Excellent hotel, located in the centre of Franschoek. Plenty of free parking, nice room with wooden heater stove which we used. The staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was also very good, cooked to order. Everything was well organised.

It’s a lovely boutique hotel in the perfect position sitting just off one of the squares on the main Franschoek high street. You have walking access to everything you need and the staff at the hotel are wonderful. It makes you feel so cozy and at home

Nice big room with a comfy bed and excellent shower. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel is in a brilliant location for restaurants and shops. Plenty of parking is provided. There was even a view of the mountains. Very handy for the wine tram kiosk

Breakfast

Breakfast was very pleasant.

There are many steps going up to reception and to the rooms. There is no lift or porter. This is a problem with heavy suitcases or for disabled people. I requested a firm pillow which was not provided.

The location was great, the views from the bedroom and hotel were spectacular and the staff were very friendly.

The bathroom had mould in the shower, the safe in the room could not be used, the frosted glass screen separating the bathroom from the room could not be closed or opened (it was a sliding door) and I felt that the breakfast offering was poor relative to other hotels.

Brilliant location, lovely room with awesome view over the mountains, staff were very friendly and helpful (booked us a taxi into town). Would stay here again.

Breakfast could be improved a little bit with some more choices and including different type of coffee (it was still very good but expect a little bit more for the price and a good breakfast is needed before the wine!)

Room TV and phone didn’t work. Shower door allowed water to pour onto floor. Supposedly fresh bath towel was soiled.

The view from the window was amazing. The location was very close to the centre but not at all noisy. The parking was underneath the building but above ground - very convenient. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very good.

The bathroom could have been cleaner. The shower cubicle had some mould deposits. There were two/three flights of stairs to our room - being on the first floor meant you had the great view however! There was no outside space. The location behind the shops made this difficult but it would have made the stay so much nicer.

Amazing view and nice bathtub. Breakfast was very delicious and staff very friendly and helpful. Our pick-up driver hadn't arrived on time and the receptionist quickly called them and helped us without us asking. Location is perfect as is right in the middle of the town. Nice fan on the ceiling for when the AC wouldn't work due to load shedding.

WIFI only worked the first day and on the last day we waited about an hour for breakfast.

Nice location, hotel looked tidy (in terms of first impression)

While sleeping around 00:30 at night we heard a noise on the bed. When we switched on the lights we saw a cockroach crawling on the bed sheets. We tried to chase and kill it but it hid in a hole. We blocked the hole with the help of the staff that was on the night shift (this was around 1am at night). Then we tried to go back to sleep (even though we were a bit hesitant to do so as we were quite disgusted by the whole thing). But we then heard another noise, this time on the curtains next to the bed, which turned out to be a second cockroach (the photos of which I have included in the review). We didn't sleep at all at night after that point. When we spoke with management in the morning and we showed them the photos they told us that there was nothing they could do as the cockroaches crawl up the pipes and live in the room. I gave the hotel a rating of 4 (which might be a bit generous) as I am not sure what to give to, what is supposed to be, a good hotel which acknowledges that you might have to sleep with cockroaches some times.
