Room was lovely, nice size. Location nice, being next to a large park. Breakfast room was more than adequate with a lovely outlook over the well-maintained rose garden. Reception staff faultlessly courteous too.

Ein in eine Parkanlage integriertes Hotel. Am Rand des Hegley Parks gelegen. Und in Spaziernähe zum Botanischen Garten. Auch das Zentrum kann zu Fuß erreicht werden. Die Zimmer sind mit dem Komfort aller Doubletree Hotels eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist kein Highlight.

Enttäuschend fanden wir, dass man Cappuccino zusätzlich bezahlen muss.

We liked the architecture of the hotel, which includes nice garden courtyards and its location opp Hagley Park.

The utilitarian breakfast restaurant that was not particularly welcoming. Confusion about where to get tea and when it arrived it was not very hot and disappointing.

Noisy heat pump only had high and fan speed,heat control not very effective.

check in experience could have been better. I arrived at 149pm and was told all rooms were being cleaned and that I could only check in at 3pm and was told to wait, despite me asking clearly if one of my two booked rooms was available. My spouse immediately filled up a hilton honors application card, and lo and behold, my 2 rooms were instantly available! I would have been very satisfied to be told initially that it was the policy of the hotel that check in time was 3pm, but not to be told an untruth that no clean rooms were available. it would have been very nice if the counter staff had just said that he would try to get me a room, an hour before official check in time, irrespective of me signing up as a hilton honors member. Thats what customer service is all about, IMHO.

Bathroom poorly stocked Hairdryer didn't work Our room was downgraded owing to a blockage in the sink - no refund offered (although we did get free breakfasts) No porters available to assist with luggage Apart from one friendly staff member in the restaurant, staff were distant (they were still polite) We received an email just prior to arrival implying that we could get an upgrade; when I followed the link it led nowhere so I had to call the hotel to find out what the story was, only to be told that was an automatic email and didn't apply to our room.

Brilliant service, clean room, comfy bed. Meals brilliant. Brilliant service from Donna at breakfast, noithing was a problem happy, and helpful.

There was nothing we could fault.

Booked the room a year ago (had this trip planned for awhile), arrived after 4pm but didn’t have a room ready for us? Not really sure why, then had to wait @40 mins for a room but receptionist very nice Pillows hard and poor quality Would have been nice to have tea & coffee on the table instead of having to go up & bother the staff for more at breakfast

Service particularly from the lady in the restaurant was exceptional. She went out of her way to make us feel valued. We arrived after travelling non stop for 37 hours, she sat us at a table and brought out chilled drinks and recommended lovely food from the menu. She even went to see if one of our two rooms would be ready early so that we could just change clothes and put our bags away. She was brilliant!!

We asked for two rooms close together. We were in two separate wings.

Very comfortable, beautiful gardens and facilities and helpful staff. There was a lovely feeling of calm throughout.

Our only minor irritation was the complimentary shower and shampoo could not be detached from the wall to use in the bath!

Bathroom wasnt completely smelling fresh when we arrived, but that was fixed quickly.

Location was nice on the park but it was a long walk into city. Rather corporate feel so not a very personal service.

I loved all the dinners and lunches I had there. The welcome cookie was so appreciated and delicious.

Absolutely incredible breakfast selection. Great location - on the far side of Hagley Park from the city. Around 20-30 mins walk through beautiful mown parkland and Christchurch’s famous botanical gardens.

The room was a little tired and very ordinary. The hotel in general would benefit from a refresh.

For me the location was very good as it was near the park. That may not be suitable for all. The grounds of the property are gorgeous. The bed was very comfortable, could connect my phone to TV for Nexflix etc. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and it was very good.

The bathroom could do with an update, the bath plug didn’t work well. Breakfast food was good but the service was confusing, only certain people can order you an egg, had to ask for coffee. Sensed an odd hierarchy in the staff.
