An amazing place to stay, and we hope yo be back doon. Our only complaint is there was no hot water at all.

The Conquistador Hotel has one of the best views in Puerto Rico, without a doubt. The facilities built around this amazing space were originally also exceptional but you can see the wear and tear of the time and use. Some spaces need new flooring (such as the balconies). The food in the restaurants was pretty good but somewhat overpriced.

It was wonderful.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The staff is wonderful.
The on site restaurants are good but expensive.

This was our first time at a higher end resort, so my expectations may have been a little high in some areas, however, some of my frustrations were definitely warranted. We booked primarily for the use of Palomino Island, and after making the reservation, I called the resort to get the details on how that works. I was told that I would be able to make reservations for the ferry upon check-in, but was assured that they've never had issues with guests not being able to get to the island daily. When I checked in, I was told there were NO reservations for ferry for the duration of our stay, but not to worry, they often have no-shows, so you can still get on the ferry after those with reservations boarded. I was also told that ALL rooms had a pullout bed when I called about the ferry (major issue for our family due to the ages of our kids), but during check in was told that was not the case. The following morning, we got to the ferry dock, and an employee told us that there would absolutely not be anyone allowed to board without a reservation. The boat left with at least 1/3 still available, but we were not allowed to board. We called the front desk three times before getting an answer- that the rules had changed, but they would make an exception, however, there were no open spots on any of the ferries for the rest of that day. My daughter was also charged as an adult for the "temporary breakfast buffet", and after two calls to the front desk, we gave up on getting that refunded.

The resort has beautiful views of the island and ocean. Rooms are average and on the side of dated with the exception of the amazing ocean views from the balcony. Kids enjoyed the water park. Make sure you make reservations to go to the island right away so you can reserve a spot because they fill up quickly. Live Music in the big room on Friday night was a nice addition.

This is a return trip to The El Comquistador and I won’t be returning. The customer service is terrible. When we arrived we were told that we were only allowed one hour at the beach for the entire week that we were staying here. We were told that a bellhop would bring our bags to the room and nobody ever came. We were sent to our room (which was quite nice) but down the funicular with no food at the restaurant down there or any availability for food and a 90 minute wait to get back up because one funicular car was out of service. A call to the manager was unanswered and a submitted complaint on their contact us page only led to a message to “we will have the management get back to you” - which never happened. This place needs a lot of customer service improvement to earn my vacation bookings again

The resort was beautiful. Everything was awesome from food & drinks to activities and amenities. Only complaint we had was the roach we found flying around our room. Besides that would definitely recommend.

Beautiful huge property totally family focused. As a couple on a trip we felt a little out of place on this beautiful family focused property. Kids everywhere. Not good not bad just fact. If I was staying with a young family I’d for sure return but as a couple this wasn’t the place for us.

We had a great stay at El Conquistador! The resort is beautiful, and extremely large - almost overwhelmingly so (to get between the upper and lower levels requires a ride on a funicular). There is so much to do, between the many pools, the water park (which for the time being, is included with your stay - although in the past has had an extra admission fee), the private island, the golf courses, etc. All of the staff members we met were also so friendly and attentive. We initially booked a room in Las Brisas building on Hotels.com, but were notified by the hotel before arrival that we would actually be in the Marina building, as the Brisas building was full. We were initially disappointed by this, particularly as the Marina is SO far from the lobby/parking area and most restaurants, but it ended up being nice to be close to the water park and the ferry to the private island. It was also connected to the nearby town (Las Croabas) by a small road, and there you can find many additional restaurants and kayaking tours of the nearby bioluminescent bay. It was nice to have some nearby local restaurants (and more affordable options) for lunch/dinner. The hotel is quite pricey, although given the many amenities, I think overall worth it; would maybe just recommend eating off site intermittently to save money, as the restaurants we tried were only okay and probably not worth the high prices. But overall stay was fantastic, and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful views. Exceptional service. We loved the golf course and the visit to Palomino Island. We are definitely planning a return trip!

Hotel is still undergoing renovations. Our room's A/C would not turn off or adjust to thermostat settings accordingly. As a result, our room was too cold all night & day.

Loved the resort. Great amenities, clean, comfortable. Front desk service was not great. We waited past the check in time for our rooms - twice since we upgraded rooms mid stay — and both times they never called to give us status or let us know it was ready. I had to call 3 times both times.

The staff are not that friendly at all from the valet who was ordering us to immediately remove our car before we even drop our lugged to the hotel front desk staff that had us wait until 7 PM to check in. Who pays for a hotel to be allows to check in at 7 pm and miss a whole day of their vacation ? Add to that the hotel did not apologize for checking is very late and making us wait and the hotel was not that busy. There might have been about a 100 gusts out of the 700 rooms they have. Why not checks us in at a readable time . Their official check in time is 4 PM. That is crazy.

Absolutely beautiful resort, we had a king ocean view, Las Brisas. The room was beautiful, the bathroom was completely upgraded and spotless, and the closet for clothes/suitcases in the bathroom was huge. The balcony was large and spacious, view was 100% unobstructed and spectacular. The lobby was beautiful, the swimming pools were beautiful, huge, and appeared to be completely new and upgraded. The water park was an absolute blast for both myself and my husband. The private Palamino island beach was beautiful. Overall it was beautiful and exceeded expectations.

A mix up on our reservation had us waiting 20 minutes at the entrance gate before we were allowed onto the grounds. So our start was disappointing.
Overall the property was clean and enjoyable. I’d go back but would stay away from the Surf & Turf at the Ballyhoo Restaurant. It was overpriced and the NY Strip was tough. The Brisas Restaurant was better.

Amazing stay! Our kids loved the water park!! Facilities were extremely clean and everything looked really modern and well kept. Amazing views from the room balcony, the trip to Palomino Island is always a good experience. So many dining options and really great food. Loved every minute at the resort. Looking forward to come back soon!!

El Conquistador Resort is by far the BEST place to stay while visiting the beautiful island of Puerto Rico!! The ownership has clearly made a big investment in the property to ensure that the guests have the best resort experience possible. The staff are amazing and clearly care about their careers, this is apparent in the way the treat their guests. When vacationing in Puerto Rico There is no better place to stay!!

I miss it! The views are absolutely gorgeous. The water park was a blast the ferry ride to the beach was nice and the beach was beautiful. The food was expensive and only okay.

The property was beautiful. It is a bit secluded but we found a cute neighborhood with dining options, a park and bioluminescent tours. The room itself was in Building 1 and our room was very basic but clean. Upkeep and maintenance seemed patchy and low effort. But the views were unbeatable.

Choice at restaurants very limited expensive and except for Bono poor quality. Staff is mostly unhelpful. And a small convention came in which severely limited our options to take ferry to beach
Rooms are ver dated and lots of dirty furniture.
Would never come back. If we could get money back for remaining nights we would leave.

This resort is disgusting. When we arrived to room 3103 the first thing we saw was a roach crawling on the bed. We called the front desk and they changed our room to 3544. We did a thorough check and then decided to stay. The hotel is old and moldy. The shower floor was full of grime and mold. I was so disappointed and disgusted but it would take too long for a refund to another resort, therefore we had to stay. When I got home I realized these bites alll over my legs. They were bed bug bites I had to disinfect and buy additional cleaning supplies. I was sooo disgusted. I would give this resort -0 stars. Staff is unfriendly and unhelpful.

This resort is okay, but has potential to be so much better. My family stayed here 5 nights with two little kids.
The good: The property and grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The views are breathtaking. The beach on the private island is the best part of this resort and they put a majority of their effort into this. The resort was not busy or over-crowded which was nice.
The not so good: This place is lacking a lot of detail and seems very low budget. The service, is not great, most of the staff act annoyed by guests and are not helpful. The food and drinks have a lot of room for improvement. The vibe, there is no energy about this place. The rooms are dated and are in need of some work.
Overall we enjoyed the beach and our 6 year old loved the water park. However many things were lacking and it could have been so much better. We likely will not stay here again or recommend to anyone.

It was such an awesome experience! First time visiting El conquistador in almost 25 years and it brought so many memories. Palomino was incredible, the staff was welcoming, the amenities were awesome and the view was out of this world. As a local from Aguadilla living now in the states, this is the best destination in the island. My wife and I will recommend el Conquistador to anyone that would like to be transported to a different world! Thank you

We loved all the pools, hot tubs, restaurants, bars and the private island with a restaurant and beach.
We didn't like the cold temperatures in the indoor common areas and restaurants. We complained and the staff said there was nothing they could do. We knew it wasn't just us when the staff members were wearing sweatshirts. It's such a waste of energy.
