The restaurant was fabulous, pricey but worth it. The food was the best we had during our 2 weeks touring around the South of France. The pool area is beautiful. The hotel bar is also nice. The hotel is about 12 minute easy walk into Aix. Aix is a very vibrant buzzy town, a university town with lots of young people, so not just tourists. So many cafes all set out in lovely squares.
The room was clean and comfortable but not 5 star by a long shot, nothing like the cover photo for the hotel. The inside of the hotel (stairs and corridors) is a bit drab and dated. We stayed in several hotels during our trip and maybe in France it is the facilities that are star rated, not the bedrooms. At over €400 a night I expected more.

The general overall experience in the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. I really felt like I was on holidays.
My room was a little on the small side. The main downfall was the tiny shower. I felt like I had the squeeze into it.

Great location for the centre of Aix. Beautiful old building and gardens. Nice spa and gardens.
Our room was very disappointing for a superior room.
Very bland little furniture no bedside tables. Poor sound proofing to rest of the property. No mini bar.
A bath but no stand up shower. Bathroom leaked. Definitely not what was expected for a night charge of over €600!
Poor service, luggage not delivered and had to go and look for it despite waiting 40 minutes. Service at dinner was poor. Waited 45minutes to even receive a drink. It took 3 hours to have 3 courses and we felt we were left to last several times.
