Staff were very helpful and kind and the hotel had great facilities

Thought the room was very dated wallpaper bubbling, shower head old and leaking, toilet flush not working. After speaking to a member of staff I was told there is only 10 rooms that have been renovated which is disappointing that these rooms are used for the pictures on booking. Com

Location is great.

Stayed 2 times now but I always get put in a room that is in a separate building to the actual hotel. Not inconvenient walking with your kids in swimsuits , in the rain through the car park to go to the swimming pool. And rooms/ furniture pretty dated

Our room was spacious, modern, and clean. The breakfast had a variety of foods. The gym had lovely and friendly staff.

The grounds of the hotel are fantastic. The private gym was good and everything else was disappointing.

Most advertised facilities were closed. Of the multiple pubs and restaurants advertised on-site only one was open. The food was of a poor quality. Service was very poor throughout our stay. The breakfast was not good and a manager had a loud argument with kitchen staff in front of the guests.

Paid for breakfast but didn't eat on day 2

The receptionist was extremely rude and made me feel o had no money to pay when the card machine want working. She tried manually and it still didnt go through. My partner tried his card it failed so she decided it wad off line. They phoned me at 9.30pm on the first night to come to reception to pay. As I was undressed ready for bed I had to get redressed . We were not even given an apology!!!

Superb food and bar service. Lovely location. Very nice Spa.

Our room - 161 - was very, very cold. We reported this to reception but waited over 3 hours for a free standing heater to be delivered and - frankly - it wasn't enough. I'd had to contact reception twice about it and only managed to get a heater delivered when I managed to physically track down the manager and ask for his help.

Spacious room. Good view. Decent facilities.

A covered walkway to the main hotel building would have been appreciated. Bar menu was okay but unexciting.

Kids are not allowed to the saunas and jaccuzi. Also there are time limits for kids to be in the pool (starting 18.30). Water in the kids pool was really cold. Staff was unfriendly in the reception and also at the spa facility.

Lovely setting. we particularly enjoyed the art in the room- different from usual hotels. Good, tasty bar food, a pity the main restaurant not open as menu looked great.

The plug in bath was faulty which should be checked while cleaning.

Breakfast was amazing,best we’ve ever had at a hotel 👍🏻Tea tray was comprehensive ,never usually enough teabags but there were plenty and lovely Yorkshire Tea!

Maybe an extra blanket and pillows,I was cold in the afternoon although overnight very warm! Was never going to do a ‘Four in a bed’ inspection but there was a hair in the bath and on the towel,didn’t put me off though.

food, dinner at flame was overpriced for what we had. the breakfast was terrible the only thing we liked was the toast and juice.

Lovely spacious room with fridge. Plentiful breakfast. Lovely grounds. Free parking. Free use of the attached leisure facilities swimming, swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room & sauna & gym equipment. Staff very welcoming.

Room was too warm, but was spacious and had a great view.

The breakfast was quite good (except for the rather poor coffee and cheap sliced bread) and the bar area was nice, modern and had a good kids area. The kids liked the bunk beds.

Unfortunately I wanted to like this hotel but overall our experience was really dissappointing. The room really wasn't great- it was hotter than the sun and couldn't be cooled down as there was no air conditioning and the balcony door could not be left open as it could be accessed from outside. The bed sheets on one of our beds had blood on them, and although this was changed when we complained, it really should have been spotted by housekeeping staff when the bed was made up. The curtains had a disgusting stain on them. The floorboards in the room creaked really loudly which made it hard to use the bathroom in the night which is difficult in a family room. The water pressure was terrible. And overall the decor was dated and worn out looking. Outside the room, the staff in the leisure centre were very strict and enforced an arbitrary rule that under 16's (even if they are competent swimmers) can't go in the pool at all without their parents being in the water - we weren't even allowed to watch them from the side. So we had to sit in the rather chilly water the whole time the children were swimming and couldn't warm up as kids weren't allowed in the jacuzzi or steam room. It all felt a bit joyless being watched like hawks and not allowed to take our eyes off our older kids for a second. Not the relaxing experience it should have been! We booked a table for dinner in the bar via the reception, and when we got there nobody seemed to know anything about the booking. As there were several larger groups in, there weren't any tables left for us to sit at. So we had to eat dinner on a coffee table which was really annoying. The decor everywhere other than the bar was very dated and old fashioned. Our room was in an external annex and we had to walk out in the rain to get to the main building but there were no covered walkways or umbrellas provided.

We were attending a 60th Wedding Anniversary in Hotel Restaurant. Food was excellent as was Breakfast the next day.

Lift was out of service but only a few steps up to our room.

non functional windows, ac/heating not working, pool was ok.
