Being on the end of the street and nestled right up to the river, this a great space for getting away from the hustle but just a short drive to all the amenities of town. Hoping to come back in the summer when we can leave the windows open and fall asleep to the sounds of the water.

This was our third Thanksgiving staying at Journey's end. We love the peace and tranquility this home has to offer. The view is spectacular of the Doe River. The home is beautifully decorated, well stocked, and very comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Well appointed clean place to stay near Johnson City and Bristol. Weather wasn't great for enjoying the deck/firepit this time but it is definitely nice.

Journey’s End is a real gem! We love staying with Rick and Diane! This in not a vacation house it is a vacation HOME! They provide everything you need! We cannot wait to get back!!!

Journeys End is a riverside retreat guaranteed to exceed anyone’s expectations. It is amazingly generous of these lovely owners to share this treasure. A charming and winsome location matched by perfect accommodations. Beautifully furnished, sophisticated and comfortable, it is appointed with every creature comfort for which one might wish. Our only regret was that we had to leave!

We could not have been happier with our stay at Journeys End. The accommodations here are wonderful with the Doe River at our back door making us feel like we were in heaven. Thank you for letting us stay in your cozy home over the weekend while we were attending the National Storytelling Festival. It was fantastic! It was exactly the retreat we had been looking for.
The property was very clean, warm, and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was better stocked than many other places we have stayed at before. The atmosphere here exudes comfort and peace. AND let's not forget the little gift you left was such a pleasant surprise.
Rick and Diane, you left no stone unturned in making us feel right at home. You even checked on us to ensure we weren't lost arriving and offered to be readily available if we needed anything.
We're not sure when we’ll return, but we're hoping it won’t be too long. We had a fantastic time at Journeys End and thank you for being so kind! We appreciate your family’s hospitality!

Diane & Richard have a beautiful, immaculately clean & well furnished home on the Doe River. This was our third time staying at Journey’s End and will not be the last! Sitting by the river with coffee in the morning, glass of wine early evening is blissful.
We brought our son - 42 years old - to fly fish for two days. He & his Dad had a great time & caught lots of fish on Wautauga & South Holsten. Trophy Waters Outfitters are outstanding guides! Thank you for Journeys End, not a destination, it’s a journey!

It's so quiet there, all you hear is the river and the crickets. We even saw an otter.

Too much good to say which is why I rated it 5 stars all the way. The stay for my husband and me was mainly for relaxation even though there is so much to do in the area! The location on the Doe river was perfect as was the deck and the house…without a doubt the nicest VRBO we have stayed in. Anything we could possibly need was there! Communication with Diane was also super. I would stay there again in a minute! Loved it!

If you are visiting the mountains of East Tennessee, you will not find a nicer location. Diane is so very organized and has wonderful taste. She will get back with you very quickly if you have any questions. The home is nicely decorated and the view is THE VERY BEST. It is close to Roan Mountain and the covered bridge. We will be back for sure.

The Journeys End property is amazing. It is situated right on the Doe River giving the home a spectacular feel and sound.
The house is super clean, neat and comfortable.
Elizabethton is a delightful town with good food available and great coffee at the Coffee Company.
The owners are wonderful!

Charming outside and inside! Had everything you need! The best time there was sitting on porch, hearing the river, watching the big & little kids fish in the river. We saw 2 kyackers go by and watch the hummingbirds feeding from the feeder on the porch! Peaceful!,

This is my 3rd time staying at Journey's End. I love it. It's like coming home every year. The Forsyths are the best to deal with. They are there to answer any question immediately. I can't even say enough about the deck. If they put a bed out there, Id sleep listening to the river all night. Enjoy,, but don't pick my week!!!

Great communication from the host. House was clean and ready for our arrival. Had all the necessities and then some. The kids especially appreciated their pillow treats!

Great stay! As a VRBO owner myself we decided not to visit our beach property for a break, always cleaning, fixing something etc.
This is the most relaxing place, well taken care of and feels like home. River says it all, nice not to to think at all and just listen to the river. I recorded it so will have it when a relaxing moment is needed.☺
Southern Restaurant downtown Elizabethton was very good and Cheddar's in Johnson City.
Rental had everything you need and more to cook. We chose to cook in more and enjoy the river.
Great job! Hope to be back next year.
Thanks again for allowing us to stay. Tony, Vicky, Peggy and Larry

This vacation property was simply amazing! As a part of our vacation we came to East Tennessee to visit family and friends since moving to North Dakota in 2021. Everything was perfect, from the coziness of the home inside to the beautiful views outside! This property offered everything we were looking for during this trip. We loved the fire pit, back deck, grill, comfy beds, clean bathrooms and wonderful amenities! The house is decorated beautifully and we felt at home the whole time! The owners have done an outstanding job on this property!

Everything about this location is fantastic; from the home itself, the loveliness of the owners, the views, to the local amenities... you can't ask for better if you love nature and the sound of a roaring river.

Really enjoyed the property. Large part of the backyard is along the river which is peaceful. House is VERY clean and had everything we needed. Master bed was comfy. Bathrooms were clean and large. Has the normal streaming capability for TV. Firepit by river was a highlight for my family. Plenty of wood. Loved it!

We have stayed at a lot of vrbo properties across the us on fly fishing trips. Journey’s End is hands down the best. Wondering what time it is? Look up, there’s a clock. Wondering about a bird, there are binoculars. There’s so much here that is above and beyond. So many views of the Doe River. Wonderful design, amazing stay. Comfortable, beautiful! We will be back again.

While the neighborhood was more dense than I expected, the house sits on the property in a way that you still feel secluded in the back. The Doe River in the bak was like sitting in a dream plus the other side was like a private mountainside. The house was very clean and welcoming with any amenities we needed. Highly recommended!!

Everything about Journey's End was even better than expected. Sitting on the deck enjoying the relaxing sound and the beauty of the river was just what we both needed. The comfy furniture in the house led to great conversations because it felt so homey. We enjoyed the fire pit and appreciated the dry wood you left for us.
The house was extremely clean and well organized. You thought of everything!
This is a place I'll came back to for sure!

They made sure we were comfortable allowed us to bring in football memorabilia plus set up a projector screen for us to enjoy our games over the weekend.

Me, my two adult sons and a friend stayed here for our annual golf trip. We always come to this area, but it was the first time in Elizabethton and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The house was immaculate and just steps from the Doe River! Diane’s communication was awesome and very detailed. We will be back!

Super nice owners- very easy to work with! They were kind enough to allow us in earlier than expected. We also had our adult grandkids - who are both attending local colleges-visiting with us for the weekend . The home itself was spotlessly clean & equipped with anything and everything you could need . The view from the back deck is spectacular! It’s just about 15’ from the Doe River. The grandkids enjoyed the fishing- everyone enjoyed the fire pit right on the riverbank- and we all enjoyed a family dinner easily prepared in the well equipped kitchen! And - unlike other places we have rented- the beds were extremely comfortable! Thank you Diane and Rick for a wonderful and much needed- getaway. We hope to return again in the near future! We traveled to Tennessee for a fall wedding and stayed for a few extra days to enjoy the area with our children (12 and 10). Journeys End was the perfect place for us. The house was clean and cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. There was plenty to do in the area although some of our favorite times were simply hanging out back along the river. What a beautiful property!
