This was a wonderful stay! Make sure you follow the walking directions you are sent when booking to avoid climbing unnecessary amounts. Such kind owners and there was a nice breakfast included (even had gluten free bread at breakfast for celiacs). Highly recommend!

Very happy with all aspects of location, hospitality and comfort. Near all cafes and shops, marina and train. Welcoming and happy to assist with inquiries. The room itself was wonderful. Nice size bathroom and shower was amazing (little things that make a difference) room is spacious and a cute patio. Enjoyed my stay and definitely recommend.

Enrico and his wife were very inviting and gave us excellent suggestions for dinner and site seeing. The room was fantastic and the A/C was very appreciative after walking around Cinque Terre’s 4 other towns. I would definitely recommend staying at Hotel de Sole, we did for 3 nights. Breakfast is simple Italian, coffee or cappuccino, fruits, breads, pastries, cheese, ham, tomatoes, and of course nuttella and jams. Enrico is so helpful with suggestions for the area and any questions guests might have. He and his staff are also super attentive and thoughtful - when they noticed me bringing my own lactose-free milk down to breakfast they brought over some lactose-free yoghurt and milk options which I don’t usually expect at accommodation. Enrico also loaned us a travel adapter plug when we needed one, and he is very quick to respond to any questions via email/message that you might have before or after your stay. The breakfast provided is plentiful and tasty. The hotel is situated just a minute or two away from the buzzing Riomaggiore shops and dining area but this means it is nice and quiet in the room and outside on the room patio. There is a short steep hill to walk up, and steps up to the room which must be navigated with luggage. Enrico provides options before arrival for getting your luggage from the train station to the hotel to minimise the physical effort. Our room and bed was a good size and the air conditioning worked well. As constant tea drinkers the only other thing we could’ve wished for was a kettle for making tea in the room in the evenings, but overall this was a great place to stay.

I needed to checkout a day early due to a rail road strike over all of Italy. The only way to guarantee I was going to get to Venice was to leave a day early. Hotel Del Sole in Riomaggiore wouldn’t cut me any slack and refused to refund 1 nights stay.

Amazing time. Enrico went out of his way to give us tips on how to get there from the train station without having to pull the heavy suitcase, gave us tips on what to do and how to get places by bus, and also was willing to give us breakfast earlier than usual as we had to leave early. Overall a great time, we will certainly be back should we visit Riomaggiore again.

This place was great! Big spacious ans comfortable rooms. Very close to the water front. The owners are so sweet and helpful with great suggestions on where to eat and go. They will also give you directions on the easiest way to get there as google will try to take you up a ton of stairs.

The owner really treats the hotel like it's home, and you're guest. He goes out of his way to be helpful on ur day trips, general info of the area, and anything else you might need during your stay. It's a small business, and it sure feels like it. It has the warmth and invitation of a home away from home. Beautiful breakfast spread and very roomy clean rooms. Gorgeous patios you can watch the sunset from. I would go back to this place in a heart beat! We traveled for 3 weeks in Europe, and this was by far the best place we stayed at. Just great!

The owner emailed me ahead of time to give me accurate directions since Google Maps can lead you astray, which I thought was very kind. It is at the very top of the hill in this town, so get ready to walk (it’s not that bad). The town is very small, so you’ll be in the heart of it within 5 minutes. The hotel room is very bare bones, which if you find you’ll be out on the beach or visiting other towns, is all you really need. The towels could use some upgrading since they’re thin. The walls are also very thin, so be prepared to hear ~everything~ your neighbors may be up to at all times of the night and day. The Internet is also pretty spotty. The owner told me just to let him know when its out so he could fix it, but I just found the WiFi to be unreliable. The terraces have beautiful views of the sunset which is gorgeous. The breakfast is also a great spread to start your day off!

Excellent host and room.

Great location if you are planning on staying in Riomaggiore. For an additional charge you can park your car, which is worth it. Continental breakfast is included. The hotel is worn but clean and comfortable. We never spent much time in our room other than sleeping. It’s basic.

Up the road from the center of town and nestled into the hillside, this cute hotel was a quiet and convenient location. The patio was a nice added bonus for us to enjoy at the end of the day. Breakfast was good, coffee was great. The owners were helpful with telling us how to get around and shared some great hike options for us to try.

We loved our stay Hotel Del Sole. Enrico was an excellent host! He was very kind and friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating. We would highly recommend anyone to stay here to enjoy the Cinque Terre region and the fun town of Riomaggiore.

Wonderful stay!! Book this now! The price was affordable and the room is large (older but super clean) with a large bathroom and shower. Enrico was an amazing host and helped us with everything. Breakfast was perfect. Can’t say enough great things about this place. You will have to walk up a short hill to get there which isn’t a big deal if you’re able.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel del Sole! We didn't know what to expect because we booked pretty last-minute, and it seemed too good to be true that the hotel still had spots. But it was everything and more that was promised. Our room was gorgeous, the views were wonderful, the service was great, etc. We walked/used a train to get around Cinque Terre, and we enjoyed hanging out by Riomaggiore's little harbor, eating at the local restaurants and swimming in the sea at the nearby beach. We'd love to stay here again.

The property is very well located and easy to get to if you use the lift at the tunnel near the train. The manager is very helpful and friendly. Be prepared to walk up steps. Well, it is in Cinque Terre. Rooms a quant some updating would make it perfect.

Enrico is an amazing host! He gave us so many useful tips! Also helped to carry our luggages up the stairs. It is a short walk from the station to the hotel, if you take the correct route: through the tunnel, on the left when you get out from the station.
