The lodge is very quaint. Drop your Shoes at the door and throw on the slippers. The checkin is very simple. They had my reservation printed out, handed me my key and had a map on how to get to my room, what the meal times were, and wifi password. For those skiing and snowboarding, they even have an alternate entrance where you can store your gear to dry.

I am a tall guy so the standard Japanese sized beds were a little short but served their purpose.

While the facility was old, it was exceptionally clean. The owner's were very nice and the breakfast was amazing. Also, the onsen was great.

The bed was a bit too firm for my tastes, but overall not too bad.

The breakfast was fantastic! The waiter was so very good and was at your table with coffee, tea, water as soon as your glass was empty. Plenty to eat for breakfast. Was a great value.

Great location - about 70-100 m from the slop. The hotel personnel was really..really nice, very friendly and happy to help with everything! The lovely lady (I think the Pension owner) even gave us a lift to Hakuba Shopping Centre and for money exchange! Very big room, actually 2 rooms together, can easily fit 4 people). Very comfortable beds, every day service, delicious breakfast and beautiful classic music while you are having it! The property has private shower in a room and very nice bath in basement with a shallow hot mini pool. It was so great for sore muscles! :) Highly recommend!
