We loved absolutely everything about staying at The River Lee Hotel! Our room was immaculately clean as was the entire property, the location is fantastic, the beds were comfortable and the whole place just felt great. But more than all that, the staff are wonderful here — we didn’t meet a single person who wasn’t kind and helpful. One manager in particular went above and beyond when both my partner and I fell ill the day we arrived at the hotel. He truly took care of us and made us feel safe while far from home and checked in with us throughout our stay. Absolutely above and beyond. We’ll never forget his kindness! We highly recommend the River Lee and we’re looking forward to coming back!

Too much noisy irritating music in the dining area. I asked repeatedly to have this turned down or turned off but was told they could not do so. This more or less ruined a family gathering as conversation was difficult. Finally like everything in Ireland far too expensive! The Irish know this well enough!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was immaculate.

We were at River Lee 2 nights. Fire alarms went off both nights 3 in the middle of the night. Front desk staff gave us free parking for 2 nights of disrupted sleep - which was a nice gesture. We had a room overlooking the River Lee. However, the seal on the window (between the two panes) was broken, so the view was fogged and you couldn't see clearly. The carpet in the common areas was worn and looked shabby. Ordinarily, I don't mind...but for a hotel that markets itself as a luxury hotel, the condition of the carpet didn't match the brand.

The costs were far more on booking.com than if booked direct through hotel website. it really is far too expensive for the location .

I don't like the constant messages from this hotel.

Staff happily moved us to another, larger room when we found a leak in the bathroom of our original room on check-in. Great location - very close to UCC and the English Market, comfortable beds, clean room and swimming pool on-site. Very reasonably priced parking for hotel guests.

Avoid rooms no. 243 and 245. A boxing punch bag is attached via metal links to the ceiling in the gym directly below the rooms. Chances are you get woken up at 6am (as we were) by a boxing enthusiast, whose practice sounds like a cargo train passing through an iron bridge. The information given at the reception on swimming pool access hours for kids was inaccurate, leading to a disappointing evening. When we use the pool on the second day, we found the water quite cold by comparison with a public swimming pool we visited the previous day. Male pool changing facilities not the cleanest. Breakfast was ok but not worth EUR 25 per person.
