It's a beautiful place, and well maintained. But I didn't see anything in the room and it wasn't very obvious anywhere else why it might have been ecological. I didn't see recycling in the room or in the breakfast area.
And there is absolutely no soundproofing between rooms. On the second floor we could hear conversations that were taking place in the indoor swimming pool, with our doors and windows closed as well as the TV on either side of us. As well as people in the hallway. It seems they built the walls of the cheapest materials available despite living in one of the coldest climates in the country. Is that ecological? There are certainly wasn't very much buffering between the walls of the rooms and the hallway. I'm hoping the walls to the outside were better insulated

We have stayed here multiple times and it has always been one of the best places in town. Everything was great on our last trip, however, the were a couple parts of the back sidewalk that had really thick ice. Unfortuntlately, somehow i slipped on the second patch and hit the ground hard. Keep in mind the is a very cold town, but there was not any weather during our stay and i think somone could have been more proactive to keep the sidewalks safe.

I've been staying at this hotel 3 - 5 nights/year for a few years. It's still a nice enough hotel in good shape. It's convenient to US 50 and within walking distance of downtown. The university is next door. Ask for a 3rd floor room or you'll be listening to the folks above you stomp around and flush the toilet. The breakfast is good, not great. It is pricey for a basic chain hotel. I find myself wishing for a nicer hotel at that price, but Gunnison is pretty limited in terms of nicer lodging opportunities.

Great stay at the Holiday Inn Gunnison. Close to Western University campus and McDonalds/Arbys. Give the Museum across the highway a look, so much to see and do. Hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet.

I was in room 240. It smelled like food when I checked in. I open the window, turned on the bathroom fan and turned on the wall unit cooler to air it out
At 5AM I woke to the room filled with the smell of cooking sausage and eggs. It was disgusting.

Hotel controls the volume on the TV. We couldn't hear it. They also control the thermostat. Having said that this property is as expected.

The hotel is updated and nice looking. We hit a few issues. One is that the walls are paper thin. You can hear your neighbors easily. The coffee maker was really messed up and sprayed coffee grounds all over the counter. The shampoo dispenser was either broken or empty. Also the hallways are very dim. They put in funny LED lights and it makes the halls look like you are walking into a dungeon.

Love this hotel! Super clean and in great shape. The king sized bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in in a while and the pillows were perfect. The Dove toiletries were a nice addition.

Tv volume was really low. Called to front desk and they said that’s the way it is. For $250.00 a night the tv should work perfectly.

Our family of 5 stayed here over a completely booked holiday weekend and we were beyond happy with the service received! The rooms are spacious and updated with comfortable bedding. The front desk manager, Kayla, was especially helpful and friendly! Will definitely be staying here again!

The overall stay was good, but the petulance and hostility of the girls who checked us in, was disturbing.
I had two other interactions with front desk personnel other than the check-in girls, and those folks were kind, enchanting, and it felt like they were happy to be there.
This is a nice facility and it's a shame that those two individuals, who are the face of the hotel upon check-in, can negatively affect a potentially awesome stay.

Wish we would have known that the pool was not inservice before we had checked in. Our kids were super disappointed to find out that we could not swim.

Everything was super clean. Good breakfast bar & well maintained. Nice pool, didnt swim though as it needed to be cleaned. Overall nice stay.
