Tung Trang Hotel

As a solo traveller, I felt safe and welcome. The room was clean and quiet, the bed large and comfy. The location was fantastic.

It’s in a quote alley, it’s family owned and they’re trying their best to make everything easy breezy.

The ac at the middle of the night broke, it was so hot but we were transferred to a different room. In the morning it was all fixed. Just thinking maybe this is a Vietnam thing, even the room is available they will not let you in, you still need to pay for early check. It just different here in the states.

The family who runs this hotel is truly lovely and kind, and made me feel at home, even though I was so far away from Portugal. I especially loved the breakfast, watching the mum and grandmother preparing everything with such care and love. One day, it was raining non-stop and I arrived at the hotel completely soaked. Without hesitation, the grandmother offered me a warm tea. It was such a simple gesture, but it meant so much to me. For me, this is what makes a place special when travelling — not luxury, but kindness, warmth and feeling genuinely welcomed. They were always happy to help with my questions and give me advice on how to find my way around the city. I couldn't have asked for more from the place I stayed in Hanoi. The balcony is really nice. The staff were absolutely lovely. Excellent location down an alleyway but rear easy to find and the lady comes out to meet you. There's a lift which is handy

The breakfast is not great. Very, very basic and you have to sit in not a very nice place to eat. It's right next to the toilet and doesn't feel very clean. It is cooked fresh for you but the kind of felt uncomfortable as it felt like sitting in someone kitchen. We only had breakfast on the first morning and went out for it after that. The room is quite basic too. Not as fancy as the pictures make it look. The balcony saved it but all in all a basic hotel with misleading pictures.
