments all in lower Hirafu & near the Grand Hirafu gondola over the past 2 years so it was hard for me to get used to the location & rely on a fairly long walk or mobbed public shuttle buses. There were mornings when people behind me did not get on the first shuttle to Hanazono because it was crammed with people standing in the aisle.
They should really offer at the very least one “early bird” shuttle using their own big van that’s parked right in front of the hotel. They say somewhere that they have a shuttle service but it’s just clever wording because the public Hanazono/Grand Hirafu shuttle stops there. It was slightly misleading to be implied that it’s their shuttle as I experienced in other hotels when you could go right to the lifts at any time of day when you are ready to go. The public shuttle starts too late for first lifts.
The beds are not comfortable at all. The mattress is super thin and it feels like a folding cot that you get added to a room in other hotels when you have a 3rd person staying in a twin room.
I’m not sure how the grading/scoring works but overall I’m hoping all of my input gives this place an 8.5
Most taxi companies went out of business during corona so getting taxis this season is difficult to impossible so the shuttles are a slow way to get around when there’s a lot of traffic after 4:00 pm. It took 45 minutes from Grand Hirafu Welcome Center one day with screaming kids fighting over who was touching the other one’s goggles.
The 20-minute walk to Lower Hirafu isn’t too bad when you have the beautiful Mt Yotei view along the way.

extremely well-designed room that utilised limited space cleverly. set up for sharing friends or family for snow activities - three people get their own safes, cupboards, beds and toiletries. helpful and English-speaking staff. laundry and good kitchen facilities on each floor.
room was small but again, cleverly designed. not the cheapest but decent value for Niseko we think. location is good for those who want to be just slightly away from the busy area - just a 3 min drive.
