I recently stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day, and I have nothing but great things to say about our experience. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and we were impressed by the cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the property. The room itself was beautiful, with a serene view of the lake and surrounding landscape that made our stay even more relaxing. We appreciated the comfortable bed, the modern amenities, and the overall atmosphere of the room. One of the highlights of our stay was the idea of communal dining, which allowed us to meet other guests and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. The food was exceptional, and we enjoyed every moment of the experience. In addition to the communal dining, the hotel offered a variety of activities that kept us entertained throughout our stay. From tennis to kayaking, we had plenty of options to choose from and loved every moment. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway (romantic or otherwise). The staff, the room, the dining experience, and the activities all exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely give it a 5-star rating.

The delicious food and generous catering throughout the day, great atmosphere, very kind staff, beautiful natural surroundings, excellent communal dinners, the retreat feel of the place overall, the fantastic cottage and secluded private space I stayed in

The noise from the gun shooting going on nearby for many hours ever day (which was in marked contrast to the retreat feel of UMVA) The noise from the maintenance works on the premises (ongoing for several days)

No words can describe this place. Me and wife are blown away by everything this placed offered us : the concept of UMVA like a retreat and the team just so attentive to details (I mean every detail literally) - I cant stop telling people about this place and we are definitely coming back ! p.s: Diane and Joanne are truly amazing professional attentive and helpful.

Such as incredible stay at Umva! I felt at home right away. Diane, Janet and Joan are very caring and provided us with an amazing service. Jado was great to help us do kayaking and tennis. And the chef cooked us a delicious diner. My favorite part of this place remains the design and architecture, unlike anything I had seen before. I will come back for sure, very soon I hope.

UMVA Muhazi is AMAZING! The views, the structure and design of the space, the food, the activities, the hospitality and attention to details all contributed to a wonderful stay and escape from Kigali! I came for just a day mid-week and returned to Kigali feeling so refreshed. The staff are friendly, attentive, and polite, and were always ready to help out. The clay tennis court with a view of lake Muhazi makes UMVA probably one of my favorite places to play and I am sure that Rafael Nadal would agree if he gave it a try :) I will definitely be back!

The location is so convenient from Kigali, making this the perfect getaway. From start to finish we the experience at UMVA was incredible. We were greeted warmly by the staff who knew us by name, offered us a delicious welcome juice, and ushered us to our rooms. The rooms were so well-designed with beautiful architecture. The shower was amazing. We spent the afternoon kayaking, standup paddleboarding, and playing tennis. We joined the other guests for a community dinner, which was the best part of the trip. The 6-course meal was sublime, each dish was delicious and beautifully displayed, and we enjoyed getting to know the other guests while we dined. We all sat by the fire after dinner. The following morning we had a delicious breakfast, spent more time kayaking on the lake and playing tennis, before sadly departing back to Kigali. We will certainly be back many times, and I highly recommend UMVA Muhazi as your next Rwanda destination.

UMVA Muhazi is a beautiful lodge throughout. the architecture with its rammed earth walls as a centrepiece is stunning and blends very well with the preserved natural surrounding. All the design features and the addition of art pieces in selected spots are very thoughtful and draw the eye. The staff are incredibly attentive and polite, and always ready to help- whether with a special meal request or sports activities of which UMVA Muhazi offers many! Last but not least- the 6-course dinner was fantastic. The food was delicious, every course was creatively crafted and they were even able to accommodate for my food intolerances.

Umva is such an excellent place to stay. The food is excellent. The staff are all lovely and cater to your needs. The view is magnificent and there are so many fun things to do (Kayaking, Stand-up Paddleboarding, Tennis, Massage, Birding etc). I'll definitely be back!
