Tizeze Hotel is conveniently close to the Addis Ababa Airport. The hotel is modest and well-priced and the staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. Honestly, I received the best consideration and service from Bobby (guide/translator/host/new friend) and Kefyalew (driver/escort) than from any other location I traveled to. They saved my trip. During most of my time in Ethiopia (7 days), I was sick. I spent my first and last days in Addis Ababba. On the first day, I asked the front desk for a taxi to take me to a market in the late afternoon. They responded by sending for Bobby and arranging for him to take me around town and help me communicate in the shops. Upon my return to Addis Ababa, Bobby again joined me on a customized tour of the city. Kefyalew drove both days. He was very invested in sharing Ethiopian culture and experiences with me. He contributed to the itinerary and the timing. I highly recommend this dynamic duo to any travelers who want to guarantee they enjoy their time in Addis Ababa.

No airport shuttle, dirty bed, unwashed with hairs in bed. Water puddle in bathroom, tv not working.

The Tizeze picked us up from the airport and the driver waited the extra time while we struggled through immigration and baggage claim. Teh hotel was close and I was so thanksful it had an elevator. Beds were comfortable and staff was great. Highly recommend.

Comfortable hotel and very friendly staff. Hotel has an excellent gym comparable to many hotels that charge double the room rate.

Staff at the hotel were VERY friendly and helpful. However, I spent a great deal of time explaining that I had actually paid already via Hotels.com (and that this was not Expedia!). Eventually, we had that sorted. There was a plug in heater in the room that was appreciated. A hairdryer was available from reception. I really appreciated the shuttle to/from the airport (but make sure that you advise that your times of arrival/departure are "international time", as Ethiopia has their own localised view on time reference (international time + 6). Great selection of local beers in hotel bar and the barman was very helpful in guiding choice!

Clean, friendly, absolutely excellent staff. Even the Internet connection was superb. Good airport shuttle. Wonderful place for a stay in Addis!

I made an overnight stay on transit. The hotel is very near the airport tucked in a residential area. The road off the highway is not the best but short. Very good experience I had.

Ended up in 3 rooms: first room was dirty, so got changed. In the second room, the flush did not work - hence stayed one night in the 3rd room, where the flush actually did not work either. Seems very bad value for money.

Arrived at the hotel late and really appreciated that the restaurant was still open

I couldnt have been happier at this hotel. The staff was incredible, the food was really good, it is a great price, and everything was really clean and comfortable. I was sad to leave. It is a bit of a walk to get downtown, which I didnt love at first, but quickly realized that it is a strong benefit of this hotel to be away fro, the noise, crowds and pollution. Fantastic stay.

For my purposes it was fine for the price. Checked in and out quickly so I could get some sleep between flights. Dogs barking outside did not help though.

The staff at Tizeze are very sweet and attentive. The rooms are spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. The restaurant was tasty with good ethiopian fare and delicious vegetarian pizza and juices. Breakfast is super as well. I enjoyed the view of the neighborhood and setting sun from my 4th floor room. It took 12 minutes for me to get to conference at Hilton, even in peak rush hour so there is no reason to pay more than double to stay at Hilton hotel unless you really want to feel you are not in Ethiopia. It is no more than 5 minutes from airport which is great when you are tired, or when you want to be in hotel comfort as long as possible before departure. They also do day rates that are very reasonable - I had a night flight to catch and was able to come to a good agreement for day use of the room which was well worthwhile.

Even though my flight was delayed, the gentleman conducting the transfer to the hotel was waiting for me when I walked out of customs. He was very helpful with baggage, and gave me some details about the hotel. The drive from the airport is about 7 minutes, and it is located in a residential area. The hotel itself is very nice, and has security. The staff are incredible. In all my years of traveling, I will remember these people as genuinely interested in how you are, how your stay was, how your food was etc. They are putting forth a lot of effort into ensuring your stay is as great as it can be. The restaurant is white linen, clean, has a bit of a variety of North American food, and Ethiopian food. Service was quick, prices were great, food was excellent. The breakfast buffet was a bit lacking, but I was there right at 0600 when they started, so not everything was out yet. There is a separate bar/coffee area in the lobby which is quite nice. The room itself was very clean, but I found it a bit warm, and no air conditioning. Not sure if that was just the room I was in. Shower was great, lots of hot water, great water pressure. Towels were clean. Currency can be exchanged at the front desk, but not a lot. The rate is very resonable. Overall great experience.

Tizeze is a beautiful, new, clean and modern hotel. I stayed there alone with a toddler for two weeks last month and chose the hotel specifically because of its good reviews. That trip was my fourth trip to Ethiopia in two years--I have quite a lot of experience with Ethiopian hotels. The service at Tizeze was fantastic--I could not have pulled the trip off without the Tizeze staff. Edan, the hotel manager, was incredibly helpful, kind, friendly and resourceful. Edan also protected me from various drivers, vendors and baggage handlers who tried to take advantage of me. The only annoying things I experienced at Tizeze were the same annoying things I have experienced at all Ethiopian hotels. They insist on payment up front for various things. Business support is slow (I tried for two weeks to get three documents printed). And the internet goes down periodically (as it does everywhere in Ethiopia). But the hotel staff was on top of it and I was not without internet or cell reception for longer than a few hours at any time. The hotel has a great hot buffet breakfast every morning which is included with the room. And as an added bonus there is a salon in the basement for hair and nails. I took three young African girls I have friended to the salon and they were transformed into beautiful women. It cost about $3.75 each for three hours of washing, drying, staightening, curling and setting.

Very nice hotel at a reasonable rate situated close to the airport. Good breakfast included in the room rate. Hotel is clean.
