Totally unacceptable living conditions, and unsafe for my kids. We were given a second story unit with windows that didn’t latch or close tightly that my kids could just psh out of. There were no screens on the windows and one was cracked in half (and quite sharp, my eight-year-old found before we did). The designated fire escape stairs were closed with no explanation. The unit did not match any of the photos on booking.com and wasn’t even close to the quality of the presented accommodations (maybe their other units are nicer?). On top of all of this, we were met with hostility regarding our concerns and told to take it up with booking.com who only gave a partial discount (we didn’t stay any nights). Unbelievable from both the hotel and booking.com.

lots of problems with wifi - had to ask 3 times to get it resolved. also clerk who checked us in at night kind of Grumpy.

I liked the proximity to the butterfly grove and the beach (a short walk), the hot tub, and the general quiet vibe. It was nice for a solo traveler or would have been good for a couple as well.

The room wasn't ready at check-in so I had to wait another 20 minutes for them to finish cleaning. Overall the property is a bit older and not super modern.

Quite comfortable family suite in an updated 1915 house. The exterior is vintage and attractive, and the interior keeps the feeling but with modern conveniences. Great location, quiet, residential, and adjacent to the monarch butterfly preserve, yet only a short drive to downtown, beaches on both sides of Pacific Grove, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Cannery Row. Chris at reception was very nice and helpful. Lots of electrical sockets in the rooms, electronic room keys, heat works well, nice decor, comfortable beds and furniture, good wifi. The large bedroom was very spacious, with a mirrored closet, iron and folding board, plenty of lamps and overhead lighting, gas fireplace (not used during monarch season because of gas effluent), luggage rack, big dresser, two nightstands, digital clock, armchair, table and four chairs, and two windows facing east. All windows in the bedrooms have both sheers and drapes, and there is a blind on the bathroom window. The bathroom is modern. Everything was sparkling clean. Parking was close by the stairway to the second floor. Exterior and interior lighting at night kept us safe from falls. A lot to like!

Paved parking would be nice, especially when it rains. The old windows need insulation. The small bedroom in the family suite was really small and had neither closet nor armoire, only a few drawers for storage. This wasn’t made clear in the description. Also, a little more in the way of kitchen facilities would be very helpful. The microwave, coffee maker, and fridge are good; I would have liked some compostable cutlery, paper plates and bowls, and napkins to facilitate eating breakfast at the inn rather than going out.

There was no breakfast but the coffee was great and the people were wonderful.

The Jacuzzi didn't work, but everything else was great.

No breakfast. If you wanted coffee, the office didn’t open until 8:00.

The room’s floor made my white socks very dirty. The fireplace didn’t work. The only source of heat was a plug in heater stored in the closet. The ceiling fan was caked with dirt. The tub/ shot was very small, more like what you might find in a tiny house.
