The staff are lovely! the location is wonderful and the history of the building both fascinating and unmatched. Afternoon Tea was okay.
The hotel needs upgrading - the lighting and decor are very dated and parts of the hotel look as if they are set in a time warp. I love this hotel; I was a student in the city in 1970's when it was definitely at least 4* and full of visiting, curious Americans. I ADORE the courtyard area and the Bar is excellent and stocked with good wines! My bathroom and bedlinen were lovely and clean. Thank you!!
Room and hotel generally were needing to be upgraded.

Convenient in the city centre
The noise of the motor/pump all night stopping and starting every 3 minutes and keeping us awake. Apparently a known problem in the hotel with rooms numbered in the 40’s. Ours was 46.
