The Bath Priory - A Relais & Chateaux Hotel

Very good sized room which was spacious, comfortable and well equipped even though we booked the most basic one. L'occitane bathroom products are appreciated. Location was perfect - we walled in to Bath for supper each evening and tje walk nack was fine in the dark. We only are breakfast at the hotel but it was very good. The gardens are heavenly - really beautiful with lots of quiet places to sit. We appreciated being given a tour of the hotel and its facilities on arrival . The spa treatments were good and it was especially nice that the rooms all had windows so were not at all claustrophobic. We liked the fact that it was menu breakfast served to us rather than buffet.

Both pools, indoor and out are quite small - 9-10 metres so not ideal if swimming lengths os important to you and they can feel full very quickly. The staff were friendly but service especially at breakfast is very slow. Felt that the training was perhaps insufficient - our table was pointed to us rather than shown to us and on the first day the order was mistaken 3 times . In the mornings there were piles of bedlinen in the corridor from room changes. On leaving, the bill had an automatic additional service charge for our spa treatments and drinks ordered. This was annoying as we prefer to choose to tip The decor is fine and in good repair but the overall appearance is a little dated
