A perfect experience

Horrible hotel! Our car broke down owner was told a neighbor was coming for my family members in about an hour. I stayed the night as the shop could not have it ready until tomorrow (high five Meineke 469 Rothesay Ave Saint John, NB that review to follow) had our 3 dogs again staying for an hour. Site advertising pets, he was told we had the dogs when his giant ridge back dog came out in the office. It was funny at the time he said I'm sitting for my son it's his dog. I said oh boy at least you can hand her back we are stranded with our pups from a beach trip. Asked the front desk where we could grab dinner and some toiletries. He advised Sobeys was a 5 min walk. No air conditioner, Asked for a fan. Said no rush I'm setting out to walk to grab some dinner ill get it on the way back. Owner tried to enter our room After We said we would go for dinner. Luckily we had a family member in the room as we were walking. The owner called my phone several times, my hands were full as I was walking with a child and food. The place he said to go was on a busy street with no sidewalks. When approached I was told we cannot have guests, when I said I explained you our situation. Why is there a sign in the room saying guests out by 11? He said he can enter the room anytime, it's not an apartment. Burn marks in the comforter Dead bolts don't work. Advertised ocean view definitely not. I was not expecting the ritz But I was certainly expecting someone to listen when we shared our situation. I was also not expecting entering the room without asking. I wish I could share the audio I had recorded on here. The front desk worker kept trying to say oh I didn't understand. Well you understood when you were taking my money. I have since called booking.com to make a complaint, I will be sending them the recording. DO NOT STAY HERE

Nice location/ view and could take my dog.

Had basic double room. The door lock was not very secure. It was very small room the bed filled the room not enough space around the bed to lay and open up suitcase. The decor was very dated although clean. None of the pictures for hotel show the room style / decor in our room. Although non smoking it did smell of cigarette smoke

management gave me a special price and they have bedrooms with kitchenette. Overall good motel for people with low income or modest means. Paranomic view of the ocean and you can see ferries; great view to wakeup too and the table faces the ocean.

Place was clean and bed comfortable-- that ends it

Had to be a mountain goat to walk a dog. Insisted I needed a larger room than the one I had booked for which there was no need. Threatened to call police if I took smaller room and brought a dog in. Canada is not a police state but everything was met with a call to police. Will not ever recommend this establishment. Been traveling with my dogs for over 30 years and never so rudely treated. If you say pet friendly than make sure the site states which rooms are available and if there is a pet fee. Also no air conditioner, no phone, no smoke detector in room

This is the absolute worst place I've ever seen, filthy rooms, disgusting breakfast food

The owner who also works as a receptionist is very kind and knowledgable. Super approved stay.
