I enjoyed the pool About a 5 min walk to beach but the roads aren’t paved Good for large groups

The bed was so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep The bugs ate me up inside the villa There was stains on the sheets and no comforter just a thin sheet You need transportation to get into town unless your ok walking a mile

This is a very nice serviced apartment complex. The apartment we rented had 2 rooms and terrace with a kitchen/sitting area. The swimming pool and the hotel grounds are absolutely fabulous. They are extremely well-maintained. Ramon and his wife who take care of the complex are really nice people and always willing to help. They really put a lot of effort to make you feel comfortable. The botanic garden around the corner from Villas Allen is worth a visit. Nice to be close to Puerto Viejo, I would definitely return.

The swimming pool is only open from 9 am to 7 pm. It is still very hot in Puerto Viejo at that time and it is a pity that the pool cannot be used before 9 am or after 7 pm. As expected, the pool does not have a guard, but, surprisingly, at exactly 7:00 pm, the owner (Sonia) comes to the pool to kick everybody out. The kitchen needs to be better equipped. It would be nice to have one sharp knife and newer pans. The freezer did not work. Breakfast would be nice too. You need a car to be at Villas Allen, because restaurants are more than 1 km away. The only restaurant in the vicinity of Villas Allen is L'Ancora Blu that is expensive and probably provides the worst service in the whole Puerto Viejo.
