We recently stayed here with 3 families, with kids ranging from 1-9 years old. Overall we'd recommend it for large groups. Pros: -The place was large and had plenty of places to sleep. -Large kitchen and and large dining room table that was able to seat everyone -Contrary to some other reviews we saw, we felt the kitchen was well equipped -Large property with lots of toys and games provided to play with outside -Nice pool -Great hot tub -Good fire pit Cons -There really is no place inside to gather with a large group. There are 2 living rooms, divided by a wall. Our group of 13 was unable to gather in a single room. Really, it was hard to find a place for just the 6 adults to gather that wasn't the kitchen or outside. Given the size of the house, it would be nice to have a room for everyone to gather comfortably. -So many bees/wasps/hornets nests. We saw some bees on the property early in our stay and didn't really think anything of it, being a farm and all, bugs are to be expected, and so this didn't bother us. At one point the kids went to play on the swing set and one adult got stung and one of the kids was stung three times. Again, we didn't think much of it at the time, but on our final day we noticed it wasn't just "around the property" but nests were everywhere, and I mean everywhere. They were on the eave on the house, on the hot tub, in an air vent, and yes, we went back to the swing set and noticed a big nest on that as well, so that event wasn't a fluke, and was instead the result of a neglected playground. Major remediation is needed for this, but if it is taken care of, then everything will be great..

We came from all over the US for our grandaughter's high school graduation. We ranged from 8 years old to 70 years old. This property was so much better than we ever imagined. Plenty of space to spread out yet close enough for those fun family moments. Absolutely loved it !

We had a great time. House is huge, beautiful, clean and comfortable. We spent the majority of our weekend in the hot tub. There is not much to do in the area but the house made up for it. We cooked our own meals and enjoyed house, grounds and company.

Krissy was a responsive and accommodating host to a luxurious location that was absolutely stunning. All instructions were clear and the house had nothing we lacked. Looking forward to renting again in the summer.

Very beautiful, very comfortable place to stay with a large group. We stayed four nights, five days with our Mother and some of our siblings with their families. This home was very large and accommodated all of our needs. We are skiers, so we made the short trip to Sunday River one day and spent two different days at Mt Abrams. We definitely took advantage of the huge hot tub at the end of a long cold day of skiing. We are already talking about making this an annual trip. And maybe sneak in a summer stay some year.

My friends and I had an amazing weekend.

Due to COVID-19, our international vacay plans changed. Our group came from the NYC area & therefore couldn't travel too far without having to quarantine upon our return. With limited options available during the summer months, ME was the most convenient location; 5-6 hours away. We wanted a private pool & a property large enough to accommodate a group of 5 women. We got exactly that. We pre-ordered groceries at the local Hannaford & Walmart; easy, breezy. We brought our own bottles for popping. Once we checked in to the home, there was really no reason to leave. We cooked, grilled, baked, ate, swam & soaked just as we had planned to. The hot tub was wonderful at night. Star gazing was my absolute fav! The most memorable for me. The property offers peace, tranquility & serenity. The few issues we had weren’t life-altering. 1. Flies…Upon arrival we were greeted with flies inside the home. They practically stayed with us our entire visit. They were quite a nuisance. 2. No key…We were unable to locate the garage door opener or the key. We texted the host & she informed us that the group before us misplaced it which is why the garage door was open & the door unlocked. Perhaps that contributed to the flies inside. 3. Pool…Could have used a power wash on the area surrounding the pool. In a small area, there appeared to be melted hard candy as well as animal feces which attracted more flies, ants & other bugs. 4. Kitchen supplies…Host provided a limited garbage bags (3) & paper towel rolls (1); which is something that would’ve been nice to know prior to arrival so that we could have brought extra. We tried to make it work using the brown paper bags from the groceries as well as the dish towels. Also, no ice maker/ice. Luckily we brought our own. 5. Décor…No comfy place to sit/lounge indoors or out. The furnishings are outdated & uncomfy. In addition to those items, we didn’t really get a welcoming feel from our host; with whom we had minimal contact with via text messages. Most times we found her tone to be a bit condescending. Could this have been because we’re New Yorkers; could this have been because of our race; we cannot say for sure. Everyone's experience is their own. Again, none of this is life-altering. It’s not meant to deter future guests. Just wanted to express our thoughts. We enjoyed our time in ME. It was a much-needed reprieve.

Whitney Farm Estate is just amazing. Old world charm and architecture with all of the modern amenities. Pool, hottub, and PLENTY of games to play in the huge yard. We never ran out of activities, despite the quarantine! The house was spotless and the little things (TP, PT, Febreeze in bathrooms, linens, pots/pans) made this Quaran-cation amazing! Owners were very quick to respond to emails.

This property is beautiful and it was perfect for a weekend away with a group of friends. The house is huge, which allowed us to have our own space, but also come together in the large kitchen and gorgeous backyard. We hope to come back next summer.

The house itself, was more than we could have asked for. Although we only 2 Families, It would have been great for 3 families. The pool and hot tub were great, other than that not much else to do. Very quiet neighborhood. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway then this is the place for you.

Words can not describe the overall experience one will have at this amazing getaway. From beginning to end and from top to bottom, my family was completely blown away by our visit and stay in Oxford, Maine at this property. Though there is plenty of nature to enjoy locally, you will find it hard to pull yourself away from this outstanding estate. I am counting down the days till my family and I can return. If this property is available for your vacation, look no further, you have found yourself a guaranteed great time!

A group of about 12 people stayed and there was more than enough space. Hot tub is huge and awesome for the on and off weather we were having for the weekend. Pool was fantastic, we brought all kind of games although they did have a few. Open yard for any activities you’d like to do. Basketball hoops were a plus for the guys in the house. Overall a beautiful house/area. I would love to go back and stay, definitely one for the books!

Fantastic place: beautiful and very large property that comfotably sleeps 20 or more, super clean, beautiful landscapes and scenery. Very nice pool and hot tub, the house is equip with everything you need to have a great time with your group, and tbe owner is very pleasent and attentive should you need her. I will highly recommend it this place.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was able accomodate 20 females who were looking at catching up. It had something for everyone!

Echoing the reviews posted - this is a spacious, beautifully furnished and equipped home that is much nicer than the photos seem to suggest. We enjoyed our stay, but wished the host would have been a bit more communicative about some minor damage that one of our guests may have caused.

These photos do not do this home justice. A stately residence fit for a large group of people, this home exceeded our expectations. The hot tub is GIGANTIC and the home is lovely. We would love to come back during the summer to take advantage of the vast property and the beautiful scenery! Thanks very much to Krissy for the prompt communication!

The estate is absolutely lovely, even in the winter! The home is large but very inviting! We used it as a place for out of town family to stay during a wedding. But honestly, we could have had the wedding right there. A wonderful vacation spot and I can only imagine the perfect wedding venue! Wonderful stay!
