Very nice homey feel. No TV’s in rooms. Surprised but it was actually nice. Wine served in the afternoon and a good breakfast the next morning.

Quaint and cozy, Ballard Inn was a pleasant stay. Located near many vineyards, and offering discounted tastings to many of them, it was the perfect place to map out your vineyard stops. Yummy breakfast to start your day and even tastings in the early evenings. A must when you're in the Santa Ynez Valley.

The management treated us with remarkable courtesy and understanding. Would highly recommend this lovely facility!

Beautiful boutique hotel that is situated nicely between Los Olivos and Solvang. We only spent one night, but we would have gladly stayed longer. Definitely will want to come back to visit again!

Amazing stay at the Ballard Inn. We love everything, the wonderful service, luxury additions such as turn down service as well as wine and snacks, the comfort of the beds, it is very quiet, the location is perfect for us to do wine tasting and enjoy good restaurants close by. Highly recommended!

The staff was sooo nice. It was our anniversary and they write us a card. This was a wonderful place if you want something different than the full hotel experience. So nice for a romantic getaway. Loved that they had free coffee and tea and hot chocolate all day! Cookies at night and cheese and wine hr from 4-5z The breakfast was absolutely amazing!!! I can’t believe it is included! You will not be dissapointed. They have a game room. They are 6-8 min from town but that was so nice because it was quiet and relaxing. There is even a cafe place accross the street if you wanted something extra. Just loved it!

We enjoyed the beautifully appointed inn and the welcoming staff. It was lovely to sit on the outside porch drinking local wine. Breakfasts were delicious and varied.

It is a wonderful place to stay but there is no Restaurant anymore.

The hotel is very nice and clean. The beds are very comfortable in the lobby area where they serve afternoon wine and cheese. It’s very lovely and they have a wonderful breakfast every morning 24 hours, coffee, and tea. they bake their pastry every day, and they leave very good cookies in your room every afternoon We had a great relaxing time

It's a beautiful old-time inn with some modern amenities and very comfortable beddings. No TVs anywhere in the building added to the peaceful vibe. The complimentary breakfast was a limited menu but nicely done and huge portions. Overall, a terrific location.

Wonderful people, amazing food, comfortable and fun room

A perfect get-away with other couples. The common areas were a perfect way to visit and relax together!

First the good - location and charm. The bad: 1st - You can imagine our surprise to look out our window in the early AM and see a large crane parked in the rear parking lot blocking all cars (see https://www.bigredcrane.net/ for a picture). We could look the crane operator in the eye from our 2nd story location. The noise from the crane and whatever was being done rooftop was much louder than Santa + reindeer. When we asked about this at the front desk, the staff person half-heartedly apologized and said that they came much earlier than expected. Expected!!?? Really? $500/night all in for this? No offer of compensation/reduction in rate. And NO disclosure on Hotels.com or website. 2nd - find breakfast elsewhere. The 1st morning consisted of a small bowl of fruit to be shared & a choice of scrambled egg mix with Kraft shredded cheese spread across the top, a yogurt parfait or pancakes. No choice of toast, pastries, side meat, potatoes, orange juice - nada. Second morning 3 similar choices - no frills included. 3rd - bed was overly soft/worn out. Bathroom needs re-modeling. 4th - front desk staff had their noises in their phones and little interest in the guests. When I replied to an auto inquiry text as to how our stay was going, I received an auto response identical to the initial inquiry. Zero follow up. Even on check out - no apology for the noise re #1 above. In short - try a chain hotel instead, even the local casino hotel.

Our group really enjoyed all the different public rooms. They also offered some nice local wines at their daily social hour. Perfect base for a weekend of wine tasting. Will def be back when restaurant is once again open.

Overpriced for what you get. Construction was going on which nobody told us about and the restaurant was not open. Rooms were simple but prices were high!

Attentive staff, contemporary accommodation. Relaxing, quiet and a good departure point for wine tastings. Lots of possibilities for walking in the area.

It's a feeling of past times, no TV in the rooms, antique furnishings, comfortable bed, luxurious linens. Seems the property is not complete in renovations but screens on windows to keep bugs out and locking exterior doors would be a plus. It's was a quaint stay, nice service but only during day time, you feel very left alone at nights. It really felt like you were visiting at someone's home. For the area, I think it was a good stay and continental breakfast tray was served in the room which was nice touch. Lots of lounge area on the first floor with community TV, free parking. I would stay here again.

I went there with my husband for my birthday. The staff made my birthday super special. We sat outside and they brought us warm blankets , pastries, coffee, mimosas. The dinner at the restaurant was very unique. The restaurant staff worked as a team and gave us a fantastic experience. The happy hour every day was also fantastic great appetizers and 4-5 wine choices.

We loved staying out this hotel! The service was amazing. The continental breakfast was delicious. So many nice little touches at the quaint, well located hotel.

Relaxing & quietness

Very nice restored building, restaurant on property is VERY good, even the included 'continental' breakfast was excellent. Only downside was some guests didn't observe the quiet time rules and due to the architecture the noise was loud until past 2am., no staff around to deal with it
