We travel quite a bit and have stayed in dozens of accommodations. Each had their charm, pros and cons. But if I had to pick a favorite, Hotori would be it. The home is so inviting, well decorated and impeccably maintained. It's truly one of those instances where I can safely say that the online pictures don't do it justice. The property looks even better in person. So much thought went into every corner of the house. Our group loved it so much we extended our stay. The breakfast was great, the location was excellent and easily accessible by public transit, and their entire staff was extremely friendly and prompt. They went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed, always responded to our inquiries super fast, and even helped our group recover a wallet we had lost during our commute from Kyoto station to the home. Hotori was the highlight of our visit to Kyoto. A beautiful property with the friendliest team running it. We hope to be back here soon.

We loved everything here! The staff was excellent and always made sure our needs were met! The location is also perfect, with a lot of restaurants and attractions near, such as Hōkan-ji. The staff made us a list of restaurant recommendations which were all within walking distance from the home. We really enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend it to everyone!!!

The old and modern Kyoto “Machiya” combined in one house! Great building and location. Since we are under the state of emergency and difficult to eat out, the staff gave us very kind support to find the right place for our dinner. Order and delivery was done by the staff. Great hospitality! The house was also very clean and perfectly equipped. We enjoyed the high quality services such as amenities (shampoo, hand soap etc.), linens, beds, and electronic devices (toaster, micro wave, coffee machine). We’ve stayed at many villa, but first time to meet a villa with concierge service like in luxury hotels. Thank you and love to come back again!!
