Bridgend Hotel

Bright and modern, lovely staff, good food.

Being locked out at midnight because our afterhours key didn’t work- the locks had been changed. A note of an emergency number to call by the door would have been helpful. As it was, a local PC called the manager who turned out to let us in.

It's centrally located to various parts of the island when travelling by car. Staff was great and there's a restaurant on site with wonderful breakfasts and dinners. There's also a gas station and small market across the street. We really enjoyed our stay.

Friendly staff and very good location for visiting Islay. All staff were very accommodating, and we were warned a few days before that there would be a live band playing on the Friday night, and they would move us if required to their cottage accommodation. We decided not to move as we enjoyed the music, but maybe take note that if staying in room 3, there could be live music at the weekend and if you cannot be moved, it will be loud in the room. The breakfast was good with a sufficient choice of cereal and cooked options, if a little slow at being served. We dined in the restaurant one night, and the food was very good. There is onsite parking, and across the road there is a petrol station and small convenience store. The room itself was very nice and a very good size for two people. Note there is no lift, so you must use the stairs if you have heavy suitcases, however the staff carried our cases as we were able to check-in early.

No major issues, just be warned about the live music if you are staying in room 3. Perhaps send the hotel a message when you book asking if there will be any live bands playing during your visit. Having said that, the live Scottish music was very good, and I recommend that you enjoy the music!

La restauration était bonnes la vue sur le jardin était sympathique, car sinon pour les autres chambres c’est vue sur le parking ou la route Hotel cosy et personnel sympathique

Chambre trop petite, difficile de poser 2 valises, la salle de bain très petite, difficulté à ouvrir les fenêtres , pas très propre, même si le ménage est fait , c’est très superficiel… Intoxication alimentaire après avoir manger un repas entier à base de poissons et fruit de mer, au goût tout était bon, mais probablement la fraîcheur des moules? Aucun moyen de le savoir Pas d’ascenseur, beaucoup de portes à franchir et beaucoup de marches, pas pratique avec de grandes valises Hôtel bruyant, car les vacanciers claquent les portes, il n’y a pas de système de retenue de la porte , ni de pancarte pour demander le silence dans les couloirs
