Budmarsh Country Lodge

The accommodation was very confortable and peaceful. We were a group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) and they shifted us all to adjacent rooms. We didn't have dinner there but breakfast was great. When we arrived we asked if they would be showing the Spingbok game. They then went out of their way to set up a screen for us in the dining room and kept the bar open despite the late kickoff. Incredible service and friendliness!

The staff were exceptions and I loved how accommodation the lodge was

I advised staff that I have allergies on certain foods but unfortunately there wasn’t attention on my requirements

We attended a friends birthday function and arrangements regarding the luncheon were good. The lunch was well prepared and presented. Nice grounds.

Our room was not ready at 14h00. It was only ready around 14h40 and we were the only people checking in. Our room TV remote did not work - we reported it but it was not fixed and we had no feedback. No Zero Alchohol beers were available for our entire stay. Waiter bar service was almost non-existent. No loo paper in gents toilet near restaurant - I pointed this out to staff and 1 hr later it was still not replenished. Attention to detail not there, lack of maintenance visible. The hotel is for sale and in my opinion this impacted on staff morale and service. The manager was not visible during our stay. We saw him once when he apologised for the room not being ready. Breakfast was dissapointing and below par - eggs benedict served on toast ( no muffins), plastic cling wrap not removed from cereals, fruit selection was not well presented. Late in setting up.
