It is one of the better hotels in the city, however it can be quite expensive. As a Taj property it does offer the excellent hospitality that you get at any Taj.
However as a hotel, it is a little underwhelming. Compared to other Taj hotels the decor is almost non existent in rooms so when you immediately walk into the room it does feel a little cheap. However the bed is comfortable and there is a pillow menu for you to get exactly what you need for a good nights sleep.

Right from the girl at reception who welcomed us gave us room keys( # 261) to Shekhar( Restaurant Manager- Sahib café), lady Chef at Roti section, the waitress, Housekeeping staff, Tall Security guard with Moustache and his colleagues, everyone were so welcoming, Helpful and sweet-natured that it became our home away from home.
I am an Ex-Oberoi, Ex-Hyatt and have always heard so much about Taj but never got chance to experience it. But, yesterday I realized that whatever I heard was so true.....
Please convey my sincere thanks to everyone whom I met with and interacted.

Stayed whilst Covid restrictions were in place. Hotel took good precautions. Food could be better. Rooms are not modern. Even suite was quite small. Room cleaning could be better. Water for shower was not hot. Whilst they advertise large garden it is locked and you need to ask for it to be opened each time. It is also not adequately maintained, however this could be now during Covid period. I would not rate the stay as value for money.

Property is amazing, Taj are known for luxury hotel. This was was the best property in Lucknow.
Special mention to the incredible team Akash Verma, Amiksha and Viksit. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I had been planning my parents anniversary surprise trip and Akash took the great care with attention to detail on everything and also went above and beyond to make sure my parent have the best time! In Whole, The staff, Hotel and Restaurants were all exceptional.

Beautiful property. We loved the look of the room as it was a modern version of a palace room. We got the garden view which was lovely and serene. We took a brief walk of the garden and pool area and it was breathtaking! Had dinner at Oudhyana. The restaurant had live music with classical instruments. We tried the Lucknow food and it was amazing! The staff were extremely nice and friendly. Had the buffet breakfast at Sahib Cafe. Amazing food w/ great selection! I highly recommend this hotel!

No internet for 2 days which was a big issue. The bathroom was run down and dirty. The floor of the room was wooden and stained. Very small carpets that shift as you walk on them. Super slippery bathroom floor so you have to be careful not to slip in the room and bathroom. Not up to the Taj standard expected.

The Taj hotel s really doesn't need any praise as they are a class apart from the modern, upcoming five stars. Still, I want to mention some of the staff who should be encouraged to continue the good work that they are doing. Housekeeping was excellent! I remember Ashis who always guessed the need of the guest in advance. Restaurant decor could be better but the staff are keepers! Action of hat to Tanzim, Akhtar, Shubham and Mr Ashoke Saroje. The chefs are talented and dedicated. Chef Thapa went out of his way to make sure that our requests are met. Thank you guys! We'll be back!

The hotel is stunning with lovely grounds and the room was extremely comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The breakfast although reasonably extensive had an Indian feel - although there was cereal, pastries and eggs on offer.

Stayed here whilst I was on my way back from Kanpur during May of this year, when the temperature in Lucknow was around 46 Celsius. The hotel is in a fairly new area (Gomti Nagar), and is abit away from the hustle and traffic in Lucknow. The staff were really helpful in organizing taxis for me to go to the city center to visit the attractions. The food here is not bad, there's the restaurant next to the lobby where there's buffet during the day and they can also prepare to your order. There is also a bar and lounge on one end of the lobby called Saqi, which plays good music in the night and their kitchen is open until 11pm if I can recall correctly. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Lucknow.

Our first trip to India and our stay at the Vivanta by Taj was a Great experience!!! Not only is the property beautiful and deserving of the 5 star rating but the staff is top notch. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. Food Buffet at the international restaurant was very good and overall an excellent value for the money. I would recommend this hotel very highly if you are travelling to the area,
